Jeff has been helping me with a discontinued door handle / multipoint lockset over several visits in the past 6 months. He has been wonderful to work with and has saved me so much time and grief! He has educated me on door warranties and door / lock types, which has been so helpful because we have a non-standard door and multipoint lock. I called the door manufacturer's customer service, which was basically no help and just told me the door had been discontinued, with very little other information. Jeff used his expertise not only to diagnose and fix our initial problem in a short amount of time, but also to determine the appropriate handle set parts for replacement and a place I could order them from. Needed just one house key, super old school with no special locks. I typically head to Lowe's but Mr. Lock is right up the street from me. I called ahead because I really didn't want to get two kids out of the car if they couldn't help me. I checked out their website and it seemed like they only did the specialty locks and keys. However, I was pleasantly surprised when the nice man on the phone said, "come on in, we'll get you out of here in no time." They literally got me out of there in no time. The shop is small but they have every single thing you could ever want or need when it comes to keys or locks. I walked up to the counter, gave them my key and within 30 seconds they brought me a duplicate. They have one wall full of thousands of keys, whaaaaat?! Customer service is awesome, price is awesome (2.50), efficiency is on point. Check these dudes out before you head to a department store. read more

Mr. Lock Locksmiths is the local place to go in Mt. Washington if you need keys made or if you've been locked out. I wandered in and out of this store a lot growing up as it was on my walk to and from school. I've always had my keys made here instead of at a hardware store. I guess I've just had bad luck with hardware stores. For some reason keys I have made at them never seem to work. I've never had a problem with Mr. Lock's keys! The locksmiths will get you out of any jam involving a lost key or being locked out of your home or car. They also specialize in alarm systems. I've never gotten one from them so I can't speak on that. The store also sells locks, key accessories, safes, and some pretty swiss army knives. read more

My company recently used Mr. Lock to install an intercom system in our office building, and they did a great job. They gave us the best deal on a simple system that totally fit our needs (rather than another company that wanted to charge us a small fortune for a system that was more complicated than what we needed/wanted, and also they were sort of trying to unload). The Mr. Lock staff was totally great, too. The owner came to estimate our job himself, and the two guys he sent to do the install were wonderful about working with us on aesthetics (hiding the wire) and very patient with our old, difficult building. My boss said we really lucked out with these guys, and I have to agree. We'll definitely be thinking of them for future security work! read more

Bought a hutch with a locked door. Made several trips for different skeleton keys. Some there suggested to bring in another door from that hutch (good idea). Dropped off the door, a few days later they called. The new key snapped off in the door and is stuck. I took the broken key to Mr Lock Locksmith (the one THEY made). Man behind the counter asks, "So what do you want me to do?" He proceeded to tell me it is $65 plus whatever they do, for them to make a house call. he DID NOT offer a refund, rebate, discounted house call or nothing. As I turn to leave, he asks if I wanted the keys, Why? One is broken, and the other doesnt work. Would not go back nor would I ever referrer. read more

I do not usually take the time to write a review, but I am compelled to for Mr Lock. They were awesome. I had called about having a key made for a garage door. When I arrived at the store, they already had them made. Unfortunately, they did not work (not Mr Locks fault, it was an inexpensive long shot). I called them and they came out the very next day. Mr. Lock came out immediately when a door was broken into on property cared for by a non-profit four years ago. They installed a heavy duty dead bolt with an additional lock and the building has been secure ever since. They have installed all of our dead bolts on the exterior doors of our home. Last night I needed help and their phone number referred me to another number that was not in working order - their number said they'd be back in office the 16th and it was the 19th! Earlier this year I needed locks replaced after a break in and it took days for him to have a time that was "convenient for him" as if this was now a PT gig.
