Please find a different dentist. I have no idea where the "Excellence" in their name comes from. New to the area and my wife set us up appointments for a cleaning and to see the dentist. Started off with the staff spending about 30 minutes trying to verify my insurance. It was pretty simple, Delta Dental through my wife's policy. I sat in the waiting room until they were able to sort it out. Then I am taken back for my cleaning where I am told that I am due for x-rays. I am then told it will be $65 for an additional panoramic x-ray because they do not have one and insurance does not cover it. I just had this done not too long ago in CA. I was then told if I did not say OK to it then they could not clean my teeth. I asked if they could get it from my previous dentist's office and she said they could, but we already have wasted 25 minutes of my appointment looking up my insurance. I was also told Flouride for the cleaning would be an additional $25 but that was optional. I felt like I was buying a car verses getting my teeth cleaned. I picked up my phone and got out of the chair and went to the front desk. Where I let the staff know that I have never been to a dentist like this and my wife and I would be going somewhere else. I would not reccomend this place to anynone, not even to have my dog's teethe cleaned. Sorry but true! read more

February 7th 9:26 am my name is Adam Jones with a 9:00am appointment. I'm waiting 30 plus minutes. THIRTY MINUTES AS IM TYPING THIS IN THEIR LOBBY. Why did I make an appointment? The girl at the front desk said they are "cleaning a room", and I'm up next because one of their rooms went "down", whatever that means, makes 0 sense to have a "room down". Best part is a patient named James had a 9:30, and was admitted to his appointment within 3 minutes of sitting down. Clearly, you have available rooms, as James was received and admitted by the office 5 minutes of entering. Ridiculous. Another lie was when the front desk told me I was "up next". Well, I watched James and another patient be admitted to their appointments, literally moments before I was told they were "cleaning a room right now" and that I was "up next". My common sense should have told me to leave, but I decided to keep giving them chance after chance. After 40 minutes of waiting, I got to the office at 8:50 mind you for a 9:00 appointment, I was finally being seen by a Staff Member with a thick Spanish accent. She asked me what I was here for twice, quite rudely I must add, I responded I was there for an implant. Without asking me any further question she puts the x-ray cover on me, she didn't ask if I had any previous x-rays, she didn't ask about how I had them sent over the day before, it wa up to me to stop her and tell her 3 times I've had prior X-rays, she clearly did not understand, as again it took 3 times for her to acknowledge I had en email with my X-rays sent. I walk to the front desk, waiting for 5 minutes and they are having trouble finding my X-rays, the ones sent the day before. No one at this practice was ready for my appointment, the appointment they made me wait weeks for, the appointment I sent all my information over for. I took off work this, frustrated doesn't even begin to encapsulate how I feel. The fact I had to basically debate with your Staff member about whether I had prior X-rays and how they were sent was abysmal service. I genuinely don't believe all these google reviews are real people and must be paid for, this place was that bad. These people are terrible, from the front desk to the staff member who acted like I was an annoyance from the onset, failing to ask me pertinent questions relating to the post I have in my mouth, to her poor attitude. This is the worst dentistry I've ever been to. Hands down. They were not prepared, acted extremely unprofessional, and confused about the whole appointment, you know the appointment they make you wait weeks for, what a joke. Telling everyone in Waterset and the surrounding area to avoid this place like the plague. read more

First time visiting this office and it was a great experience. I had a horrible toothache and needed to be seen immediately. my regular dentist couldn't get me in for another week so I called Apollo Beach Dental Excellence and they were able to squeeze me same day. Dr. Nimer was a sweetheart as well as her assistant. Turns out I had a bad cavity and needed a root canal asap. They called several places and got me an appointment for the same day. I think they saw the pain I was in and didn't want to me continue suffering. So grateful for them. Will definitely come back to see them. read more

After years of not liking my two front teeth, I decided it was time to do something about it. I had a consultation to go over my options, questions, etc, and decided to go with crowns. Dr. Manny replaced my four front teeth with crowns, and even though I wasn't thrilled with the lengthy procedure, or the sensitivity that followed, I absolutely LOVE how my crowns look. Update 8/1/23: After speaking to several people at the practice, someone made the call to allow me to have a cleaning without another set of xrays this year - the (very nice) woman that made the appointment said that even though I didn't have to have new xrays THIS time, I would absolutely have to have a full set every two years, "per government regulation." LOL - it's not her fault, but please - the government does not regulate the number of xrays a person has, and if they did we should all be very scared. Again, everything about the practice is terrific apart from this one point, which to be fair might be the case everywhere now. After moving to Apollo Beach from Pinellas County, we needed to find a new Dentist. We discovered a great one in Dr Sean Gassett at Apollo Beach Dental Excellence. My first visit was recent and I only sat for about 5 minutes before being greeted by Missy. She did my cleaning and X-rays before Dr Gassett came in to 'fine tune' the experience. No cavities! Excellent news. The office is very bright and extremely clean. The whole staff did a great job and I will be back every 6 months or so to keep those cavities in check. read more

I was very pleased to finally have an appointment kept for a teeth cleaning, I was very pleased with my hygienist! However, a women came in and started naming how many crowns I would need and she had not introduced herself and then left. I was checking out and told I owed for a periodontal cleaning, which I knew I had not received, the receptionist went got the hygienist who confirmed this. However, February I paid when I knew I had not received a periodontal cleaning but the hygienist no longer worked there and since the "records" indicated I had received the cleaning I had to pay or be turned over to a collection agency! I asked to make an appointment with dr. Shaw when checking out and was suddenly informed he was no long with the practice either! I was shocked! They also did ya know where he had gone? I recently moved to apollo beach and setup care here. I will not be going back. I was told I had two problem areas; (1) cracking and needed a crown and (2) a filling on another tooth. Cost ~2k after insurance. I went to another veteran dentist in town that didn't agree any work was needed and reported no tooth crack. Additionally this office doesn't offer amalgam if you actually required work. They were friendly and professional. I believe in terms of care they have your best interest in mind. As for the unnecessary care recommendation, If you are a patient ask questions and have them show you pictures/ x-ray to prove the care recommendation. The office did feel like a factory/revenue focused operation. Not a welcome healthcare environment. read more

My husband and I both go to Apollo Beach dental excellence. They are very fair with their pricing and assessment of what needs to be done. We don't have to wait very long in the waiting room either. I have had a tooth removed and replaced there also with no incident. We are very confident they are going to do a great job at my husbands tooth removal and replacement as well. Worse service ever. I had an appointment scheduled for routine cleaning. I received a text notification and request to confirm that I would be there. I confirmed as requested. I show up to my appointment and they tell me that the hygentist wasn't in today. It sure would have been nice to have been notified so I didn't drive there and waste my time. Also, this place is like a revolving door for dentists. I've yet to be seen by the same person twice. They come and go and the names on the door change each time I go there. I woke up with a toothache which was getting worse. I called to try to get an appointment which I was able to get. 30 minutes later their office called me with an earlier appointment. I was so grateful. Dr Beck was fantastic. She explained what the problem was and offered several treatment options. She then scheduled my oral surgery for later the same afternoon. The whole staff was great and very attentive. They also worked to reduce my costs without me even asking. Going to the dentist is not supposed to be this pleasant but this practice is the best. We just get the best service with the office. Dr Kim Shaw is an excellent Dentist. My husband had broken one of his implants. They got us in right away and told us what would need to be done. Since it was a holiday week they suggested we come in the following Monday so they could remove his upper implants and get them to the lab and fixed and back in place. So we come in at 7am. The next day at noon we were back in and got his implants back in. Great office and great staff right here on Apollo Beach! read more

These guys yanked a tooth for my mom. They were good with scheduling over the phone and got her in promptly when I called. We did the paperwork for her appointment online. She went in and didn't have to worry about paperwork. I paid for the treatment it was $134 for the tooth extraction and treatment. We have the Cigna discount family plan. Overall these guys did a good job. Before I moved I had a full set of xrays and cleaning but I will schedule my future treatment here. read more

I would highly recommend Dr. Sean Gassett at Apollo Beach Dental Excellence. Dr. Gassett has outstanding credentials and experience. He and his staff are professional and caring. I have had several significant dental procedures completed over the past year. Dr. Gassett was able to save an aching molar by giving the tooth a crown. Also, Dr. Gassett expertly and painlessly extracted a cracked tooth and root. After the gum was thoroughly healed Dr. Gassett implanted the new tooth. Dental assistants are great and that is where it stops. I thought I had found a local dentist I could trust, but not the case. After more than a year's treatment and several attempts to obtain a quality partial, (one that didn't break after a few days to weeks, had the correct number of teeth in place, was made to fit the impression and had teeth of the same length as my own) I finally threw in the towel. My opinion is the dental labs this guy uses are substandard and my guess is he continues to use them to put more cash in his pocket. I can think of no other reason that he would continue to provide his patients with substandard products. If you enjoy the shake down for cash at every appointment, this is the place for you. As a patient with dental insurance and plenty of cash for deductibles, I found this practice degrading.
