Super Great Cabin Style Camping; Near everything in that Area....Super Awesome Long Weekend getaway. Just a Beautiful Wilderness area with a Mild Modern Feel. Good Amenities and somewhat close to the nearest Suberban Supermarket; Bring your own Groceries and Lots of Ice;)))

Not our first time here but first time in one of the cabins. 10/20 recommend. Nice cabin great location. So much to do. Beautiful views. Peace and quiet. And a bonus NO phone service. Completely enjoyed our stay

It wouldn't take much to make this a great camping experience. It would start with owners paying attention and maintaining the property. I guess camping on dirt is ok if you are a RZR rider and want to boondock but to pay these prices for an improved campsite, you fall way short. Everything is very dirty and dusty. There is no speed limit enforced for RZR riding in the campground. Invest in some gravel for your RV sites. Fix all of the hookups that don't work Clean the restrooms and laundry rooms Empty trash more than once a week Fix things that are broken Dogs running loose against the rules ...no one to watch this RZR's speeding through the campground BBQ from the restaurant was better than expected and the value for the money was good. We had carryout back to our campsite. Staff in convenience store was polite and helpful but they can only do so much when they have to tend the store. Will look around for a better maintained campground in the area.

Excellent burgers, steaks, and the sweet potato fries are amazing! The staff are super friendly, and the live music was great!

Driving down 89 toward Bryce, we noticed the Caboose Village and had to pull over. This place is so cool! Each train car is uniquely decorated and designed - some with multiple bedrooms and full-kitchens. We stayed in Car #1, which has a comfortable sitting area, table, mini fridge, queen sized bed, bathroom... AND a loft with a groovy seating and sleeping area. We were mesmerized by the stars at night and overjoyed by the refreshing river during the day. We might've even tossed our dog in for a cool-down swim. :) My partner and I also had the great pleasure of chatting with the owners during our stay. Interesting, considerate, and overall pleasant folks. Please do yourself a favor and book with the Caboose Village while exploring this majestic part of the country.

Caboose Village has 12 mid century cabooses and train box cars that have been modified in to rustic hotel rooms. Here is a video walkthrough of the train cars: https://youtu.be/5eUHxdzYrTk They offer nicely appointed bathrooms, heating and air conditioning. Then depending on the train car, a kitchen or kitchenette with a fridge, coffee maker, microwave and in the large cars a stove. Along with towels and linens and comfy beds. Big Rock Candy Mountain is a destination stay. There are over 1,000 miles of off road trails on the Paiute Off Road Trails, white water rafting, have a lazy float down the river, go fishing, hiking or a bike ride on the Candy Mountain Express Bike Trail. Or check out Big Rock Adventure when you can go zip lining, rock climbing or try out their ropes course. There are old gold mines, historic sites and museums to see. Roast marshmallows by the fire and star gaze in the dark sky. Hope you enjoy it!

Absolutely enjoyed our stay. We spent two nights in the Caboose Village. Our Caboose was comfy, warm and wonderfully decorated. WI-FI and satellite television is a little spotty. But, who needs either with the resorts location in the center of so many great activities. 2,000 miles of ATV & Offroad trails, 6.5 mile paved bike path thru the canyon, fishing, river float and hiking. We loved renting E-bikes and riding from the Resort to Sevier and back. The Resort Restaurant where we ate breakfast, lunch and dinner was great as well. The staff was more than helpful. Thanks again to Kaylee, Bailey, and Nathan your hospitality was a great bonus too our stay.

Arrived with a large group renting over 80% of the resort, as we have done successfully at this location many times before but now with new owners. Checked in to the Zephyr which sleeps 8. They only had one key as guests LAST SEASON didn't return them. I guess keys don't matter when the back door doesn't lock anyway? Cool railcar but shredded cushions, fire pit table with no fuel tank, and serious lack of cleanliness was not impressive. Seated for dinner at 6 pm closest to the kitchen with staff walking by. We didn't get drinks(even water) nor were orders taken for 1.5 hrs. Other tables seated, served and left. Locals seemed well cared for. At 8:09, half the orders had to change because they ran out of food. We were served at 8:30, 2.5 hours after being seated without silverware, napkins, refills & were left fending for ourselves. I received a pile of brisket fat replacing my original order of Tri-tip. I'm not talking just fatty meat. I am talking fat and not meat on a pile of soggy nacho chips floating in 7-11 style nacho cheese with a blob of sour cream for extra sogginess. My husband received 4 very small ribs with little meat. Perhaps that was all that was left ? Years prior we were blown away by great food in the middle of nowhere. The waitress ran all night but was annoyed & stated repeatedly that she was going to get fired for yelling at so many people. Keep in mind that this was booked well over a month in advance and there was nowhere else to dine open anywhere for many miles. Some left hungry running to the gift shop for pop tarts right before closing. We tipped the waitress several hundred dollars for a table of 8, despite horrible service because we felt bad and didn't want her fired for poor planning on managements part. Breakfast, catered by the resort, was also poorly planned. Prior years were done as a buffet. Staff opted to bring out pancakes, one person at a time starting 30 minutes AFTER scheduled start. Again, hunting down our own silverware. Syrup came out well after pancakes & was left in another room. Plates of half cooked bacon, sausage and overcooked eggs were served one plate at a time 20 min. later. Potatoes tasted like they were fried in old oil with a bad after taste. We were late for our riders meeting. 300 plus miles of beautiful riding ended in a freezing rain. Cold, wet and hungry, we were later than planned for dinner. Walked into the restaurant right past the owner but just before closing. After about 15 minutes, the same waitress from the night before arrived and said with attitude " it's 8:05. We just closed." It was a Saturday night. Many tables were still waiting on food. She walked over to the owner now sitting at a table talking to a local couple and said, "They just got here. Can we still serve them?" He told her to ask the kitchen and she came back and said " No". They continued to bring out food for many other tables and the rest of our family was served. My husband asked if he could at least order a beer and was told no as he was not dining. His sister, who had just received food was also not allowed to order a drink because she might share with him. Yet, others continued to order and were served. Still, we were overly polite. We knew we should have arrived well before closing. Hint to staff- if you go out that side kitchen door to the fenced area, keep your volume low. Guests standing on the other side by can hear you. Hint to owner-choosing to sit and talk to a local couple was in poor taste instead of seeing that your guests needs are met. We were late but after the night before, a simple " I am so sorry, we are about to close", BEFORE we were seated, instead of letting us sit for 15 minutes and then being told we were too late to order, also made it also too late to run across the street and at least grab snacks. Part of the group event is always fire pit socializing in cute fire pits along the river that we had used in the past. Both days, sprinklers stayed on all afternoon & evening soaking the fire pit and grassy area making it one big muddy mess. 3-4 am watering would allow guests to use facilities they rent. We rented the most expensive train car to be close to activities as my husband is ill and gets fatigued due to meds. The group did move to the camping area that was dry but we didn't attend because he wasn't up to the walk after missing dinner and a long day. Day 3 Breakfast was handled well and the French toast was decent. Still need to change the oil for the potatoes though. Two staff members did make a difference. The women running the convenience store was polite, apologetic and kind. The woman serving breakfast was surprised after asking how our stay had been. She was not aware of much even though she apparently runs the kitchen. Hopefully, she will take our suggestions to heart. Also, her adorable daughter should be paid as she was literally the bright spot of our last morning.

DO NOT STAY IN THE PONDEROSA CABIN. We were excited to stay here but now I'm realizing most of the reviews were for the restaurant or RV spots. The cabin is absolutely disgusting and not safe for children. Broken tiles, carpet damage with the metal and carpet nails sticking out, exposed wires in electrical boxes, missing light bulbs with the sockets covered in dust. Not appropriate for anyone to stay in, let alone our 7 month old and 1 1/2 year old. Aside from the safety hazards, the cabin was absolutely disgusting. Flies were everywhere when we walked in. The trash can was broken (only stays open) and filthy, dishwasher had an old, moldy dish pod with bugs and mold inside (smelled horrid), ceiling fan covered in thick dust, bathroom vent didn't work (which I imagine why the vent was rusted, paint was peeling and bathroom ceiling looked to have mold). Feet were black after walking barefoot inside. Overall, for $250 a night, I'd expect a clean, maintained cabin. Tried to talk to the clerk about it and all she said was "they cleaned it before your stay". This cabin hasn't been properly cleaned in over a decade and the property management does not care or even try to make the situation right. Save your money and avoid this place.

We had a marvelous time at Big Rock Candy Mountain. Plenty of fun activities that all ages in our group of 14 (4 families) enjoyed.

The fries and shakes were good, but the burgers were terrible. My wife's burger came with everything and although there was ketchup on the table the burger was swimming in ketchup and mustard. Mine was the "Cowboy" and came with fried onions, and the onions were so overdone, breaded, and SALTED that they were no longer onions. I removed the onions and ate what was left. I think the beef had some funky filler in it because it was packed tight and not loose like hamburger, and it tasted like it had oats or something in it. Both of us felt like the burger was with us all night, if you know what I mean. The staff needed some training but tried hard. I'd like to see this place succeed, but the prices were high and the cook needs to take some lessons.
