I was given a voicemail the following morning, telling me there was no need for any contact, fine. That he would drive by and visually decide what the cost would be of that which I asked. I asked for a couple of simple things = cut back the foliage from the street side of my home. And after, depending on the cost how much it would cost to remove 2 plants (one on either side of my driveway). I called him a day later, thinking I would be hearing from him, and didn't want to miss said call. Gave him my email address so he could just shoot me the estimate.. well, no call and no email. No reason, nor excuse. I've seen his vehicle drive by my home for the past 4 years, though I never called. I always took care of things myself. This past year I was recovering from an injury which changed all that. Now I'm playing catch up and thought to keep business 'mom n pops shop type around here. I prefer to support, the smaller companies any time possible. I obviously chose the wrong one. I'd suggest, anyone stopping here, keep it moving. I'm trying to get as much 'outdoor' repair done as soon as possible so this little play on my time is unacceptable. But I'd much rather see this PRIOR to hiring the person and they flake half through the job. I guess, compared to the desert type landscape his only photo's are of, my small job would be too much work. It will include some man power. For the past 4 years, I had wondered if asking for help with some heavier projects would be an option. Now I see I did well with not putting my eggs in this basket. He is lazy, mediocre, and not worth your time or money.

He was the most knowledgeable Estimator I met with, we obtain 3 quotes & a few other telephone quotes. His crew were courteous, professional and really hard workers, they did not slack one bit! And Dave was also very involved and always available when we needed him for the smallest question. We ended up having a couple small add on jobs such as paver/path install and they were able to bust it out within the originally planned timeline. Ron gave me a thorough explanation on what he believed should be done and even provided me with photos, a detailed explanation and a PowerPoint showing me the steps to fix the deck and stairs. They have been repairing two of my neighbors decks for the last few weeks. They left an open deck on a hillside without a barrier or warning tape. They removed the gate on my adjacent property without notifying me which allowed direct access to hillside deck with no railing for four days while they went to another job. I was out of town. Attached is a photo of what I found when I got home. This is how the DeckTech team left the job site. If a neighborhood child went through that gate and fell off my neighbor's deck it could have been disasterous. I asked them serveral times to reinspect my deck which is required for warranty. He delayed me for two weeks stating each time he would be out the following week. I received an email this morning stating I should go to his competetor. Maybe you should as well if he too busy until mid next year. The spelling errors are from his email. Ron McKenna (owner) email to me: "I would [not] be able to provide a deck inspection for you.
