I have no idea how the bands carry their stuff up there, but opening the door and being met with all those steps just sets the tone for the night. You know you're in for something different. There are old posters from a bunch of different bands covering the walls. There's a mural on a wall inside in the style of BRUTE! propaganda. For some reason, the aesthetics just seem like what a concert venue *should* be. The venue is unabashedly all ages. That means no booze. Take that for what it is. Personally, I appreciated it when I was younger--it meant no obnoxious drunk assholes! Now that I'm a bit older, I just appreciate the club's commitment to providing a positive environment for kids in Wisconsin who need a different kind of community than is offered at hometown football games.

Drunken people, litter, loud house parties and traffic. The fest puts a burden on law enforcement and the city employees that have to clean up all of the litter. In addition, people are urinating in alleys and parking lots. The fest should be moved out of the city and held at the La crosse County fairgrounds or somewhere else in La Crosse County.
