Well, I revisited Sozo Trading Co. today and I was greeted warmly again when I entered the store…read more The clothing selection looked just as great as it did the last time I was in the store and I also noticed other things such as beautiful glassware, dishes, sturdy furniture, electronics, a variety of linens plus several light fixtures and nice lamps. And then I noticed the jewelry, because the last time I visited I was looking for mystery jewelry jars and today I was happy to see five or six baggies absolutely full of costume jewelry that appeared wearable along with beads and watch parts and just everything I could use for crafting and repurposing with jewelry. So, I purchased two jewelry bags and the contents did not disappoint me when I opened them at home. So, it was another productive and great day shopping at Sozo Trading Co. In addition, there is always plenty of free parking and if you have the time there are a couple of restaurants nearby.

At their 10 year celebration, it was such a fun environment! They had raffles , special pricing and even had a coffee truck on site. I really enjoyed coming here to celebrate with them! So when you see those signs, they are falsely presenting that they support non profits but 96.% earned off of your donations goes to paychecks for executives. In addition they run an eBay page on YOUR donated items. Not only are their price markups outrageous in the store, they are based on current marketability from eBay. Don't donate to thrift store causes unless you like directly funding corporate organizations rather than non profit activities. Always check that organization to ensure they are a non profit.

Let's begin with product availability. The menswear section is great for those of us that can turn menswear pieces into fashionable pieces for women. Then move around to women's pieces. We have high end to low end pieces at reasonable prices. Purses and handbag heaven. The next time you're putting that special outfit together, come to D'Trespa Consignment to get that statement bag to take the outfit over the top. There's just som many gems being housed here. You have to come in and take a look. The shop owner shared a few things; Bring your items in and if sold, you can receive cash or if not sold the will donate to a charitable organization on your behalf and you receive the charity receipt for tax purposes. She also informed us that the first Saturdays of every month until October, the street will be shut down for an open market. Come by during those times and you could possibly win a prize. Can't wait to come back. Great shop to find those designer pieces you've been wanting.

For men, there is a bit of that Birmingham preppy (Brooks Brothers, Polo, Vintage Vines) and some downright vintage. I bought a 1970's JC Penney LS shirt and some other men's items. There is not a huge men's selection, but for women, there's a lot more - purses, dresses, iconic looks and "create your own style." She's even got a "little black dress" room and was updating to add a bunch more dresses. What I like best is that the selection is unique. This is a boutique, not so much just T's and jeans, but items to look your best or find your own fashion way. For my lady I bought a Michael Kors and a Ralph Lauren handbag - but I left some for you dear reader. So, go check it out!
