I was flat out wrong... Fortunately we had a reservation and were seated promptly. We began the meal with drinks and an outstanding carpaccio as a starter. The drinks were tasty and strong, and as we started to feel them we began to look forward to our meal. We decided to share the Risotto with parmesan and asparagus - when it came it was incredibly salty - so much so that it was difficult to eat more about a third of it between us. We complained to the management about the high-salt level in our entrée, and they simply blamed the fact on the paremsan cheese. To be fair, they exchange our first entree for something else. That said, they refused to comp either they meal or another round of drinks and we left less than satisfied.

We sat down and the waiter came up to us and took our drink order. We all decided not to drink any wine so we ordered Regular Pepsi. The waiter came back with Diet Pepsi and we quickly caught on to that and got it adjusted to the regular one. Shortly after, a huge group of people gets seated next to us and the attention automatically falls on that table by the waiter. They all ordered wine and drinks and it became rather loud which is understandable with a sized group like that. We ordered our food but for some reason the other table ended up receiving their food quickly after they ordered. We ordered 3 different appetizers and the waiter brings out an extra one that we did not order. He said that it is on the house since he messed up so if we want we can try it out. So we did. Later on we realized he actually charged us for that order.... All of the food needed salt and seasoning to begin with, the only thing that was perfectly seasoned was the homemade butter for the bread. After about 2 hours, our food comes out and it is severely undercooked. We all chose the truffle macaroni plate. My friend who ordered gluten free food could barely chew her pasta and we requested a new order. The manager came up to us and said not to worry and that he would take care of it. Her second order came out softer but the food lost its flavor somehow and somewhere. Not once did the waiter care to come up to us to check on us but he kept checking on the bigger group a few times. I am not sure if us looking underdressed made us look less appealing to give good service to but it was something that wasn't right. We felt extremely singled out. None of us finished our food, we barely picked at it and the waiter rushed to pick our plates from the table, didn't even ask how we liked it or anything. We all left with an extremely bad taste in our mouths and we will not recommend this place to any of our friends or family. It is sad because we really wanted to like this place.

The ambiance and setting inside is elegant and yet welcoming and warm colors and tones with great ambient lighting. The aroma when you enter Mancini is mouth watering. We enjoyed are waiter and it really is a small world as we all lived in the Boston area at the same time. Moreover the food captured our hearts. We started with the shrimp appetizer which just melted in our mouths, the flavors were well orchestrated and a definite favorite. We then had the tagliatelle which was beyond perfection, the sauce was well balanced and smooth. The pasta was perfectly al dente! We also had the pork chop with homemade sausage and cannellini purée and broccoli. When I say this was beyond heavenly I mean it. The pork is from Calabria region famous for their black pigs and the chop was prepared to perfection. I would order this dish on repeat on a weekly basis. Do not miss out on eating at this gem of a restaurant. You will not get better Italian food in Italy. Well done everyone at Mancini! Upon entry, I was greeted by a very abrupt, Swedish waiter who began talking me to Swedish even when I shook my head, and tried to explain I don't understand - I really don't understand why he bothered me before I sat down when he knew I didn't speak Swedish, I understand there's a language barrier however I shown him my coupon and he even appeared to agree I didn't understand, yet still carried on. This branch of Vapiano is unusual in the sense, you order at a counter and pay with your card and then collect your food - you then take your card and pay as you leave as normal. I really dislike this concept because I like watching the people cook my food and the fact you have to go back and collect your food anyway - takes away the fact you can sit down and relax - table service with this method would make much more sense. I decided to order a panna cotta as I had been given a voucher for a free Dessert / Dolci by another store to try out at any location in Sweden which was the only reason I came into store while passing - I was sent from the counter to the bar which was confusing yet again (You order everything apart from alcohol and Dolci at the counter with no one even making the concept clear) Not only that - I found it really hard to get a menu as they were hidden away in a corner near the counter (Why wasn't I given one when I checked in as other stores do?) The dessert was raspberry pannacotta with caramellized pistacchio nuts. Sounded amazing, tasted like something you find in the frozen section at Tesco. The dish from appearance to taste just seemed lazy, the spring onions had been thrown on top cold (perhaps they forgot), meanwhile the tomato sauce the risotto was in had no positive impact on the dish, with the rice and carrots really hard - the same could even be said about the shrimp which I presume they used instead of traditional scampi - another big letdown. After complaining - they knocked the dish off my bill but still made me pay for my drink, considering I probably had one or two mouthfuls of my iced tea by the time I sent my food back and I'd have to go into another restauraunt and buy another drink, I don't feel still paying full price for my drink is right - obviously it's a good iced tea I'm willing to pay for it but I'd have much rather them waived by bill as a whole than gave me a voucher for a coffee next time I come in - which is around about the same price anyway so makes no sense, especially considering I have no intention to return to any branch of Vapiano in Sweden after two different bad experiences today. Vapiano is a chain, which means that this location really shouldn't be that unique. And yet it has somehow become iconic for me. It has carved out a niche. It's a landmark - quite literally. I frequently meet friends "by Vapiano", even if that's not where we are eating. Of course, we eat quite a lot at Vapiano, too! On a chill autumn evening there's nothing like strolling down Götgatan in the sunset, crossing the bridge to Gamla Stan, and ordering three freshly-made pizzas to share. Though I usually opt for the pasta. There are so many options! You can so simple and classic, with to-die-for pesto or simple tomato sauce, or something exotic and new like chicken pasta with ginger, mint, and chili...mmm! I've never been disappointed here. The food is made right in front of you, and you can choose your shape of pasta and everything. Even though it's always pretty crowded, there's lots of seating so I've never had trouble finding a place. There's not too much interaction with the staff but they have always seemed friendly enough. I've gone to Vapiano for birthdays, for casual lunches, and for spontaneous dinners. It's not super fancy, but it's much better than fast food - it's good for everything! If you want tasty fresh Italian food that won't break the bank, and a place where you can carry on a conversation with friends at normal speaking levels as you breath in delicious herby-air, this is it.
