Very disappointed in the fact that they were called due to tank running out of oil. They ended up charging $901 dollars they put in a pressure relief valve that retails for around $60 tops and takes 5 minutes to put in charged $205. Also installed pressure tank $241. Charged $150 to show up and $239 to do what was the only thing needed a filter, screen, and nozzle. After the boiler immediately stopped running they called the usual boiler professional who was familiar with system who had to redo the yearly maintenance they had done and stated there was no need for relief valve or pressure tank. The person renting is a single mother with 3 young kids who would sign off on anything they recommended. The company would not budge an inch on their over inflated bill. Continued Saga with E&V Energy. As previously mentioned, E&V charged us $600,00 to install a thermostat. After the thermostat was installed, it still did not operate correctly. I called E&V to tell them the thermostat they installed 30 days ago was not working properly, and I was told by the service department and the overall manager that the owner BANNED us from service due to me sending a letter to the Attorney General asking for help due to the overprice of $600.00 to install the thermostat. We had another HVAC Company come and check the thermostat. The thermostat was bad, due to the E&V Technician wiring the thermostat wrong, and improperly rearranged the wiring from the thermostat at the furnace. I called E&V back to tell them what the problem was. Again, they said we were banned from service and assistance. Once again I submitted an update to the Attorney General asking for assistance in getting a refund. By the way, the HVAC Company only charged us only $179.00 for installing the new thermostat and fix the wiring at the furnace. read more

Despite great customer service at our previous home where we contracted E & V to install tens of thousands of dollars worth of new furnace, air conditioning, and whole house electrical generator about 5 years ago, plus outstanding tech services on yearly preventive maintenance calls, our latest project beginning in July 2019 at our new home proved to be a nightmare. We contracted for a backup, whole house, 16kW Generac electrical generator similar to the one we bought 5 years ago for our former residence. When the installation crew arrived, we were not told anything, including the fact that the power would be out to the house for hours. At our prior house, power was interrupted for mere minutes and we, stupidly, assumed that the same would be true this time. The problem was that my husband, a disabled vet, is on oxygen and depends on a stable, constant supply of electricity. Eventually the power was restored and when we went outside to talk to the installation crew, they were gone. No instruction, no briefing, no nothing. We thought they were coming back because not everything was sealed, fixed, and normal even to our untrained eyes. An electrical contractor friend who happened to be there working on another project pointed out numerous code violations, amateruish mistakes, and dangerous shortcuts taken by the E & V subcontract installers and OK'd by their supervisor It took a series of phonecalls to locate an E & V supervisor who had the authority to hire an independent professional subcontractor to fix all the problems with the initial installation. In the end, after much frustration, the generator was set up properly, the subcontractor was paid, I paid E & V after a billing dispute was settled and all is now right wirh the world. I call E&V Energy in Watertown for fuel oil for my boyfriends house regularly. When I decided it was time to have maintenance done on the furnace at my own house, naturally, I called E&V. They told me they are not accepting new accounts at this time (January 2022). I think it's fabulous that our local businesses are doing so well that they don't need new business! Terrible Customer Service and communication. I requested an inspection done on an oil tank for a home I was purchasing because they service it now. They did not know I already had an inspection done by my company and my company failed the tank. The guy called me and said oh yeah the tank is fine, a little rusty but, it's old so expected but yeah it's fine. I said are you sure because I am buying this house and I need to get your inspection to my attorney he says yes it's fine. I then advised him my company failed it and why they failed it. The bottom was complete rust ready to bust through and it was not on cement blocks/pad. He apologized and said let me go take another look. He said again the tank is fine it just needs cement blocks. I can leave some if you like. I said no that is ok. I called the following Tuesday to obtain a copy of the report for my attorney and they lady refused to help me said someone called them yelling about a tank inspection for the property and they no longer want to service the location. I asked her about the inspection, explained who I was and why I was calling and she said they failed the tank she is looking at the report right in front of her. I said no, his name was Paul and he old me the tank was fine and I need to report for my attorney. Continued to say no I am not providing that and we no longer want involvement in this property, click. Of course not, because you pass bad tanks just to make a dollar! We hired them to come to our house for a yearly furnace cleaning. We were told that we needed to replace our furnace and various other work having to do with our chimney. Over $7,000 in work. We applied and was approved for financing. We were told not to run our furnace because it was so bad. Just to be safe we decided to get another opinion. That opinion was there was absolutely nothing wrong with our furnace and we didn't need ANY work done on it. We had a second person come in and they said we didn't need ANY work done nor have our furnace replaced either!!! Get a second opinion if you're dealing with E&V! Pretty mind boggling with how fast information can travel these days that a company would use such shady sales tactics and try and dupe consumers. BEWARE! read more

After over ten years of reliable service we have elected to move on... Here are a few expensive reasons why: One year a new driver overflowed our fuel tank and caused our business to close down for a while. They paid for the clean up and the fix to the tank, but it happened during the fall months and was a serious disruption. The fire department, the environment agency, and others showed up making our parking lot an alphabet soup of vehicles that crowded and made it impossible for any customers to use our service. More recently, we had to have a repair done. I reluctantly allowed the company to do the repair. Wow, that was Very Expensive. We seriously doubt a pipe and fitting was over $250. That's not including the original $100 'diagnostic' service fee. That's when a technician shows up for less than fifteen minutes to say, "you need a new pipe and fitting." When we called the company to itemize the bill for the repair we were told, "that would be more expensive," and that isn't something they do. That bears repeating.... They would NOT itemize the repair bill! On top of that a certain staff member said, "Well, you win some and you lose some." So we shopped around and found a cheaper fuel delivery service.
