Formal Complaint Regarding Discriminatory and Inhumane Treatment During My Flight…read more To Whom It May Concern, I am writing to formally express my deep disappointment and concern regarding the treatment I received while traveling on United Airlines during a recent emergency trip to the Dominican Republic. As an elderly passenger with a disability, I specifically purchased a First-Class ticket to make what was already a difficult and stressful journey more manageable. Unfortunately, the treatment I received was not only unacceptable, but also humiliating and degrading. At the end of the flight, as we are walking off the plane, I requested access to the restroom and was denied the opportunity to use it. Despite my age and physical limitations, my situation was not handled with dignity or compassion. As a result of being prevented from using the restroom when needed, I was forced to urinate on myself. This occurred in front of other passengers and caused me tremendous embarrassment, emotional distress, and humiliation. Additionally, I had arranged wheelchair assistance due to my disability and limited mobility. I have eight screws in my spine and am unable to stand for extended periods without significant pain and discomfort. Upon arrival, I was informed that wheelchair assistance would meet me at the aircraft door. Instead, I was left standing and waiting for 18 minutes before assistance arrived. This delay caused unnecessary pain and placed my health and safety at risk. Also, I want to add that during handling, an employee broke the strap to my bag. I find it extremely troubling that a company serving the public would treat a disabled passenger in this manner. At no point did I feel that my medical needs, dignity, or well-being were being respected. The entire experience left me feeling helpless, embarrassed, and deeply disappointed. I am requesting that United Airlines conduct a thorough investigation into this incident, including a review of the actions of the crew and ground staff involved. I would also appreciate a written explanation of why these events occurred and what steps will be taken to ensure that other disabled passengers are not subjected to similar treatment in the future. Given the seriousness of these issues and the physical and emotional distress I suffered, along with mental anguish, I believe compensation and a formal apology are warranted. This was a very expensive flight. I look forward to your prompt response and resolution of this matter. Sincerely, Fernando Batista UA2489
