I've never done yoga or been in close proximity with a mass amount of goats before and I honestly wasn't sure what to expect. When you arrive to the property you will need to park on the street and head down on foot. You're greeted by the owners, where you can rent a mat for $5 (if you don't bring your own). There is a little spot for you to put your shoes and belongings and then you head in to the gated yoga center. The views are amazing! Before the yoga starts, one of the owners gives a little pep talk about the property, shares some history with you and has some fun trivia questions. He was really good about going around and getting pictures of everyone throughout the experience too. Right away it's a light environment and it's pretty clear that it is completely okay if you prefer to chill with the goats and not get an intense yoga session in. Our instructor was patient and really took her time with us, with all of the goat distractions going on. The goats are not shy at all. One of them perched on my partners mat the entire time. Others came and went. I looked around at one point and almost every person had a goat or two on or next to them. All of the goats are clean, friendly and super cute. I was a little nervous about them getting on my back, but it was fine! So glad we tried this out! Definitely recommend for a fun day in the country.

The view is stunning and Wendy and Kai are such kind and generous hosts. Don't expect a rigorous yoga class, the yoga is kind of secondary to the joy of the goats, but they state all that up front. Highly recommend as a unique way to see Up Country!

We coordinated by text, as she usually only has a group session if there are at least 2-3 participants. (My group session as a visitor was $20 for an hour). We met at a secluded beach in Waimea and only had to bring beach towels. She gave us useful tips on how to yoga without getting sand all over. The class was suitable for any level, as it was a gentle, flow style yoga. The point is to be in sync with the ocean, learn some Hawaiian, and just feel your toes in the sand. Mahalo, Candy!

Deni has internalized both the spiritual and physical aspects of a Iyengar yoga, and inspires her students to follow that path. Rhema is who a owner, teaches a Sunday morning flow class which I've enjoyed attending. Her teaching style is encouraging and she relates to a wide range of students abilities. Ruth Y teaches a combination classes, vin to yin that works real good for me at the end of my work day. David, also and owner teaches a vinyasa class which has a Yoga Boot Camp feel to it. Demanding but enjoyable. Parking in front of the studio is really quite easy. They have functional bathrooms and changing area and adequate props for students. They also use an online booking system which is useful because occasionally they've canceled classes for various reasons, Although I've not attended them, they've had some other events at the school that look fun. They had a Halloween party and even a latin and dance night recently. Pricing for the studio is competitive and teachers experienced and well-trained definitely worth trying out to see where you fit in to their program.

I found myself going twice a week. However, they also go at a very good pace so even friends who were more experiences felt that it was a solid challenge. This place is phenomenally better than anything they offer at the hotels (if you're one of those people who understandably cannot give up yoga for a week or want to maintain that beach body all trip) The are way off the beaten track and far from the road so you get to enjoy warm island air circulating all around you without any distractions. It's a bit of a drive for anyone staying on the touristy-side of the island (south shore) BUT completely worth the trip. Try combining it with a trip to Paia or to Ho'okipa to check out the windsurfers/surfers and huge breaks at the end of the day. You will definitely be hungry after-wards and fortunately, Flatbread Pizza and their Mopsy (kula pork and goat cheese from the island's dairy) is on your way home through Paia.
