When ever you travel to new and different places , it really pays to look at all your option of transportation. The choices are endless. Do we take a taxi to our hotel ? Do we rent a car? Use Uber ? The choice that you make can save you big Bucks! My wife happen to read reviews of the orange line on Miami Metro Line. You can catch the orange line right at Miami International airport. The orange line stops just a few blocks away from our hotel. And guess what ? A one way ticket is only $2.25 . There were security officers at the ticket machine to help anyone who needed help. So the two of us to get to the hotel only cost us $4.50 total. I have to say that the Metro Line wasn't new by any means, nor the fastest, but it was clean ! For the price of &4.50 for two it cant be beat! There was plenty of security at the airport as well as all along the ride to the hotel. So the next time you fly into Miami International airport, keep a open mind and consider Miami's Metro Line for your transportation needs. I'm glad we did! read more

Pretty easy to navigate and the cheapest option to get into town. Followed the signs out of the airport to the main station, where you can pay for your $2.25 one way ticket by credit card. It was a very simple 8 stops to where I needed to go to Brickell, southbound. Lots of signage everywhere that gave you directions. Trains ran every 10-15 minutes. read more

I'm very pleased with the service at this Miami Airport Metrorail Central Station. I reserved my son's ticket online for a bus round trip from Gainesville to Miami, with the Greyhound Company. He came this past Saturday and he's trip was very good. This station is organized and clean just the way I like it and conveniently located at the Miami International Airport. It has space to seat inside and outside as well as a well sized free of charge parking lot. I will go back next Saturday to drop off my son who's going back to Gainesville. I am all about this station right here. As you know, Miami is lacking in the public transportation department blah, blah, blah, you all know the story but this station has upgraded our city in my opinion. It's clean, modern, and there is always someone by the ticket booths looking to help those riding the metro rail for the first time. The trains don't arrive and depart quickly from the station, I'm assuming because they wait for enough people to board, but once it gets moving it's all good. You will see that there are two lines (orange and green) on the map above the doors in the train. I hope I'm not wrong in saying this but from my understanding and experience, the train ONLY runs on the orange line (southbound) with the final destination being Dadeland South. If you need to get off on one of the stops going north from the green line (between Brownsville to the Palmetto), you will need to hop on and get off at the next transfer station to go northbound, which would be Earlington Heights. When in doubt, feel free to ask although I've seen many people deliver blank faces when asked in what direction the train is going (y'all don't know where you're going, huh?). Way to go, Miami-Dade Transit! Next project should be to build a station on South Beach! read more

Ok metro rail what happened to you? When I moved here from NJ over 30 years ago you were excellent transportation to get me from Dadeland Station North to Downtown Miami Government Station. You were the best the only problem than if I worked until 8PM as I often did someone would give me a drive to my car as the trains wouldn't run as often. Now it is rush hour far earlier than when I used to go to work at 9AM,it is two hours earlier and the trains coming through are literally non-existent. I get off the tri rail need to load my card for the metro rail in doing so miss a train. Well I figure another one will come through shortly. Shortly it is literally never another train thus no people useing this transportation. OMG my peeps from work called as I was 1.5 hours later than my normal arrival. They offered to come to the Airport station and get me. I should have taken them up on their offer as I waited for another train until Hell froze over. When the train did arrive it sat with doors open for another eternity. The train itself had seen better days and was probably the same one from 30 years ago. Needless to say zero people onboard. Never again will I attempt this transportation to get to work. read more

As far as public transit goes, Miami isn't necessarily known for it as much as say NYC. Still, this hub of transportation is a really good representation of what to do and how to merge all corresponding local, regional, national and international transportation into one place. From this station you can get on the which is the regional Tri-Rail train that goes from MIA to FLL to PBI and stops in between. The Metrorail which is for Dade, connects Central Station to the Orange line which traverses east towards downtown and then south west towards Dadeland South station along the same path as US-1. Central station is also where you can connect to Amtrak's Silver line (national carrier). There is a free shuttle that runs from Central Station to the terminal for easy access from Central Station to MIA. This station is also connected to the MIA Rental Car Center. read more

His is the best way to travel in Miami! I live right by a stop and the metro leads me right to the airport. This way I avoid 15 dollar a day parking toll and the 8 dollar a day economy parking that is really far away and wastes time. The metro is not always quicker than driving but it can be in Miami traffic. The only bad thing I can think of was the huge mosquito bite I got getting on the metro at the airport. So I probably have Zika now. All well who needs those brain stem cells anyway.... Not me!!!! read more

About time, Miami! In my travels, I've always been amazed by transit systems in other major cities where passengers can easily get from an airport to the major tourist destinations. I've come home and wondered why we, as a city, were so behind the times. Well, now we're at least a little bit caught up! I'm totally impressed by the connectivity this station provides so far. I work right by a metrorail station, so I was able to park my car at work, get on the Orange Line train heading northbound and head straight to the airport. The Orange Line doesn't go to all stops on the regular northbound (Green Line) metrorail line, so listen out for announcements. Once the train stops at the airport, get off and head up the escalators, following the signs to get to the terminals. What I loved is that once you arrive at the airport, there are a plethora of signs to keep you going in the right direction. While it's a short hike to get to the terminals (I remember thinking that the distance might be difficult for elderly and disabled), it's manageable. From the metrorail, there's a tram that takes passengers to a walkway that leads to the various terminals. A great feature of this way of getting around is that it's mostly air-conditioned and all enclosed, so other than getting off and on the metrorail, you're inside for the majority of the journey. One-way fare is $2.25. As many have mentioned, that "EASY" ticket machine? Not easy at all. It's downright confusing. Tip: Put on your best helpless act & ask a security guard or attendant for assistance with paying the one-way fare. Otherwise, you can end up paying $6 to $8 for one-way. There are specially designated attendants to help passengers get on from inside the airport but these attendants are not available at any of the other stations passengers would get on from. 4-stars because I'm looking forward to Miami getting new trains to match this very modern facility. The decades-old trains that service this 21st century facility are in need of an upgrade. All in all, this is a great option for travel to and from the airport. It removes the hassle of arriving and departing via a car, much less the hassle and expense of parking at the airport. P.S. I noticed that there is a large parking lot for tri-rail passengers that stood completely empty. It may be worth it to look into parking vehicles there and catching the tram to the walkway to the terminals. read more

Finally a station worthy for the public. Reminds me a little of the stations in Europe. It is the classiest, cleanest, most modern station in Miami. However, it is still confusing. Once you get off the train going to the airport....the signage is bad and you don't know which way to go!! Another Miami Dade transit eff up. Good job guys read more

Super convenient location to the MIA Airport. Clean. One of the nicest public transportation facilities I've been to in my travels. You don't even have to leave the platform to head to the airport. I love taking metro rail from Brickell to the airport. It's quick, easy and cheap. People watching is interesting. Some of the scenery is pretty depressing when you go through some neighborhoods but it's nice to keep things in perspective. read more

Classy and clean but i found it confusing to get to a bus. Fortunately a security guard left his spot to help me out. He cheerfully refunded the fare I wasted going through the wrong turnstile and helped me til I was going the right way. read more

Very impressed. Miami-Dade got it right?!? The station is clearly marked and well designed. Just be careful when purchasing your fares, I somehow bought a one way bus ticket, but the woman in the information booth was very helpful in rectifying my error. read more

Very nice, clean, and modern. I went very early to catch my flight and came back almost by midnight to return home. It wasn't busy because of the odd hours, but I could see this getting really crazy during busy hours. Other than that, it's very pretty. read more

The Airport is very well build architecturally. The rental center is separate from the airport itself but has a sky train that will take you there every 3-5 minutes. Every terminal offer great selections of food, book, and souvenir shops. Only concern I would have is that it charges for wifi. The first 30 minutes is complimentary and $5 per hour. read more
