In June of 2023 I called a contacted Acme through Yelp because I had filled out a "project" request. The request was to unlock a residential doorknob of a basement for a property that I managed. I spoke with Acme on the phone to set up a time for them to come out, at which time they gave me a quote for changing the lock. When the person arrived to change it (Mike), he was unable to get the lock opened and said it would have to be completely removed and replaced with a new lock (after, we were able to contact another locksmith who came out and successfully unlocked the doorknob). This was going to take the visit up to over $300 if they provided a lock. I consulted with the person I managed the property for and they wanted me to buy a lock instead of the using one Acme offered due to the price and inability to complete the job. When I informed Mike of this, he became very short and irritated, asking how long it was going to take, and was very inflexible. I once again consulted with the property manager, and due to the unprofessionalism of Mike, and how much the cost had gone up from the initial quote, he decided not to continue the service with Acme. The property owner contacted Acme, who were apologetic, stated we would not have to pay for the service, said they were "grateful" that I did not write a review of my experience. Now here we are, 10 months later and this week I receive a call from Acme. They said they were "clearing some files," found my invoice and were going to send it to me. This invoice was a $175 charge for a visit and labor fee. They also charge an additional 3% processing fee for payments after 10 days of the invoice. I was never informed of a trip fee that would be charged prior to the visit, or that it was expected to be cash on delivery of service. This is something I assumed would have been established when they gave me the quote. I can adamantly say I do not recommend Acme for locksmith services. The inflexibility of the person who came out to complete the work, the lack of transparency with the charges prior to the visit, and the fact that 10 months later they are now trying to charge me $175 speaks to the lack of integrity within the company.

The key guy saved my night!!! I moved in to a new area in cincinnati and i was calling a locksmith company i found online after a locked myself out. The company told me that their technician is on the way and he's going to be at my house in about 25 min! After an hour I called back again to see how far is he and if the locksmith needs any directions, the company did not answer the phone and i was feeling frustrating, locked out and in the middle of the night! I end up calling Eagle's locksmith and the guy on the phone told me the same thing...that the tech will be there in 20-25 min...and i was like..."Are you sure?? that's what the other dude from a different company told me!" Anyway, he was very polite and i felt very comfortable with him. The locksmith arrived after 20 min and let me in very quickly. I have used Eagle's Locks a week ago, when i accidentally lock my keys in the house while i was walking my dog. I did some research before and called a few other locksmiths, but their prices were way too high for me and they estimated over 1 hour arrival. I called a few locksmiths online with the 800 area code and reached a call center in TX, but nobody was local, so after a few more call I found Eagle's locksmith and scheduled an app to get my locks changed at my home. You might think that seems like a fishy tactic to lure in customers for shoddy work. Definitely not the case here! Scheduling the appointment was a breeze and the technician let me know when he was on the way. My issue was a dead circuit board in my 20 year old garage door opener. The tech went over the replacement options along with clear and upfront pricing. Once I decided, he was able to do the install right away! While he was there he went ahead and gave my other garage a tune-up as well. Both doors are quieter and smoother than they have ever been. It's actually kind of amazing how much better they are now. Lonnie took my call, answered all my questions, and quoted me a fair price based on what other such installations have cost. A month later I called them and scheduled the installation. (Needed to get some electrical work done first.) When Adam arrived he did some quick measurements based on how the garage doors opened and informed me that the track for the belt drive openers wouldn't fit since I had such a low ceiling. He took photos and discussed it with Nick, the Service Manager. I once again consulted with the property manager, and due to the unprofessionalism of Mike, and how much the cost had gone up from the initial quote, he decided not to continue the service with Acme. The property owner contacted Acme, who were apologetic, stated we would not have to pay for the service, said they were "grateful" that I did not write a review of my experience. Now here we are, 10 months later and this week I receive a call from Acme. They said they were "clearing some files," found my invoice and were going to send it to me. This invoice was a $175 charge for a visit and labor fee. They also charge an additional 3% processing fee for payments after 10 days of the invoice. I was never informed of a trip fee that would be charged prior to the visit, or that it was expected to be cash on delivery of service. This is something I assumed would have been established when they gave me the quote. I can adamantly say I do not recommend Acme for locksmith services. The inflexibility of the person who came out to complete the work, the lack of transparency with the charges prior to the visit, and the fact that 10 months later they are now trying to charge me $175 speaks to the lack of integrity within the company.

The greeting I received was far from warm and the stare I got made me feel like my business was an inconvenience. The woman behind the counter informed me that they did not have a blank that they could use for me key. I definitely don't hold that against them - no other businesses in the area did either... that's not my issue. I would definitely love to come to a business like this rather than going to a big chain like Ace hardware, but honestly... the customer service was warm and friendly at Ace. Even when I said "thank you for your help" at the end, I was answered with a cold and short "yep." Maybe this was just an off-day, we all have those. But some good old fashioned friendly customer service could go a long way to make any experience here a little better.
