Was out looking for a decent place for Italian food and Paganini came up on my search. I would highly suggest making reservations here, as it didn't seem like there was a lot of availability for walk-ins. This was a great place for some traditional Italian, something I did not expect to find in Stockholm. We were greeted warmly and given some great recommendations on the menu. We went a bit whole hog here and had caprese and arancini for appetizers, different entrées, and Panna cotta for dessert. I couldn't help myself and also got an after-dinner cocktail. Everything was just fantastic. Food was delicious, service was friendly and warm, and was just a nice evening out.

Cute family run restaurant in Gamla Stan. Server was so funny! he knew who Sleepy Joe was! Ordered Arancini and risotto- delicious! Ravioli with truffle was rich and the sauce was divine! Fettuccini was incredibly rich. I highly recommend this restaurant.

Interior of Ristorante Paganini, Gamla Stan.

Ristorante Paganini is an outstanding restaurant for a very good Italian meal. The host and servers were very friendly and helpful in accommodating our likes and dislikes. My husband had lasagne and I had a ragu beef flat noodle dish. Both were superb! Bread and salads are included, as well as post-meal Swedish coffee and apple pie. There are many other choices on the menu, including a lovely sounding pasta de mare and risotto, as well as starters and desserts. If you're in Gamla Stan and looking for a great restaurant, you've found it!

Fried artichokes - delicious! Fettuccini Paganini - yummy! Spaghetti Bolognese - so tasty! Romeo did some magic to get us a table even without reservations as the place was packed. So, tip - best to make a reservation. Wonderful and quick service with Brandon and Ellen - both so attentive and friendly, wanting all to be right for us. The tiramisu - save room. You don't want to miss it. Great people watching as people strolled by on a bustling Friday evening. Red checkered tablecloths, real candlelight. We had such a wonderful dinner at Paganini!!

Fantastic place. Went here on a whim for lunch after googling for good Italian in Gamla Stan, and it was exactly as everyone else said! Service was great, the waiter wasn't pushy or insistent on us ordering more wine, and his recommendation for something to pair with our meal was spot on. Looking over the counter, they seemed to have a great selection of alcohol, and even thought we're more familiar with French wines and not Italian, the waiter was kind enough to recommend a good pairing without being judgmental. My wife had the carbonara while I had the risotto Al fungi, both of which were delicious. The saltiness of the meat in the carbonara was fantastic, and the risotto had a really rich flavor that I felt like I could eat forever thanks to all that decadent cheese! We were sorely disappointed that we were too full for dessert, so we'll definitely have to be back. It was a warm day, but the fresh air coming in through the massive window was fantastic, and it didn't feel stuffy or weird like some of the other restaurants in Gamla Stan. The prices weren't bad either, especially for a touristy area in Stockholm. Overall, an absolute 10/10!

We ate here twice on our visit and were very happy with our food. The first time we did take away and eventhough the food was cold and not at the right temperature back at our hotel, it was still delicious. It was so good we wanted to visit again a couple days later and eat in. We loved the ragu and the garlic bread that came at the beginning of the meal. We also tried the two types of pizzettes and risotto and arancini. Overall, everything was delicious and services was attentive and very friendly.

We were in Gamla Stan and looking for some snackas while checking out the adorable streets and shops. The menu in the window caught our attention and after comparing to several other places nearby, we decided we couldn't resist. We popped in during a very busy lunch hour and were greeted as soon as we arrived and they managed to find us a picture perfect table right next to the window. The restaurant is small but cozy with adorable red and white tablecloths and beautiful ornate ceilings. Our server was friendly, welcoming, and best of all..knowledgeable about gluten free options. We started with the salad bar. I did have limited options but was still able to enjoy a nice salad with olive oil and balsamic as a dressing. They had gf pasta and I was excited to indulge. I ordered the seafood pasta with gf penne. The seafood was nice but the pasta was a little overcooked and fell apart. The husband is absolutely a schnitzel fiend. When he saw that they were offering it on the menu, there was really no question as to where we were going to eat. He very much enjoyed it and said it was well prepared with a nice outer crisp. He also enjoyed the side of parmesan potatoes as well. The overall lunch experience was good and we really enjoyed getting to watch the bustling Gamla Stan cobblestone streets. Price is competitive for the area and any place that can satisfy the husband's schnitzel craving is a-okay in my book!

Personable staff, incredible authentic Italian food. We ordered four different entrees: Ragu was the stand out. Arancini and tiramisu were both amazing as well

Shrimp. Kind of hard to eat. Not date food!!

Once they were open, it took a long time between us being given menus to finally getting our food- 50 minutes. They should've given us our side while we were waiting for the board. We ordered a side of salami and Swedish cheese and the hairy pig board. I enjoyed the side, but the board not so much. The board consisted of wild boar sausage with broche bun, wild boar taco, peppercorn fries, and wild boar lasagna. The board was quite heavy and salty. I didn't have enough stomach space to even try the taco. I did enjoy the fries, but it's not enough for me to want to return.

This place is tucked below street level and is very intimate and downright cozy with its low beam wood ceiling, wood tables in every cranny it can fit to accommodate guests, and a tiny little bar. You can find this place outside by the wooden sign with the boar on it, then simply peer down into the low window and if you see a hairy pig nomming on a sausage, congratulations! You're in the right place. We stopped in not long before closing time and that was probably the only reason we were able to get a much coveted table. The barkeep was nice and let us put in a quick order while also getting us drinks. Unfortunately for me, there were not very many gluten free tapa options on the menu, but there were a few naturally gf. The salami and sausages were thought to have gluten so I went with the smoked shell on shrimp, a cheese dip, and some salad with olives. I wasn't crazy about the smoked shrimp but the olives and cheese were good. The husband enjoyed a sausage in bun which he said was great. Overall we liked the vibe and I think if you can eat the locally sourced meats like my husband it's probably a pretty solid place. If you're gf or allergy you'll probably still be hungry at the end of the meal like I was.

Tucked away inside The Burgudy at Yxsmedsgränd 12 and something of an exclusive experience, less than fifty available seats each week with nearly half those wrapped around a Chef's Counter, it is immediately upon arrival that guests are greeted by a one-man service crew/bartender, the Chefs themselves delivering most plates from a menu lined with symbols. Very much built in the model of Momofuku Ko, a lot of mis en place assemblage allowing the skeleton crew to execute complex ideas with rapidity in a space that requires shouting to be heard, it was alongside Sake infused with Yuzu that dinner began with two bites, the first fresh Mackerel atop a Rice Crisp with Soy expectedly reminiscent of Nigiri while Beets and Maple Syrup with Goat Cheese fared well despite being a rather ubiquitous idea. Progressing at a sometimes uneven pace, tables of four and six arriving thirty minutes later leading to one half the kitchen preparing a prior plate when it would seem far more expeditious to have two designated seating times rolling out one course at a time, it was on the heels of outsourced Charcuterie that a porcelain "Egg" was served containing the breakfast-y mix of Pork, Yolk and Onions, the follow-up of White Asparagus, Ramson, and Smoked Perch clearly focused on seasonality given each ingredient's current presence on every menu in town. Using a Dim Sum steamer basket to prepare Ribs made sticky with Garlic and Sugar next, its designation on the menu by Chinese and American flags fitting, the night's two most enjoyable savories would next arrive back-to-back, creamy Cheese forming the base to juicy Chicken and a tangle of Herbs followed by Sirloin prepared via blowtorch sporting a never-before-seen charcoal filter. Adding a lot of umami to the Steak with Red Wine, sautéed Onions and drapes of aged Beef, the decision to scale back by way of a freshly made Pancake topped in Horseradish and Roe an odd one when both it and sous vide Pike could have preceded the Chicken, it was after a substantial delay that two Desserts closed things out, the traditional Cake Roll a pleasant single bite while the Bread Pudding topped in poached Rhubarb and Longpepper Cream was sweet but nicely balanced by heat and remarkable in its layering of textures.

Starting with the atmosphere, warm and relaxed, with the open kitchen blending in with the small intimate dining room. Hip hop music is played and the waiters are all dress in adidas- still, they never make you doubt that you are in a first class restaurant. Service is personal and relaxed, without ever bordering sloppy. Instead it is very professional throughout, and you are given answers to any questions. Now on to the perhaps most important- the food. From first bite to last, it is magic. Beautiful on the plate and even more in the mouth. The meat, there on every plate, often works more as a spice than the main ingredient, and it does it so well! Every one of the perhaps 15 servings is outstanding, but most memorable is perhaps the tartar of deer served with an egg yolk and a bouillon infused with moose heart and some herb I can not remember the name of. Or perhaps the langoustine. Or... Drink pairings where equally interesting, with a story behind most, ranging from sake to Riesling to sherry to tokai. When dinner was over and we where left comfortably full, happy, a little tipsy, and not even broke, we agreed that this is among the best restaurant experiences ever, beating the all the multi star restaurants in Stockholm and many elsewhere!

I noticed a few interesting niche items, but prefer to treat myself to these things at Casa Warg or Urbandeli as the atmosphere reminds me of my past life in the UK and US. For the more reasonable prices and extra 10 minute walk, I will continue to due my food shopping on Söder. Having become a regular (15 min before closing!) shopper at Munkbrohallen, I have upped the 2 star rating to 4.
