I purchased lift tickets for this weekend about a month ago because the website advertised that prices would increase as the date got closer. I checked today and the exact same tickets are now selling for about half of what I paid in advance. I called to ask if they would offer a price adjustment and was told there was absolutely nothing they could do. That was really disappointing, especially since the messaging on the website strongly encourages buying early to avoid higher prices later. Unfortunately, this will be my first and last trip to this mountain. I'll be sticking with Brian Head in the future. The loud cycling of the heating system made sleeping impossible on the first floor. We stayed in Polestar B9, with six guests total. The three guests that stayed on the ground floor were unable to sleep due to the unbelievably loud cycling of the heating system that occured every ~20 minutes. It is a beautiful and very comfortable residence with a lovely view and great modern appliances. However, due to the two sleepless nights that I endured, I will not be recommending this place to anyone. read more

This review is only for the accommodation part. Not skiing. We rented apartment through Eagle point resort for 3 nights. A lot of people rent through Airbnb- but I found- renting directly is cheaper and is just as good. We stayed in the Wooded Ridge, apartment 11. It's first floor, so anything on the second floor- you hear every pin drop. We do have two toddlers, so it didn't bother us. I definitely didn't want to bother others. And in the night time we used white noise machine, so we didn't hear anything. Actual place is equipped with everything you need. Like kitchen, and towels and bedding. No issues there. Make sure to bring everything with you when it comes to groceries. I mean EVERYTHing! Salt, oil, if you are vegetarian (or specially vegan) don't expect to find anything in Beaver. Also- chains is a must. We went end of March. And snow was knee high. It was a blizzard too. Kids and I loved playing in the snow. We didn't ski. But it seems like a wonderful place for it. I made a stop here on my way to Salt Lake and ended up staying 2 nights and snowboarding both days. The room was pretty cool right on the mountain although snow conditions weren't the best for ski in ski out room. I got a flat tire the first night I was there (Sunday night) and there was nothing to be done until the next day. I gotta praise and give a shout out to Steven, he's part of the maintenance team there and he saved my ass. He went above and beyond to help me swap my tire out and get me back on the road. Also shout out Blake one of the managers there who made sure I was taken care of and kept me in the loop of things. No one had to go out of their way to help me , but they did anyway. Limited runs, insufficient staffing, low quality food, all at a premium price. If you're expecting a vast mountain to conquer, think again. The runs are limited, so if you're hoping for variety, look elsewhere because you'll find yourself doing laps on the same slopes over and over. When I went, they only had two VERY slow lifts open. The lodge food is priced as you would expect, but worse than school-lunch quality. The place was completely understaffed with only one person taking orders, one person taking payment, and then the poor cook in the back running the kitchen solo. I do want to say that every single staff member I spoke with on the mountain was very courteous and helpful, but that doesn't make up for everything else Eagle point has to offer. If you're hoping for a quality resort that matches the lift ticket pricing, look elsewhere. read more

The accommodations were spacious, reasonably priced, and well-equipped, and the skiing was fantastic. Definitely a hidden gem. We stayed in one of the two bedroom Wooded Ridge condos and it was very comfortable for our family of five. We reserved ski lessons for our 8 year old for the first time and the instructor was great--our son was able to catch on very quickly. We love that kids 12 and under ski free, and it is not crowded. There are not a ton of options for food, but we brought some food up to make at the condo. A few of us got a bit of altitude sickness, so come prepared! Super impressed w the service I received today/ ski patrol- Mark was super helpful from the beginning of my day. Went to sign up for Lessons for my 7 yr old and Chad and Darrin went above and beyond in getting me the help I needed. Darrin was super patient with my daughter and she started out as a tough girl to please I'll just say that. She came back w a smile on her face and was ready to ski with our group. It takes a village to raise kiddos and everyone really stepped up. We will Definitely be back. Highly recommend. Great snow and runs as well. They do not enforce the mask wearing guidelines posted on the property. There were a lot of visitors not wearing masks nor did the staff care to tell the people who weren't wearing masks to please put one on. I have witnessed It both indoor and out (when not 6ft apart) in front of staff. I was pretty shocked and felt that the signs were just for show or to keep the resort open. Not sure but was definitely not being enforced. The beginners lift was closed because there isn't enough snow up here. The more advanced areas were open but the snow is very thin. read more

I am a fan of Utah Skiing, but not of the long trip to Salt Lake City to get some in. Having skied in Southern Utah before at Brianhead, I am a big proponent of the lack of lines and the exceptional snow you find here. Eagle Point is a little smaller than many of the ski resorts in California, but for the 2012-2013 season, they are offering FREEEEE SKIIIIING for California residents (with proof of residency). I know this sounds too good to be true, but it is. After spending a week here with slope-side accommodations, I can truly say that I had a blast. We got dumped on early and had 4 feet of powder to enjoy. This was the nice fluffy powder that Utah is legendary for. A word of caution, though. The resort is at a high elevation, so take it easy for the first few days, especially if you are staying slope-side. People do get altitude sickness, as my sister did. Lots of water and limit the caffeine and alcohol at first. You will be grateful for the advice. Regardless, if you want something fresh and unspoiled, try Eagle Point. The most unprofessional establishment I have ever encountered. We stopped in here for lunch with our 2 sons. We ordered Mac and cheese and meatballs for the kids and two simple burgers. The mac and cheese was so horrible my 4 year old refused to eat it. My husband and I immediately noticed our burgers were cold and didn't even look like real meat. We informed the waitress we didn't want them and she took them back. We let her know we will not be paying $28 for food we didn't eat. She then proceeded to tell us her manager said we had to pay because we ordered it. Mind blowing considering we didn't eat it lol. The head chef/manager with gaged ears came out, and didn't like what we had to say so he proceeded to drop the f bomb multiple times in front of my kids and proceeded to try and "kick" my husband out. We were happy to pay for what was consumed, but in what world do you pay for food you don't consume that doesn't even seem edible? I wouldn't tell my worst enemy to come to this establishment. Stay far far farrrrrrrrrrrrrr away unless you want your children to hear curse words and be served inedible food. The manager was adamant on saying "so you refused to pay" no we don't refuse to pay, we refuse to pay for the food you took back and wasn't consumed. Don't expect quality accommodations like the big resorts or amazing food! The lodges are extremely small. But EVERYONE... every single person was so nice & helpful!! Love that we don't have to wear masks here, I mean it's outside, and we are exercising. I would hate to have to wear a mask at a high altitude while exercising, I would likely pass out and crash into a tree. If they were to start enforcing a mask mandate, it would be unsafe to ski, and I will not ski here. read more

It was my first time snowboarding in Utah and I had a BLAST! Kudos to the staff at the Eagle Point Ski Resort in Beaver Utah! The resort was called something different a few years back, when the previous owners went bankrupt. New Owners came in about 5 years ago and revitalized the place. Glad they did! The resort is located at about 9500' elevation and the summit was about 10,500'. LITTLE OXYGEN! That made it even more fun! Everyone at the ski resort or on the mountain were super nice and cool. They all are working very hard to make this a great destination for snow sports! Ski tickets are reasonable at $58 per person, and a bit cheaper for kids. If you stay at the resort, several of the special ski days are free. The mountains have some wonderful runs - green, blue, black. I would say that about 90% of the runs were open. There were a few spots where there wasn't enough snow and the rocks were sticking out of the snow (which scraped and knicked my snowboard). Not a problem, as the beuaty of the place more than made up for the little scrapes. Special kudos go out to Ski Taxi Bus driver Chuck who was a super star in custeromservice. Also wanted to send a shout out to Jessie, who was just a residet of the Beaver area who jumpped into the service area to help out the staff when they were bombarded with other clients. His wife called him off the snow to wax my snowboard, as she knew that I was waiting patiently fro my turn. Also a huge kudos go out to Colton (I know that isn't your name, but it is close to it). This was my first time in Utah and took a quick 3-day trip from the LA area to this amazing resort. All I have to say is this place is fantastic! I got a deal for only $43 (lift ticket and ski rental) through lyftopia.com and it was for a Thursday in late January. Unfortunately, the place is kind've in the middle of nowhere if you ask me. Granted, it is off of highway 15 which is heavily traveled by many people across the nation but it's just a little south of Central Utah. I really wanted to go to Park City (which I'll do eventually) but honestly I was super impressed with this location considering it wasn't busy and in the boonies. The process was simple and we got our rental gear quickly without a line or anything (something I'm used to going to ski resorts around LA). The staff working there were very attentive and friendly which was super awesome. Since it was a Thursday (and in late January as mentioned), there was hardly anyone there. I looked at the parking lot when we arrived and there were maybe 30 cars in the parking lot. How awesome is that?! No waits at the ski lifts and an endless day of snow fun. I'm so glad we chose this place (especially since we were about to go to Brian Head) and I would definitely recommend it to anyone else. I am planning on coming back again to Utah for skiing. P.S. We had a little trouble finding the actual spot to park our car because the whole ski resort is actually split with the main road going through it. When you're coming up the mountain, the parking for the ski lift will be on the left. You have to take the road up a little ways (maybe a minute or two) and then you find yourself at the parking lot. read more

My wife and I picked Eagle Point somewhat blindly for a Utah ski trip. We were not disappointed! The staff were friendly and made us feel like it was our resort. There were practically no lift lines and a good variety of terrain. The snow was incredible. We traveled from our home back east in January. We had such a great time we have airline tickets booked for a trip back at the end of February. Oh, btw. While we were at Eagle Point in January, we decided to drive down to Brian Head for a little night skiing. BH may be ok for some, but we won't be going back. This review is for the Eagle Point Bar & Grill. My husband and I stopped in while we were on a drive. We had heard the food was ok and we were starving. We walked in and stood by the hostess area waiting to be seated. After standing there waiting while wait staff walked by ignoring us, we finally asked another diner if we were supposed to just seat ourselves. We went to a table and set down. I was looking around with a kinda bad vibe, but we were trying to make the best out of the fact we were 30 minutes from the next closest restaurant. There were 6 other diners in the restaurant at the time, so things weren't looking real promising. Our server was a nice girl who advised us that we better order now, because between the hours of 4-5 they only serve appetizers and it was about 3:55. She took our drink orders and left us with the meal menu while she went to grab an ID scanner since I'd ordered an alcoholic hot chocolate. She came back with her scanner and ran my ID. That is when I found out my drivers license had expired 3 days earlier on my birthday. She noticed that the date shows that I'm 42 years old so she goes back to see if she can serve me. She comes back and says she was told "No! My ID is expired and won't scan. They can't serve anyone without scanning an ID". My husband says "ok, well, I'll have the spiked hot chocolate and my wife will have a large root beer". She takes our dinner order and walks away. A couple of minutes later our server is back with our drinks. She serves my husband his spiked hot chocolate and me my root beer. She then says, "be careful drinking that drink. There are cameras everywhere". I laughed it off and took a sip of my husbands hot chocolate. Before the liquid could hit my belly, a guy (I refuse to say gentlemen) stands behind me and say "Excuse me sir. If she takes one more drink out of that glass, I'm going to have to ask you to leave. I have you on camera letting her drink that drink". I turned to him and said "excuse me! I'm 42 freaking years old. Why are you not addressing me?" He wouldn't speak to me at all, but kept addressing my husband who was as concussed as anyone. I wasn't breaking any laws. Last I checked, you were legal to drink at the age of 21. I'm twice that age and the guy treated us as though we were snot nose little kids trying to pull one over on him. I looked at him and said "Here, I'll make this easy on you. Here's $20 for the drink". And we left. I have never in my life had anything like that happen to me. The level of disrespect from this guy who knew dam well I was plenty old enough to order a stupid drink was unbelievable. I wouldn't step foot back in that place if I was paid. I understand that rules are rules and if they for whatever reason didn't want to serve me because my license expired 3 days earlier, fine. But the guy that thought he should come out, try to embarrass us, treat me like some woman that should be sat in the corner and keep her mouth shut, was the most ignorant man I think I have ever dealt with. The staff was moody, unhelpful and looked miserable. I understand why. I think I would be too having to work with that jack ass. Over all, I will never go back and I will advise anyone and everyone thinking of going to just save their time and find a different place. read more

They both are AMAZING. They took time to work with my family and my kids. Everyone was the resort is super awesome and friendly. Price is very reasonable as well. Cafe is ok with several good options. They offer ski and snowboarding rental, chair ticket, and lessons. The lady working the ticketing was super friendly even gave me an Easter chocolate a day early. The Ski patrol helped me with getting my pass attached to my pants. He also let me know which chair I should hop on. Plenty of intermediate runs to do. Full moon was a fun one. Was only there for a half day but definitely need to plan another trip to tackle the other runs. The lifties were super friendly and had great positive vibes the entire time. Poor staffing, poor service. Beautiful new lodge and facilities. They have one person at the counter that sells tickets, provides information, and sells gear. Even a short line goes very slowly. They really need a second person for sales and to provide information - maybe some signs to reduce confusion about how to get to the lift. There is no place to eat your own food that you have brought. We bought drinks at the lodge to eat with food that we brought in and they kicked us to go outside where there was no place to sit. I was the only person standing at the bar and was completely ignored by 2 bartenders. Not classy! The second peak is next to useless. It's so flat that you will get stuck if you don't go as fast as possible. The main peak is mostly blacks that quickly get chopped up. There is maybe 1 decent blue. I had a good time with my friend and made the best of it, but this place had its share of disappointments. Treat customers better! read more

First time back in a while and under the new ownership. I was greeted and made to feel welcome from the time I walked through the door. Found the bar, ordered a beer and the highly recommended rib eye. Super fresh dinner salad showed up promptly with the best homemade blue cheese dressing. I skied Eagle point for the first time on Christmas Eve. It was DESERTED!! there couldn't have been more than 300 people there. NO lift lines and fresh tracks almost all day long! Their upper two lifts service easy/intermediate terrain. Although I found these to be rather boring, they'd be great for kids or those new to skiing/snowboarding. Their lower lift serves predominately expert runs. They had received several feet of snow over the previous days so this was great. They have another lift that also serves this area but it is out of service for the season. To access all of this area you'll have to walk a little and then be picked up by a small snow cat. All of the staff were very friendly and a couple of them even helped push my little Honda out of a snow bank, thanks fellas! On that note, chains or 4x4 are required on the road leading to the resort. I didn't use chains and had no problem getting up there, it was just the parking lot that was particularly slick. However, the road leading to the resort was well plowed and pretty dry. It has sections where the grade approaches 9% so the drive would have been difficult if it were icy or snowing. The upper lodge is small but nice enough. The lower lodge is larger but I didn't go in. My only gripe is that there is that one of their lifts was not operating so you had to take a shuttle bus in order to get from the lower lodge to the upper lodge. Went to eagle point for the first time driving from Vegas to snowboard and have a great get away weekend. When we arrived into our cabin the toilet was broken, we had to refill the tank with water after every flush, there was NO try wood inside, all the wood was outside and it was all wet from it snowing so starting a fire was impossible, and my boyfriend stepped on not one but TWO old rusted fishing hooks on the living room floor. The resort it's self is nice and not crowded but there was a lady, I'm assuming she is a manager of the resort, that was constantly nagging at employees in front of customers and over the walkie talkies the entire time! No matter where we went or what we were doing she was constantly yelling at her employees, which made us uncomfortable and I'm sure it was embarrassing for her employees. I hope if we go back we will have a better experience. read more

I just came back from a weekend at this resort and was mightily impressed. The staff was all very friendly, the prices of lift tickets at $30/day was great value. And the mountain was empty! We're talking a Saturday and Sunday people, and I was not being crammed in a line or being chased down a mountain by hundreds of other skiers and riders. The food at the Outpost Grill in one of the two lodges was very good. This is so worth the extra 45 minutes drive from Las Vegas instead of stopping at Brian Head. Our group found lift ticket/ gear rental deals online too at the liftopia website. So it cost $46 for all-day rental and lift ticket. What a bargain. If you buy the deal on liftopia though, it's non-refundable. So if you get sick or too hungover and can't make it to the ski the next day, the resort will not refund your money because you bought the deal through a 3rd party. The ski school staff was very friendly. I liked that you could go and have lunch with your kids if you wanted. It was an intimate vibe that you don't get from larger ski resorts. This resort also boasts the loooongest tube run in North America. I didn't bring chains or cables for my compact front wheel drive car. But after witnessing a couple of snow storms and seeing that this resort has limited resources to plow (compared to say.... Vail), I'd advise bringing cables or chains if your car is not equipped to drive snowy roads. read more

We just spent a week-long vacation in southern Utah and had the privilege of visiting just after a recent snow storm. We hit Brian Head first, then Eagle Point Ski Resort. Both resorts were an amazing value ($30 lift tickets mid-week after a fresh snow) - definitely worth the drive from San Diego. We stayed at the Abbey Inn in Cedar City. The drive was an easy (1 1/2 hour?) drive up the 15. The windy roads up the mountain were plowed and felt safe. Skiing: great new operation. Snow conditions were great. Completely uncrowded with NO lift waits (at least mid-week). Mellow, friendly, older-hippie staff. Wonderful place to learn to ski or snow board - uncrowded, wide runs. Greens were true greens, blues were true blues, blacks were true blacks. The upper mountain was mostly blue and green trails. The lower mountain was mostly blacks (ungroomed, long, gnarly steeps) with a couple of long blue trails. Lower lodge was really cozy. Only 2 gripes: 1. Once you're on the lower mountain, you have to take a shuttle bus to get back up to the top. 2. On the lower mountain, there's a deceptive blue trail on the map that appears to be a really long, wrapping trail around the mountain (bypassing some black trails) - we took this and ended up carrying our skis through the flat (well, actually uphill) portion of the trail. There's a lift not yet in operation that would have serviced this section - would have been nice to know before we started to schlep our gear. Otherwise, this was an awesome deal and it's certainly worth the trek to get here! read more

Some of the rudest employees I have ever met , I can see why this place was so empty. Most of the trails were closed . The staff in the bar (aka Cam )needs to take a class in customer service . So we had read recently that Eagle Point had blocks of ski in ski out lots for sale on KSL. Thinking this might be a great place to invest and Utah's hidden gem, we packed up our car from Northern Utah and headed down to ski and scope out the place. A few precursors. Being from Salt Lake, we ski the best snow and some of the best terrain around. So I completely was expecting podunk. Also, a few days before our visit, a huge wind storm came through the state and apparently shut all power down to the resort for like 3 days. Understandable. Pros: - No people really at all. Certainly no lift lines or crowded slopes. - Friendly staff. Lifties were really enthusiastic about their mountain. - New and almost overly nice bar in main lodge with cold Wasatch on draft. - Affordable day passes and on resort overnight condo rentals. - BEAUTIFUL canyon drive from Beaver. Cons: - No people. Like seriously. It was way past spooky. Could definitely see myself going mad up here. Think The Shining. - Condo that we rented was completely falling apart. The absolute cheapest materials and shoddy workmanship. All the wooden decks in the complex were warped and barely hanging together with a few rusty nails. None of the doors fit the frames and scraped along the flooring or just couldn't close at all. Washer was broken. No wifi. Could hear every word of upstairs neighbors conversation and every step. - Food was bad. Granted, they lost everything that needed refrigeration due to the power outage, but still. We ordered Philly Cheesesteaks and there was zero flavor to them. There are no other dining options and we were starving so we ate it all. - The easier side of the mountain had almost no grade. Super slow and really flat. The steeper and more interesting side, only TWO runs are groomed. Apparently, the resort does not have the capabilities to groom all the other runs. Also, the trees have not been thinned at all. I'm sure the snow is great in there on a powder day, but it essentially goes to waste. There is so much potential for excellent skiing on this side of the mountain but either there isn't the money or the thought to actually improve the resort in that way. - Mt. Holly, the highest peak, was scraped absolutely bare for the top 500 ft. Every last speck of snow gone. So if you're interested in backcountry (ie hiking for the goods), you're competing with the wind at 12,000 ft. Overall it was a fun impromptu trip to check out a new Utah resort, but if you're used to skiing in Northern Utah, don't bother with Eagle Point. For the price and proximity, I can see why St. George and Vegas would be the target audience. And perhaps on a powder day, this place is epic. But this was my last trip to Eagle Point. read more

This was our second trip to Eagle Point Resort and we are already planning our return trip! We brought two other families with us with varying ski experience and everyone was delighted with the incredible conditions, beauty, lack of crowds, and service. This place is not: fancy. Eagle Point is unassuming and friendly - kinda like the hometown doc who still does house calls... These people really want you to have a pleasant experience and make every effort to take care of your needs - from taking the time to fit you correctly in rentals to the attentive, encouraging ski lessons. The lodge is adequate - a place to warm up with a small snack bar and small ski shop. No bar with fancy drinks, but you can get a beer. The food is pretty decent - and the burgers are very, very good! The snack bar can get overwhelmed at lunch when morning lessons are out, but if you can wait an hour or so later the place empties out fast. We've stayed in the mountain condo rentals and down in Beaver. Both are great, reasonable lodging options. Staying in the condos is nice for the space, proximity (ski in/ski out), and kitchen. It was also nice to stay in Beaver for the dining options (almost zero on the mountain). Boggles my mind why so many Californians cram the local mountains when Eagle Point is just a few hours further with its arms and runs W I D E open... read more

We've been up twice this year. There were only 5 runs open because of lack of snow but we had a good time. Everybody is nice and helpful. Lift lines weren't long and they enforce wearing masks while waiting for lift. The reason I gave a4 is the food quality at Skyline lodge. The meals both times were very poor. It's a beautiful place to eat. I suggest you bring your own food and eat in parking lot. read more

I have been here several times. Fresh powder days it is a must. When Brian Head is getting blown out Eagle Point seems more protected and not affected as much. The food is great. It is worth the extra 20 minute drive. It looks like they are installing snow making so even more days of riding up there. I can't wait for this season. Defiantly a hidden gem. Maybe I shouldn't give a good review so more mountain for myself. read more

The service at the bar was absolutely horrendous. The bartender was rude and even complained about making a margarita. I have never in my life seen such rude service from a bartender. Kam was his name so i suggest not going if he is working. I'm starting to see why this place is so empty all the time. Huge disappointment. Brian Head seems like a better resort. read more
