If I could give it a ZERO I would. I booked a reunion event…read morewith this place for a group of friends who have been friends since second grade, 60 years. We spent over $2300.00 for the Sunday through Thursday package. At check in we unfortunately spilled a cooler in the room. I immediately went got the front desk and alerted them that we would need a cleanup. upon our arrival from fishing, we caught one fish, the water had been untouched. I again went to the front desk and asked for a mop and a bucket. Two mops appeared but no bucket to ring out the mops, so we had to wring the mops out in the shower by pressing them with our shoes. The water was black with filth. The rooms were filthy and smelly as we were next to the bait room. Someone had left strong scented candles to mask the smell. Poorly maintained equipment was noted. One day we were pull out and my friends boat lost an engine due to it not being tight to the transom. Just popped off as he hit many of the stumps in the lake. The water was about three feet low per staff. The hot tub had non functional nozzles making it uncomfortable and unless. It was also bug filled. Get a damn cover. One day I waited 35 minutes for bait because the dock hand left to get his knives to clean fish for another client, leaving everyone else waiting. I talked with a fellow fisherman who had contracted a guide, who took them to another lake, catching a cooler full of fish. Last day a huge COCKROACH appeared on our bed. When I complained, the manager, I believe it was a son of the owner, stated, "Then DONT come back". I accept this redheads proposal, I WILL NEVER RECOMMEND, NOR GO TO THE BLUE BANK RESORT again. You too should stay away from this little slice of H.E.L.L.

My wife and I live full time in our camper. When we leave reviews we leave only fair and honest…read morereviews. My wife and I stayed at Sportsman Resort for 1 month. Sportsman Resort has a North Location and a South location. We stayed at the North location. Here is a list of the pros and cons- Pros: 1) North location only has 3 rv spots so your not crammed in like sardines or crowded 2) Rv spots are paved and level 3) Plenty of room/space between rv spots 4) Right on lake Reelfoot so if you have a boat or like to fish it's perfect 5) Showerhouse and bathroom on site. Cons: 1) SO FAR away from anything. 20 mins to a dollar store and a Dairy Queen or Sonic. 1 hour from a Walmart or laundry. 2) No phone signal. I had one bar from time to time but it was always hit or miss. 3) There is only one electrical pole/box for the three RV sites. All three spots draw power from that one pole/box. So if there is two 50 Amp campers on site and both campers are running 2 ac units at the same time someone is getting there breaker tripped. Worse it could do damage to the AC. 4) No cable tv hookup 5) Showerhouse and bathroom is a nice feature but they need to clean it more often and clean it properly. For the first two weeks I was here I hardly ever saw anybody cleaning it. Then the last two weeks they were cleaning it daily but it was not being done thorough. There is corn bread, a fork, a bar of soap and a hotel style conditioner bottle still sitting inside of the old school paper towel dispenser that was there when I first got there till the day I left, when I FINALLY removed it for them. 6) BUG CENTRAL. It would be nice if they could spray for bugs. With being right on the lake and out in the country every time I open my door I had 1 million bugs coming in no matter what time of day it was. 7) No laundry on site. You have to go on an hour to do laundry either in Union City or Dyersburg. 8) Pool was out of order during end of summer. Other reviews from two years ago said that the pool was out of order. Did it ever get fixed? Would've liked to use it. Overall Sportsman's resort North was a decent RV park. With it being out in the country and only having three spots I would definitely return in the future. In my opinion this place could be so much better if you just added a better electrical set up so you wouldn't have to worry about having tripped breakers or messed up electrical stuff in your camper, if you added a laundry facility, thoroughly cleaned your bathroom/Showerhouse and got better Wi-Fi so your RV park residence could use their smart phones and not be cut off from the world. Again I would rate this park two stars. If there was not the issue with the one electrical box/pole and then I would rate this place higher but I don't want somebody to have electrical issues with their RV because they were not properly informed. Not terrible but not for everyone.

This is a review solely on the North Location. I can say this with all honesty. I would NEVER stay…read morehere again. Never. This so-called "resort" drew myself and 2 friends in due to it's price. $169 per person for 3 nights and a boat and bait for 3 days. I suppose you get what you pay for. When we arrived, I thought "hey this place is quaint"... but my opinion changed pretty quickly when I actually went INTO the cabin. Wasps and spiders abound. Ants in the kitchen, bugs plastered on all the windows. Evident that the place had not been thoroughly cleaned in quite a while. Signs up that we needed to clean the place before leaving. Isn't that their job? Also, we were told that there would be no turn-down service. This would be ok, but we were given some attitude for even asking for extra toilet paper. Sheets are from 1964 or so. Beware bed bugs. And there was no curtain in the upper loft with a streetlight shining directly into the room. Hard to sleep in that kind of situation. We woke up the next morning getting ready to go fishing. This is where everything hit the fan. A couple had come in to the bait shop before we got in, and it was pretty evident they werent too happy with the accommodations either. The Lady at the desk asked me what I thought, and I didn't lie about the situation. But I did say that I would have mentioned it earlier if I were that upset. She ended up ranting at me for a good fifteen minutes about how this place had been operating for 25 years and they had people coming back every year. "They only place you're guaranteed anything is Walmart" they said. So much for Customer Service. The couple that were in the bait shop first had been setting up the boat and talking with my friends about how rude the lady was and how their room was in ruins. She stormed outside told the man to come inside. She started screaming at him and threateing to call the police if they didn't leave. And refused them a refund after having stayed only one night out of their alotted three. Of course they were happy enough to just pack up and leave. She wasn't too happy when we asked that we have the boat transported to the south resort. She kept questioning me why I wanted to go down there. Put simply, the water level in the north basin was 3-8 feet, and in the south basin up to 22 feet. And people were catching fish there. We came back that night, checked out the grill. It hadn't been cleaned in ages. Their pool had been covered up, and when I checked under it, it was loaded with algae. Besides that, we got up the following morning, and simply asked if the boat had been kept at the south location... at which she raised her voice at me and told me that I was wrong for fishing in the south location... In all honesty. I didn't need to be lectured. We found another fishing resort... A real one... about 20 minutes away to stay at next time I head to reelfoot. Stay away from this place unless you want to be treated like trash and live in the dumps for a weekend. A complete nightmare.

On our first day we went to the office and inquired about borrowing a golf cart to transport our things between the dock and our cabin and were told they didn't have any. There were numerous Totten's golf carts around the premises and we saw other guests on them. We picked up some family members on the other side of the lake and brought them by boat to our resort. My father in law is disabled with a cane and had already fallen several times that day. He tried to walk up the hill himself and almost fell again. My husband went back to the marina to ask to borrow a golf cart but John was talking with someone inside watching my father in-law on the hill and laughing at him. Due to the urgency of my father in laws condition on the hill and the disrespect of John, my husband got in the Totten cart to pick up his dad and get him up the hill before he fell. After dropping him off, my husband brought the golf cart right back to the marina at which point John came outside and started cussing at my husband and threatening him saying he was going to call the sheriffs department for theft of the cart. The cart was already returned and John knew we are guests of the resort since we had to track him down 2 days in a row to try to buy ice from the marina. We couldn't believe that they would treat their customers that way in a situation of trying to help a disabled man on their property. We immediately checked out. I would not recommend this resort. Any family business should put family first and respect the fact that the property is difficult for people to get around. We had hoped to end our day with a nice family barbecue but instead it ended with our family being threatened for transporting a disabled man up the hill. In the future this resort should be more accommodating to their guests and offer to help people up the hill instead of laugh at them.
