They were well planned and fun to take a quick stroll through/around. As to pricing, I labeled this as moderate, but really I think it just depends on what plant, planter, garden art, etc., you're looking for--the prices seem reasonable to me. One lady there suggested I subscribe to their newsletter to find out about upcoming events. I thought, here we go again and I figured I would be in the store forever, waiting on someone to help me. Much to my surprise, they had improved their customer service. The crotchety customer service guy was not there and people seemed very eager, yeah... eager, to help. I thought I was in the Twilight Zone. I have never before met anyone at TS who wanted to help a customer. I guess competition from Menards and Orsheln's finally broke them down. I was able to get the rabbit feed for my friend and on my merry way. I had to make a return the next day and I just knew I the magic would be gone. Much to my surprise, the return was very seamless and easy. So glad it went well. I do think their prices are high on some things. Overall, the prices seem decent but there were some items where I thought they were slightly higher than in other stores. I suppose it all boils down to what you are looking to purchase. The products are nicely displayed and the store is always clean and well lit. The merchandise seems to be well stocked and easy to find. They seem to have a little of everything. They have people shampoo, items for a variety of different animals, clothing, boots, heaters, hoses.. just about you would need for life on the farm or if you have a friend that has a rabbit.

Over the years, though, they have evolved into a store that truly cares about you and your pets. When I go to this store, they know me by name. That alone makes a world of difference. They carry only the best products and I love their Vital Care reward program. I get coupons every month and it helps. I have two small dogs. I get them groomed here and have complete faith and trust in their groomers. They even reminded me that one dog was due her rabies vaccination. The staff has been super friendly and helpful. One night I got to the register and had forgotten to put my wallet in my purse when I changed purses. I had no way to pay for my grooming. They helped me figure out a low-stress solution. I could not be more grateful and happy. They always call my dogs by name and remember them. The prices are reasonable and the services exceptional. This store is easy access, too. It's easy to navigate and you can park close to the store. This is a smallish store but they always have a good stock of items. No empty shelves or outdated products. It is big enough, though, to have a dog training center in the center part of the store. I've used their buy online and pick up in store option several times. Could not be easier. They've always had my purchases in stock and ready for my pickup. Great store, great price but, more importantly, great people.

Everything you could ever need in a Christmas tree farm...such as...Christmas trees! Lots of them…read more OK, maybe not *lots* of them these days (fully grown, that is. We noticed with a bit of concern that after this year, they may need to sit a year or three out until the Charlie Browns grow to into Charles Schultzs). Let's say you want to be the big man or woman and chop down one of those suckers in front of your loved ones. Score! They have even saws for you. But let's say, you don't feel you need to cut down your own. Now, I'm not calling anyone names (me!) but conveniently enough for the *wusses,* I mean, tidy folk, they have trees that have been cut but are still upright and tied to a single pole (note: if kids under 5 are present, you can *pretend* you're cutting it down, how's that for win-win?!) They even have a guy offering hayrides to those who don't wish to carry the big tree 20 feet, (I mean one mile!) to check out. Waiting for you is hot cider and cookies for all that hard work you did while untying your tree from the stake and riding it in on the flatbed. There are also decorations, lights (beware, though, last year we were stuck with old ones that didn't work) and wreaths. And strapping young boys who are gonna shake your tree down and mummy that sucker up and tie it to your car.

This X-Mas Tree farm is legitimately legit. If you live in KC, you have an excuse to spend a weekend day in Lawrence. If you live in Lawrence, it's just outside of town to the point where it feels like you're traveling for a tree without having to go far. We hunted for the perfect tree, seeing many that would do (especially compared to another farm we'd visited earlier that day that was full of patchy, dying trees). Some of these are h-u-g-e and wouldn't fit in our little house, so we found a 7.5 foot Fraser Fir, an import from the Appalachians that was well priced, fragrant, richly evergreen colored and the perfect fit for our house this Christmas season. Props to the staff who are decked out in red-vests so you can find them. They are friendly and helpful, and will guide you to a saw to cut your own if you'd like, or do it for you and haul it back via hayride. You then take a little ticket they give you inside, pay up, receive a customized "paid" stamp and pull your car around. The crew will shake the needles out, bag up your tree and strap that sucker down so it won't budge on the highway at 80 mph. Just a wonderful experience here and excited to work this into the holiday rotation for a stress free couple of hours on their farm.

I came here on a hot summer day to enjoy the rows upon rows of bright yellow sunflowers amongst a beautiful blue sky. The fields may be small, but they are big enough for there to be plenty of flowers and to look yellow from overhead. I had a very relaxing time walking through the sunflower field, taking pictures, and enjoying nature. The farm is free to visit. Strawberries are sold by the pound, and sunflowers are a suggested donation of $1 per cut flower. There were also fresh-off-the-vine watermelons and cantaloupes for sale at $5 each when I visited. Photography is welcomed though a donation is strongly encouraged for each shoot. Overall, Berry Hill Upick Farm is a lovely little farm in Topeka, Kansas.
