Guns can be scary and unpredicable in the hands of uneducated users. I wanted to be comfortable…read morewith gun again and be informed to help other women/friends that are of my same mindset. I want to understand how to use, keep, and carry in the most safe and responsible way. Ann Arbor Arms is THE BEST range, store, and training facility for anyone from novice to professional/competitive shooter. It had been YEARS since I had handled a firearm. My biggest apprehension was if I could remember how to be safe from handling to firing to range. I joined A3 as an elite member last year but finally "pulled the trigger" (hehe) and signed up for a Ladies' Night last week. This was the best decision I could have made to reintroduce myself. Ladies' Night was from 5-7pm, with two hours of instruction and walk through before heading down to the range. Not only instruction but conversation, snacks and a safe space for women to ask any questions. A3 provided the sidearms and ammo. Everyone had a great time and was able to fire 12 shots at a target provided. I left with a lot more confidence to visit and expand my skill by leveraging the elite membership. I cannot say enough of how fantastic A3 is for a gun owner. They have tons of specials, sales, events and the membership perks are amazing. This was not my first visit or class but this was the first time I ever fired at this range. Hit me up if you have any questions or want to get a membership. Use my name and I'd get a referral bonus on my membership too ;) Definitely worth checking it out.

Everything from pistols, suppressors, reloading material and now they even have watches, knives, and clothing. The range staff keeps a close eye on the range and addresses issues to prevent a safety issue. The ranges are temperature controlled and in great working order. They are suitable for pistol or initial rifle setup but you really need an outdoor 100 yard range if you want to dial in for hunting. I have not taken any classes there yet but have heard good things from others. They can take your from the basics to advanced. I see the shooters who have taken classes and it shows.

After 38 years away from home, I finally returned to Michigan…read more Between an Army career, a Department of War career, and then trying life in Florida--which just was not for me--I finally decided it was time to come home. My wife and I have both been longtime concealed carry permit holders in Colorado, Utah, and Florida. Somewhere along the way, we also became NRA instructors, ran a tactical training company, and even earned titles as competitive Cowboy Action shooters. So, needless to say, we have been around the block a time or two when it comes to concealed carry, firearms training, and instruction from both sides of the classroom. With that said, let me be clear: you will not be disappointed with the concealed carry class at Peacemakers. Brad is a straight shooter, and I can honestly say I have never experienced a concealed carry class like this one--in a very good way. Most concealed carry classes are built almost entirely around the brand-new shooter. They often move at a painfully slow pace: "This is a gun. This is the front of the gun. This is the rear of the gun." Brad does not waste mindless hours on unnecessary minutiae. He teaches what matters, keeps the class moving, and focuses on the information students actually need. Another thing I noticed right away was the complete lack of bravado. In the firearms world, many instructors teach to tell you how great they are, how much they know, and how they basically invented gunpowder. That is not what you get here. Brad teaches with humility. He is confident, knowledgeable, and direct, yet there is no ego in the room. That alone is a rare find in the gun world. Too many instructors use their students as a stage to show off. Brad does not do that. His focus is on teaching, not on performing. I also found Peacemakers' approach to the concealed carry class refreshing and, honestly, a bit novel. Brad's teaching style kept the class grounded and left little room for the usual "know-it-all" behavior that sometimes shows up in firearms courses. He controlled the room well, kept the material on point, and ensured the focus stayed where it belonged. The range portion, in my opinion, was brilliant. The use of 50 rounds was efficient, precise, and well thought out. It moved like a military operation, which I greatly appreciated. I have seen too many classes take a simple 30-round qualification and drag it out until it feels like hot pokers in the eyes. That was not the case here. All in all, this is a good class, taught the right way by the right kind of instructor. If you need to get your concealed carry permit, Peacemakers is the place. It is worth the drive, and you will not be disappointed. Great job, Peacemakers. Keep Up the Fire.
