Sept 03, 2019 I was referred out to Carpet & Tile Junction…read moreby a couple of my neighbors, and they mentioned it was a family owned business and they had a great experience. My goal was/is to try and keep as much business as I can to locally owned on big purchases. I went out on Saturday and they were closed. Yelp says they are open until 12 on Sat. Turns out that is wrong and their website says closed Sat & Sun. I submitted a change of hours to Yelp. No biggie, I am determined to try and give business to locals. I call Tuesday at 3pm to be sure they are open until 4 pm. The man says they are and I mention I am on my way over. I arrive at about 3:23 pm. I mention I am looking for the best Nylon 6,6 carpet they offer/carry. He points me to the wall and says everything we have for Nylon is on that lighted display. I go over and look at the carpet. I pull one with colors I like but the density and twist don't seem very high. I go back to the counter and say I like this color but this doesn't seem very high in twist or density. We are looking at about a 72 oz, with 6.50 twist and 3,370 density. He says oh that would be over here. He takes me to Dixie, shows me one. I ask what the density, twist and oz are. He pulls the carpet apart and counts. He says it "looks" like about 7 twist. He says they (manufacturer/mill) don't give them the information for density or oz weight for carpet. Without the twist and density there is no proper and good way to make a purchasing decision on the carpet you are looking at. Guessing by the salesman doesn't count... I ask what it would cost to have it installed. The whole time since I walked in the layout I brought has been sitting on the counter with the measurements and schematics of how each room connects. He still disregards it and proceeds to just give me a price of $8.22 sq ft installed. I mention I have removed all carpet, tack board, and prepped all the rooms and ask would it be any less. He says that would save me about $50 off the job. Maybe they were having a bad day, who knows why there wasn't a little more personalized service. Not 1 question was asked on the project or anything for that matter. Sorry, but the lack of customer service and information was very bad in my opinion. I thought HD and Lowes had semi OK service in the carpet department when you could find one. But this experience makes the big box store experience seem like gold star service.

On a scale of 1 to 10, this store is a solid 12! We purchased about 1500 sq.ft. of vinyl plank…read moreflooring and couldn't be more pleased. Tony is extremely knowledgeable and has a great sense of humor, Ken (one of the owners) is a delight to work with, and their installer (Eddie) is a perfectionist who gets the job done quickly with no mess or fussing around. This whole project was fun and painless, at a competitive price, and we highly recommend Carpet & Tile Junction!
