The only concerning thought would be that the lady at the front seeing walking customers could stand to take some charm classes. A little indifferent toward customers.

Please find a different dentist. I have no idea where the "Excellence" in their name comes from…read more New to the area and my wife set us up appointments for a cleaning and to see the dentist. Started off with the staff spending about 30 minutes trying to verify my insurance. It was pretty simple, Delta Dental through my wife's policy. I sat in the waiting room until they were able to sort it out. Then I am taken back for my cleaning where I am told that I am due for x-rays. I am then told it will be $65 for an additional panoramic x-ray because they do not have one and insurance does not cover it. I just had this done not too long ago in CA. I was then told if I did not say OK to it then they could not clean my teeth. I asked if they could get it from my previous dentist's office and she said they could, but we already have wasted 25 minutes of my appointment looking up my insurance. I was also told Flouride for the cleaning would be an additional $25 but that was optional. I felt like I was buying a car verses getting my teeth cleaned. I picked up my phone and got out of the chair and went to the front desk. Where I let the staff know that I have never been to a dentist like this and my wife and I would be going somewhere else. I would not reccomend this place to anynone, not even to have my dog's teethe cleaned. Sorry but true!

Caution - Their billing practices leave a lot to be desired. After a year of my wife and I using…read morethe dentist, we had a very bad billing experience and left. What would you think when an unnecessary procedure is done and then not only are you charged for the procedure but you are expected to pay 400% more than what the dentist would accept in payment from the insurance company? Our insurance identified an unnecessary tooth build up procedure for a cap. The insurance had paid for the same procedure for several other caps. However, the facts the dentist presented in their original claim, a 2nd appeal and my patient appeal were review by two on staff dentists by my insurance company and denied as unnecessary. Taking advantage of seniors seems to be the name of the game in Florida. We don't support those that stick it to the customer. When you use this dentist, you sign a form that basically is their blank check. Very disappointing. We offered to reimburse the dentist in the same amount as the dentist had accepted from our insurance for the same procedure in the past just to close the matter and move on. The office manager said the payment had to be 400% more - $300+ more. Another interesting bookkeeping practice is that from our experience they overcharge for the patients portion of the visit and then you end up with large credit balances for the overpayments. Sometimes we had to remind the office of our overpayment and sometimes they told us of the overpayment. I would never recommend the dentist based on these practices.

When I told her his estimate was too high and asked for a 10% reduction, since I would be paying out of pocket a substantial amount) because my insurance did not cover the work that had to be done, I got a take it or leave it response from the receptionist after she conferred with the dentist. I will not deal with this unsympathetic, overcharging dentist and would not recommend him to anyone.

Opened a can of my favorite popcorn, ate a handful, broke a tooth. Aaaarg!! It's Friday night, now…read morewhat do I do? I looked on google for a dentist that would be open on a Saturday and saw that this place would open at 8am and was pretty close by. So at 8am, I called, explained what happened to Dave and he got me in at 11:30 that morning. Listen, I'm a self admitted dentist chicken, so I proceeded to panic. That was the longest 3 hour wait. This was the first time I went to a dentist after knee replacement and remembered I needed to take antibiotics before any dental work. I called back to tell them this and Dave assured me that they had the medication there and would give it to me when I arrived. It was a very nice clean office. Receptionist was very friendly and saw it was noted I needed antibiotics so she went and got them for me. A few minutes later she came out with a bottle of water and a bag of graham crackers so I could get something in my stomach so the medication wouldn't make me sick. Nice touch. A short time later I was called back for X-rays then brought to my room. Unfortunately my tooth had broken below the gum line so it couldn't be saved. It had to be pulled. Oh Lord NO!! The dental assistant (wish I remembered her name) was very nice and explained things to me very well. She was quite the saleswoman too, which I don't like. I'm retired, on a fixed income with no dental insurance. Don't talk to me about implants and bridges! I had Dr. Avril, who is not a regular in this practice. He was very nice, tried the implant and bridge sale, didn't work. Finally time to pull. He injected me a couple times to numb the area, then came back maybe a 1/2 hr or more later and injected me again. More waiting, Then it was go time. It took him so long to pull that tooth I didn't think he'd ever get it out of my mouth. I know he was being careful not to injure the teeth beside it. Finally, it came out and in the process knocked off the crown on the tooth beside it. No biggie, a little cement and it was back on. Done, yea!!! I would have given them five stars except that Dr. Avril didn't say a word to me after the tooth was pulled, no "I'm finished" no "goodbye" nothing. I really hate the selling part, no good. And lastly, I had to call them back once home because I didn't know if the antibiotics they gave me was enough or if I needed more. Guess what? Three prescriptions were needed, antibiotics, steroids and a pain medication. Should have been taken care of while I was there. I am extremely grateful that they were able to see me and take care of my issue. Everyone was very nice. Dr. Avril did a great job and didn't hurt me. Keep this place in mind if you have an emergency. And, I am considering keeping them as my regular dentist!
