Over the years, I have found some really great pieces-from clothing and shoes, to handbags, to furniture...I've found treasures! If you go and don't find what you're looking for, stop back another day. If you see something you want, get it then because someone else will beat you to it! Prices have gone up over the years but you're still saving money from what the item originally cost. Lovelady Center, located not far from the store, helps women get back on their feet after going through tough times. They turn your donations into profit that helps them support their residents. In fact, most, if not all, the ladies that work here, are connected to Lovelady in some way. They are either current residents or have been helped in the past. You should really look up their story. If you like to shop, especially in thrift stores, you must check them out!

That is the first time I've ever experienced that in a Goodwill. This location is larger than most I've been to. The staff were pretty friendly. The dressing rooms were blocked off with carts and signs. I asked an employee if it was available to use. She stated I could use one of the first rooms. So I'm not sure why it was ALL blocked off. And then I noticed the jewelry, because the last time I visited I was looking for mystery jewelry jars and today I was happy to see five or six baggies absolutely full of costume jewelry that appeared wearable along with beads and watch parts and just everything I could use for crafting and repurposing with jewelry. So, I purchased two jewelry bags and the contents did not disappoint me when I opened them at home. So, it was another productive and great day shopping at Sozo Trading Co. In addition, there is always plenty of free parking and if you have the time there are a couple of restaurants nearby.

Look no further, Birmingham DIYers. The Habitat Restore is a depository for leftover, unwanted, or found building materials that are bargain priced for YOU (and me too). Bonus: the proceeds benefit an incredible organization that helps build houses for those who truly need and deserve them: Habitat for Humanity of Birmingham. Do yourself and your community a favor - donate any leftover building materials you have after a remodel or addition or head to Restore after a Pinterest binge has you itching to build your own headboard out of doors, fence posts, or old lightbulbs (hey, I don't judge!). The staff are incredibly friendly, the store organized and clean, and the prices, well, let's just say you won't find this stuff much cheaper anywhere else that is in good shape. They have almost everything here from flooring to doors to paint to handsoap. I bought several of their transition strips for flooring. Only $1.00....a fraction of the cost at other places I looked at like Home Depot (about $11-19) and Southeastern Salvage ($5.00). I was overwhelmed in some parts. The staple and nail selection! So many options for sizes....or to me....so many ways for me to buy the WRONG size!! I think this store is an "all sales final" place too. Even more nerve wrecking..... I've encountered so many associates here, and they have all been super friendly and helpful. One guy was helping my dad and I move pipes into our truck. My dad was very rude to him, and he kept his composure the whole time! If you need something (other than like food)...go ahead and come here and you'll probably find it.
