An efficient enough site where two rail lines cross and can easily be used by both - and resultingly, densifying neighborhood that surrounds it. The staff is usually always very helpful and kind. The main criticism is that the trains don't come frequently enough! As to the actual station, as usual for a Tri-Rail station there's not enough benches... or trash cans. The Metro-side's construction often takes too long and I'm seriously concerned about the accessibility as a result. In addition, there's also so much anxiety if the train is coming and the trains don't run late enough. But it's such a net positive to have rail options (with signage and audio message in three (3!) languages) in this urban-surburban-car-dominated-megaopolis - and I support it fully and want MORE investment in stations like this to make it better - and have two lines cross like this is superb.

Prior to Uber and being able to drive Metrorail was how I got around!…read more The reason this review is four stars is because transit in Miami is not yet the best organized and you have to leave either two hours earlier or deal with heat and other inconvenience of being in public transit. Like any big city, you do need to use your common sense when taking the train. Still and all, with the growth Miami has experienced in the last few years, it is certainly getting better. There are a nice amount of apartments, bars, restaurants and shops right next to the Brickell stop. The Brickell station also connects to the Metromover, which puts downtown and the Edgewater area a short ride and definitely cheaper than an rideshare. Walk a few blocks down the Underline Park under the tracks, and you're in the Coral Way / Roads area as well. Case in point, this last Friday night I was able to enjoy my Elite Experience Burger at Burgermeister (2 blocks away), run an errand on Coral Way and jump on the Metrorail (30 minute wait at that time) to the station closest my house and uber over. Glad to see this growth in multimodal transportation for our city.

But it is very similar to what other cities call Subway. I guess since Miami can not run much underground construction, the MetroRail is all above ground. The one way ticket is $2.25, but you can get a full day pass for $5.65, which allows for unlimited transfers between metrorail and buses for one full day...if you get a $2.25 ticket, you will have to pay another $2.25 when you transfer. We loved how clean the trains were, the AC was working very well when we got on. We were even a bit cold inside the train. The signage on approaching stations is very good and the maps and routes printed on the inside of the trains are very useful. The Metrorail offers one easy ride to get you where you need to go. Be from Downtown Miami and Brickell to Coconut Grove and South Miami as well as a quick trip to the airport. There are two distinct rail lines that depart from the Dadeland South station on US1. The Orange line ends at Miami International Airport and back. The Green line runs further up north with connections to the Tri-rail and Virgin MiamiCentral. There are stops along each route at many of Miami's top attractions such as Coconut Grove, Vizcaya Museum & Gardens, Brickell, the Lyric Theater, Hialeah and more. Metrorail opened in 1984 and it is Florida's only rapid transit metro system. It is composed of two lines of 23 stations on 24.4 miles of track. The Metrorail comes in here but over the last thirty years as the City of Miami has evolved so has their central station. Years ago it was Government Center and I would connect to the metro mover. Now as Downtown has changed this truly is the main station. I come into here from Miami Airport to get to Downtown. Also it backs up into Brightline which is around the corner literally steps away. Lastly all the City buses come through here around the building there is a place a block up for the buses that go 595, in front of the building is buses going every ten minutes or so to the Golden Glades than a few steps from that at the side entrance to Metrorail is the 95 express buses. This place is literally a pu pu platter for all your transportation needs in and out of the City of Miami. I highly recommend it as parking is getting increasingly harder to find as well as expensive. You can get monthly passes which make it even more affordable if you come here daily as I do. Also across the way is a brand new Einstein's for a quick morning bite. It is very well lite in the area so don't let the name Overtown fool you it seems very safe. So far so good.

We took a four night/ five day cruise to the Bahamas with a stop at CocoCay, and every day was packed with activities. There was never a dull moment, whether we wanted to relax or stay busy. We booked an ocean view balcony room, and I don't think I could ever cruise any other way. Waking up each morning, opening the curtains, and seeing the ocean or a brand-new destination was one of my favorite parts of the trip. It made the experience feel even more special. The entertainment was fantastic. I enjoyed all of the shows I attended and the clubs/parties each evening. The food was satisfying. We enjoyed the main dining room, and did a specialty dining one night which was very good. The servers are very attentive and want to make sure everyone has a great experience. The buffet had a great variety for every meal, so there was always something different to try. Our room attendant was incredibly friendly and did an amazing job. I especially loved coming back to the room and seeing the cute towel animals they made each day. I'm sure this won't be my last cruise! One tip I'd give anyone planning a cruise is to call the cruise line directly before booking. I originally looked online, but when I called, I was offered a better rate than what I found on the website. I didn't use a travel agent, and I'm glad I made that phone call because it saved me a good amount of money. Overall, this was an unforgettable vacation, and I can't wait to cruise again!

Super cool place to take some instagram worthy shots. ------------------------------------------------- Coral Gables artist Bo Droga is turning the concrete pillars under the University Station Metrorail tracks in Coral Gables into parallel rows of giant dominoes. The art installation is called "Concrete Landscapes Miami," located off Stanford Drive and Ponce de Leon Boulevard. While the giant dominoes are fun to look at and a true tribute to the game's popularity here in South Florida, there is also a mystery. Droga says there is a message in the pattern of numbers and he wants people to try to figure it out. When asked how he selected the domino patterns, Droga responded, "Ah! I can't tell you that. People will need to figure it out ' He is challenging those who visit the installation to figure out the secret domino pattern. Droga is creating his dominoes installation in two phases. The first phase is of 24 columns north of the University Metrorail station, and the second of another 24 columns south of the station. Drogo is transforming the pylons into playful, realistic domino game pieces with help from volunteers: Moms who work with him from about 8:30 a.m. until 2:30 p.m. on weekdays. Just missed the opening of MSC's new terminal by about 10 days. That should be awesome to go…read morethrough. We went to Terminal.C and it was just fine. It is pretty easy to find. Of course, it is crowded. My angel of a neighbor took us to and from the terminal and he drove through easily. There are two sides. Definitely try to go to the one closest to the actual ship, not the area in the middle. The guys handling the luggage love to hustle. They do their job well and supposedly only work for tips. They work very hard and deserve as much as you can give them. Remember, they are the ones who make sure your luggage arrives to your cabin. It is wise to keep them happy.

This terminal is old and the checkin process is a hot mess. We were in the priority line for casino…read moreat sea and platinum and above status. The general checkin line was longer, but faster because they had so many more counters open for them. The main issue seemed to be that there was one counter for people that need special assist and only three counters for priority. For parking, you can easily walk to either garage B or C from the port. Our ship left out of terminal C and returned to terminal B. We did have to walk in some areas of the parking garage that didn't have a sidewalk and seemed dangerous.
