Like other grocery stores including Publix, Walmart, etc. not all food items sold have "safe" ingredients. For example "cottonseed oil" used in some of the chips by the brand named "Clancy's" not all chips have this harsh ingredient so due your diligence. The overall feel of Aldi is rather quaint and straight forward. Still enough options to browse the aisles slowly but also makes for quick trips that save time you can't get from Wally's world. Reasons to shop at Aldi -veggies/fruits (on average cheaper than Walmart but to be warned produce sells out fast) -better cuts and prices for beef than Walmart (Walmart beef is ridiculous, haven't bothered supporting their beef in years. Much rather buy beef from here or the local butchery) -support a company that keeps prices lower for citizens (Aldi is UK based not USA, hence the "consumer priority" and not "shareholder priority" that you typically see in USA based companies) -save a dollar or two on almost everything you buy if coming from Walmart (and 3-4 dollars saved if you're coming Publix/whole foods) -if you enjoy protein bars (ingredients wise they are higher in protein and have better ingredients than protein bars offered at Walmart) also the cheapest bars per box you'll find at any grocery store! Do remember, .25¢ for a cart and bring your own reusable grocery bags. If not you can purchase some at the counter or even use empty Aldi boxes if they are available.

Bravo is just what the area needs and is really turning things around here already. What a difference! Customer service is up 100%. And Bravo's prices are somewhere closer to Walmart and Aldi than Publix (which is about 38% more than Walmart last time I checked (Ask me how I know). So not only are they reasonably priced, they've also got all sorts of hispanic foods and products you'd never find across the street; especially if they're old favorites or you're just curios like me. I Love the produce here and the meats can be a real bargain. Shhh... I think they're opening a bar! Or at least I spy taps!! Wepa!! And I don't really know the Wepa, but I'm feeling it here. I asked and an older gentleman got me one. I am disabled so I need one to shop. 2 - Second time I was looking for fried chicken in the deli and found none. 3 - Third time I called t see if deli did fried chicken. I was assured they always have it in the deli. To make sure I called the deli and ordered a 12 box for pickup at 5PM. The woman took the order and said "no problem". I arrived at the deli 2 minutes to 5 and enquired about my order and one woman kept yelling something at me. It was to get in line. The sign for this was small and at the far end of the food display case. Oops, they never had a line system as Hitchcocks - it was just first come first served. Another woman came over to help me. She checked for the order. Th sticked for it was on a sheet with my name on it and pick up time. It was not ready and none was in the showcase. So, I had to wait 25 minutes for it to be cooked. Very hard on me to stand in one place but I did. The hispanic music was so loud that it hurt my ears and I am hard of hearing. 4 - for aluminum pans - no problem then Personally, I would shop Publix before this Bravos. They have soups with directions in English, so don't be scared to try something new! The produce section is huge, they have chopsticks, bowls, Asian spoons, dishes and tea pots too. You really have to come and check it out yourself. Walk slowly, read the labels, have a good time. It is very busy in the afternoon, so I suggest the mornings, if you can. Also, some products don't have English on them, but iPhones have (not sure about other cell phones) an easy translation method. Just take a picture of the text, highlight it, and choose "translate"! It is fun to see what it says!

I think you can have them delivered as well or set up a plan where you get a certain number per week but I like to cook so I don't want all that: I just want to stop by and get a few when I will need some. Now, a few things to note. The meals I've had so far are fine but a bit bland. A bit of good curry powered and other spices added in goes a long way to making these meals much better than they seem just out of the box. They do seem healthy though and certainly not overly salty--all needed salt, pepper, and more for my taste. These meals also are refrigerated not frozen. So, you have a rather finite amount of time to heat them up and eat them. They heat in about three minutes in the microwave. For me, this is a good way to prepare for days when I won't have time to cook dinner--never will it replace my home cooking but it's good to know you can formulate a plan which is healthy and not expensive when you're in a hurry.

They also have a good selection of baklava and other treats by the front counter worth checking out: they get different sweets in sometimes--always baklava but sometimes also namoura cake and other things. When they have sari burma it's normally excellent, so look for that as well. They also have a good spice selection and try to include a lot of Turkish and Persian speciality items as well (this include Turkish frozen goods and yes, the pudding mixes also). The restaurant portion is a buffet and they have a hot bar and cold bar. The hot bar has traditional Egyptian foods and was very good when I tried it while the cold bar has things that could also be taken away like hummus, salads, and babaganoush. You can get the hot bar to-go as well, but having things like hummus is a big deal because you can purchase enough to have on hand for the week. I hope the restaurant continues to work out for them: buffets only make money if they have a lot of customers, so I really hope the community supports this fine establish and wonderful people who own and run it.
