Other than oppressive heat, this golf course has it all - challenging holes interspersed with some easier ones. Beautiful landscaping - like a walk in a forested park. Didn't get a rain check after paying $45 for 18 and only getting to play 4 holes because we played after twilight. No heads up before the round, just took our money. Safe to say the most expensive 4 holes I've ever played. read more

We had a late flight to catch so we booked a last minute tee time for Pines. We were able to rent golf clubs. The course was in great condition. The Marshall kept us informed on a bit of slow play we might encountered but it wasn't too bad for a Sunday. I definitely recommend checking out this course. read more

Never disappointed at Eagle creek. The grass is always extremely well maintained even during period of heat and dryness. The course is very challenging and fun at the same time both the sycamore and pines as well as price is very reasonable for the quality of the course. Would play over and over again. read more

Played eagle creek sat 04-08-23. Pro shop was pretty lame. Not a lot of merchandise available. Brighter note was the price and accommodating staff. Golf course was hilly @ times which made things a little more challenging. For this time of year I expected brown grass but to my surprise the fairways were green and the greens were relatively speedy and well maintained. The pace of play was great. Just over 3 hrs. No GPS on carts. No beer cart girl. I would recommend playing eagle creek. read more

Great piece of land, great property. They have two 18 hole courses, the "Sycamore" and the "Pines". Sycamore is considered the better course at par 71, opposed to the Pines at par 72. Both have tree lined fairways, Sycamore has more water. The Pines turn ends at the clubhouse, so you can grab drinks/snacks before the back nine. Unfortunately, but duly noted, the Sycamore course does not come back to the clubhouse after the front nine, nor does it have a half way house, so stock up up drinks/snacks when you tee off! read more

It's 5:20 on September 3. And the club house is closed? We started at 3:20 and have a kid who wants a snack but closed for the day. This is our second time playing at this time and no one in the snack shop and no cart person. Epic fail. I've been to this course quite a lot. Not a bad price for 18 with cart. 2 courses is very nice to choose between if u get bored of the same one! Back course is beautiful for the middle of Indiana. Only drawback is it's consistently packed and my rounds always end up being about 5+ hours with slow pace of play. Definitely a course to play during the week with less people! read more

Played the Sycamore course back in March and wasn't too impressed. Their weekend summer rate before noon is $49, which is far too much for this course. If you can get on for $30 during the summer, then it would be worth it. Found it odd how the 9th green doesn't lead to the clubhouse. In fact, you're on the complete opposite side of the course from the clubhouse. There is no "turn". The person working the desk knew it was my first time playing here and failed to mention this. So I was left quite parched. While playing I found myself lost because their signage was completely wrong. I went from number 2 or 3's green to number 12's tee? I searched for 15 minutes (thinking I was going crazy) before calling the front desk. They put me on hold for 10 minutes. Had to hang up and call again. The guy asked if he could put me on hold again. Ummmm... NO! Turns out the correct signage had blown away or something?? The condition/layout of this course would get 4 out of 5 stars, but the customer service definitely takes away a star. I wouldn't consider this a "must play". read more

Club house was basic and it was hard to get food between 9 holes. Conditions were just ok. There was trash on the course, no golf ranger to start during busy days, driving range wasn't open yet. Good things- grass was well kept for the price, the golf carts were new, and the holes were perfect if you don't want an incredibly difficult game and not a beginners game either. But at the end of the day, it's golf. You have fun, compete, and are enjoying the outdoors! read more

The course was in the best shape of anywhere I have played, seriously the fairways are like putting greens however the staff in the pro-shop was very unhelpful and not friendly. They are always busy with a starter the whole day, that being said it was a 5 hour round. Loved the experience and history of the place but at $75 a person we will pick somewhere else next time. read more

I played Eagle Creek (Pines and Sycamore) for the first time in 2014. My entire experience was absolutely flawless - from the customer service of pro shop to the prestige condition of the course. Matt, the Director of Golf, was the most polite, accommodating man I have met at an Indiana golf course. He made my group feel very welcome - and gave us some advice for our first round. He even told us to swing by after 9 holes - and he would have hot dogs ready. Matt obviously knows how to maximize the customer experience and keep them coming back. I have already scheduled my company outing here in May 2015. If you are looking for an affordable, sub 4 hour round on a solid public course - EC is a must. read more

The Sycamore course makes for a very pleasant round, with a beautiful mix of woods, hills, fields, and lakes. One of the very best options for an early morning round in the city! Unfortunately, however, the course staff is often rude, the facilities are very busy (and not with the best clientele), and the Pines course is one of the more bland options around. If I played 100 rounds at Eagle Creek I'd sign up for 85 or so of them on the Sycamore. read more

Course was in decent shape. Greens were really bumpy and inconsistent. The customer service is the biggest problem. They have a lady that is so old, it is embarrassing. She messed our order up twice. This course is a city course managed by a private company. The course is beautiful, well placed water, vast, brilliant par 5's and a wild setting. The course actually used to be comprised of an 18 hole Championship course designed by Pete Dye that was close to pro caliber, and a 9 hole duffer's course. Some years ago, the Parks Dept. built another 9 and then divided the duffer's course and the new 9 between the two Championship 9's. So now it is very difficult to get to play the original design in its original configuration. They have also raised the price vastly since privatization and kept the price on the better course (the Sycamore) at a premium. Now for a sad note: I have noticed the management tends to funnel average joe type players (like me) to the course with the duffer's 9, and reserves the better course (Sycamore) for those attending corporate and political outtings. In my observation having played here for 25 years, they effectively run this public course, owned by the taxpayers, like an elitist type country club where they divide the customers by class. Shame because this is a public course that belongs to the taxpayers. Shame because Eagle Creek used to be the place where every Indy resident could test his or her skills on a truly challenging and professional level course, now you must pay a either pay a premium, be affiliated with a corporate event, or pass some kind of elitist litmus test with the guy at the desk. Taxpayer-- don't go there with your hand me down clubs and t-shirt and sneakers or you may likely be told the course is full and be re-directed with a smirk, like I was, to the charming, but known duffer's paradise, Thatcher. I wonder what other "class" of citizens is being directed there. Still, I go back because it is a beautiful course and my taxes paid for it. i just make a point to insist on the Sycamore course. I feel it's necessary to preface my review with the statement that I've actually never played golf at this golf course. It's not for lack of trying. Both times I booked tee times on-line. On the 1st visit I was was told that they didn't have a tee time for me. Then I was called after I left to be told that my actual tee time was for the previous day. I couldn't believe that this was the case but I found another course in the area which took walk ins and had a great time playing that course. The 2nd attempt was again no golf because there was an outing taking place that day and I was informed that the course was not opened for public play that day. So I would say that having never played this golf course, my experience has been mainly lack of communication between myself and the staff. read more
