We have a slate roof so finding someone can be hard. EAS always answers the phone, schedules promptly, shows up on time and does great work at a fair price. Ultimately, I feel inclined to leave a review because the guy who actually come to do the work is so nice! EAS Roofing is the best! read more

Initially, this would have been a 5 star review. Good sales process and they did the work fast and on-time. One upcharge on-the-day for some new sheathing, but otherwise as expected. However, the 5 star experienced stopped there. After they took away the dumpster, the driveway had large scrapes (which the dumpster company documented) and there were oil marks left all over the driveway. I was in the driveway when the dumpster was removed and talked to the driver while he took pictures of the damage. EAS confirmed they'd be fixing it and was even specific on how - they would be using a pressure washer on the whole driveway so it looked consistent. This didn't happen - they sent roofers over with scrub brushes, which obviously did nothing. I went back and forth with Kristi in the office who said they would make things right, particularly the scrapes/gouges. The last comm I received from them was October 6, 2025. I tried them again once the snow has stopped and they didn't respond. At this point I have no choice other than to give them a bad rating. If they want to actually respond and fix the driveway, I would happily reconsider the rating. read more

In the middle of a roof replacement with EAS right now. I will update this review when the project is finished when and if I choose to, but as of now, our experience has been poor and I cannot recommend going with this company. The good is that the subcontracting crew they use works very hard, although how things look when finished remains to be seen. The bad is with the company itself. Communication, first, has been abysmal. There was a crew tearing slate off of our roof before we ever met the project manager...he showed up hours later and that was the first time we ever heard from him. The crew is tarping over our roof and getting ready to leave now with rain on the way and the project manager is nowhere in sight. Obviously things can take longer than expected, but it is the job of the project manager to communicate these things to us and right now calls to him are going completely unanswered. EAS seems to forget that this is a major expense for most customers and that communication is necessary for peace of mind. Finally, be prepared for major price increases the day work begins. It's what happened to us. According to the project manager (when we were able to speak with him), the gaps in our roof sheathing were too wide to allow the shingles to be nailed down firmly. That would be understandable, except that Cory the sales representative was able to view the roof decking from the underside in several places when we signed the contract and estimated that the roof decking would be good enough as is. Feels very much like a $4,000 bait-and-switch to me. If your experience is anything like ours, be prepared for a potential surprise price increase of 20% the day of the job. In sum, they hire hard-working subcontractors. Everything else has been extremely lacking. Think twice about spending your money with EAS. Edit: Spoke to the crew again after completing this review. They are telling me "maybe tomorrow." Tarp in place over roof, project manager still not answering calls. Just awful. read more

EAS was one of the only roofing companies to even return my call for an estimate. Roofers are busy folks these days. I set up an appointment to take a look at some gutters that were overflowing and a leak that was starting to cause ceiling damage in our sunroom. I suspected the overflowing gutters were somehow splashing water back up under some flashing and running down under the roofing. Zack looked everything over and walked along the roof line to ponder what the root cause might be. He wanted to discuss it with his manager to see if he agreed before quoting a price for diverters/shields on the gutters in two sections. He also looked at an attic exhaust fan we needed to replace and quoted that. He provided a written estimate and their price was decent so we scheduled and Zack performed the work. He did a good job considering his helper called off and it was just him. He also took care of a popped nail that was causing a small leak on heavy rains and added some gutter hangers to stabilize the upper and lower gutter. I would use them again. They are responsive and knowledgeable. read more

Initially I had given them a five star and a good review. When I met with Zach the evaluator for EAS roofing, my initial feeling for him and the company was that I liked them and that they would be able to take care of my roof leaking issues. Zack told me everything that I wanted to hear. Zack told me that I needed "Coping" all around the perimeter of my roof. They did it, I paid a lot but the issue continued. I had them come back again, they told me that there was something else that needed done for an additional fee. They "did whatever they did" but the leaking continued. They looked at it again but the issue persisted to continue. I had another company look at it and they told me that the main issue with the leaking came from my chimneys. But they mentioned that whomever had done my Comping left a bunch of unsealed holes where they had tried to screwed some screws, and a bunch of other sections where they forgot to seal the seams of the coping that they did do. Just now I am having my chimneys rebuilt, and one of the crew members pointed a section where they was a hole on the brick that was missing about a foot of Coping, where most likely the water was coming in from. I was going to have them come to take care of it after much stressful arguing back and forth. I wanted them to come do it in the presence of my chimney company people, but once again there were excuses as to why they couldn't. They wanted ti come on Monday when they would be by themselves but as you can imagine, I don't trust them based on learning about their personal character. Unfortunately vindictive people exist. I am not saying they are but who knows and why risk it. I have decided to just forget about them, take my loses and have someone else take care of what they couldn't. read more

In the 3 years since they put in a new roof and gutters on our home, 4 shingles have fallen loose, and we recently decided to call under their "10-year workmanship warranty". In the 4 months that have passed since, they've come to our home 6 times and caused 2 leaks on 2 different floors, destroyed the gutterguard they charged $3000 to install, punctured the metalwork on our windows, dented the crown of the roof, destroyed our landscape lighting, left literally tens of trashbags in our yard, left our master bedroom and living rooms walls destroyed by water, used the caulking and towels out of OUR OWN garage to plug the holes they created, and simply ruined our home (this list could go on). Caulking, rusty nails, and broken, dangling flashing can all be seen from the street as the roof stands now, and EAS is telling us they've just "replaced" it. It seemed like all they wanted was $ in the initial call. I was having incredible gutter overflow in the back so I contracted with them anyway since something needed done asap. Worker cleaned back gutter and checked roof vents and around chimney which he hurriedly sealed. All for $500! Pretty steep for 20 minutes work. He was bothered when I asked him to run water down the drains to check the flow. He said downspout needed replaced for another$250. I said it doesn't need replaced but just an elbow to run excess out in grass. He disagreed but again I was worried since next door neighbor was complaining of water running on his property. I then asked him to check the front gutters which he said were clean. So I contracted anyway for the back downspout. He came back out when I wasn't there and placed an elbow at the bottom and 10' of flexible pipe. So $750 and a few weeks later I had a little forest growing in the front gutters from years of debris. He never even looked at it. I called the company and she said the fee was only for the back gutters. We tried to correspond but I can say I would have had to pay another $500 for the front cleaning. I found another guy who cleaned it for $$65 Would stay away from them. Overpriced and inferior workmanship. read more

my experience with EAS roofing was in general a good experience. They were $15000.00 dollars less than Gus Dabney Roofing. I actually changed the color to Pacific Wave as I'm going to paint my house to a blue color. They worked efficiently and the job was done in two days. A little issue with some damage to my tenants part of the house. Doug came back to access the damage and sent a man ( sub contractor) to evaluate the drywall. After two no shows he did come and finished the work. overall I would recommend this compan. read more

EAS was quick to respond and within what I expected to pay. They did a 'cold install' leaving gaps in the valleys because the shingles were too cold to bend and fit in tightly; they damaged the dormers and external window sills (mansored roof), and when shown the damage made no offer to repair. The chimney is on the outside wall of the home. Around the chimney they lifted the shingles (on the upper side of the roof) to divert water around the chimney only succeeding to open a gaping hole under the shingle they lifted. There were other places of poor workmanship and lack of technical understanding on how to correct it, besides the unwillingness to take responsibility. Sitting down with their sales person Justin, informed us that the job site would be left spotless, the roof crew would use the dumpster lift that moves the holder up to roof level to throw debris in. They use this machine on all the jobs. We also asked subcontracted jobs, if they did, we would look else where. He said no subcontract. Both of these statements were lies. No lift was used. On June 24, 2019, 8am, a white unmarked van subcontractors. I should have stopped, sent them on their way, demanded my 1/3 deposit back. I would have saved myself stress filled summer, damaged home and a terrible company.These roofers had debris EVERYWHERE. My neighbor's yards, my deck, all exits to my home were blocked. Piles of roofing everywhere. A site manager came 10am said he would11am a dumpster, not the lift, pulled up in front of my house. PM DIDN'T use left for every job and our driveway wouldn't allow it! When the were finished nails were everywhere. Old underlay, shingle pieces were everywhere. Big punctures in my hot tub cover from roofing material falling on it. It was ruined. I had 6 window damaged dents and scratches from debris hitting them. 3 glass panes with scratches from debris with nails hitting them.Glass scratch 12 inches long! Old flashing was never removed.Screen door was ripped scratched and dented. Old satelitte dish was left hanging by a wire, dangerously hanging from our gutter over our deck. Gutters were completely filled with debris, dented and pushed. The finish edging was to be white as per our contract, they installed brown, which stood out on the house's white trim. Decorative river rock on hill side front of our house moved and left it. Tar spots all over our driveway. Wood burner chimney now totally crooked. The bay windows half done, no flashing on one and half sealed. We pointed out to the workers they said they weren't done, then they left! The project manager said workers were done and he would be over to collect final payment. I said no. Then he was going to come the next day. The workers came back next day, 8am, but I would not let tham do any work until project manager came and I could address all the issues with him. He didn't get here until 9am! The project manager said he would make restitution for all the damage, incorrect roof install, clean up and redo badly done work. They didn't come back for over a week. Before they came back, the rain came. I had water pouring in through the diningroom bay window because it was not done correctly damaging the wood finish on the frame and inside window. Water pouring down my wood burner. Water pouring down the walls in my enclosed porch where flashing was an inch from wall. EAS bought a new hot tub cover to replace damaged one. Paid for 3 new glass pieces for our specialty made windows. The scratches and dents could not be repaired. They cleaned all my gutters. Put new screen in screen door. Dents and scratches couldn't be fixed. They had to power wash my driveway to remove tar spots. Cleaned all of my gutters out. Removed the dangerously hanging old satellite dish. Straightened the wood burner vent. We had water come into our home 3 times before Nick fixed bad work product.Other employees who attempted to correct job did just as bad of a job as the sub contractors did. They were nasty toward me, and even at one point I had to yell at them and kick them off of my property. That is why Nick was assigned to finish/correct the job. I repeatedly asked to speak to the owner Eugene, but he NEVER bothered to reach out to me. (Until he called me demanding final payment even though the job wasn't finished) Our upstairs bedrooms were like furnaces and we couldn't figure out why. We put a digital remote themoneter in it. The temps were at 130°! We had edge vents placed with the ridge vent for circulation. The edgevents alone were $1400 additional cost. Nick lifted shingles and found that the original subcontract crew installed them WRONG! The entire roof had to be stipped and completely redone. If we had not put the thermometer in our attic and found out something was wrong, more damage to our home would have occurred. The edge vents were 60% shingled over and another 20% blocked from underneath! So, Nick redid the whole roof, replacing edge vents as well, this time using the lift for debris. There was no problem with using the lift. We were still waiting for the window replacements and refinish of our bay window to complete the job and that is only time owner called me. He demanded his final payment. I wrote up a settlement agreement subtracting from final payment the damage that could not be repaired. The owner and I agreed to settle. I DO NOT RECOMMEND THIS COMPANY. I had a HORRIBLE experience using this company. I wish I had chosen a different company. I would NEVER, ever refer any business to them. Owner was made because I called the subcontractor's work subpar. He informed me that HE STILL USES THEM. BEWARE!!!! read more

Six years ago, EAS roofing installed a new roof on my home. Three years ago it started to leak. For 3 years they came to "fix" the problems and made excuses as to why it was leaking. EAS solution-caulking, more caulk, and caulking. Finally, this summer with all the bad storms we have had and all the leaking we had to pay 3k to a reputable and recommended (by my homeowner's insurance) roofing company to fix the problems. We filed a complainant with the magistrate. We were awarded some of the money. EAS Roofing has yet to pay us the money per the judgment. I would give NO STARS. Do not hire this company. read more

Overall, the job was completed and done on time for a fair price. However, the biggest selling point for us (we have a dog who loves to be outside) was the raised box they show you on the cover of their brochure that helps clean up. They supposedly "use it on every job" but did not on our house. When I asked a crew member about it the day of, they said "we don't use that on these kinds of houses." That is not at all what the salesman told us. He stressed how they use them on EVERY job. Also, when the crew arrived on the project, no one came to the front door and told me they were going to begin or to review the project before they got started. They just went for it. The first time someone talked to me was to ask me to heat up their lunch! Then, when they were all finished, no one told me they were leaving. They just left! There was never an on-site manager, like they said there would be, until after I called our sales contact and complained. I was also told that this would be a one day project, but in fact, was a two day project because we were also getting new gutters. I completely understand the reasons for it being a two day project, I was just never told it would be, so I had to rearrange my schedule so I could be home another day. Again, they came and did a good job on the actual roof, and clean up was sufficient (other than my siding getting filthy from them throwing the old roof off), but we were told some things were going to happen that never did. We hired EAS to replace our asphalt shingle roof for an insurance claim. EAS was recommended to me from a coworker. After doing some research, I reached out to them to get an estimate. The owner, Eugene Smith, came to our house on Tuesday, 3/5 to go over the details of the estimate. He was very professional and accommodating with my questions. There was a short delay in confirming the work as we needed an itemized estimate for our insurance claim. Once that was taken care of, the work was scheduled to begin Tuesday, 3/26. EAS contacted us shortly after to let us know they could actually begin the job early (Friday, 3/15). EAS was on the job first thing Friday morning - working well into the evening - and the job was completed by Saturday afternoon. I was really surprised at how quickly the job was done, as my roof is very steep and has a LOT of angles due to having 4 dormers. The guys left behind a relatively clean site considering the size of the job. The project manager - Aaron Golightly - was also very professional, providing us with regular updates on their progress. These guys get high marks all around regarding professionalism, work quality, timeliness, and communication. The only area that I felt could have been better was the communication between EAS and our insurance adjuster. My initial conversation with Eugene had me under the impression that EAS would be working directly with our insurance company to help get the claim amount closer to the cost of the actual job. We were often playing middle man between the two, and ended up paying just under 25% of the cost out of pocket. We anticipated having to pay a significant amount out of pocket, but would have liked for EAS to work directly with our adjuster. I noticed some of the other reviewers mentioning that the raised dumpster was not used on their jobs. It was not used on our job as well, even though it was a selling point during my initial meeting with Eugene. I wasn't bothered by it, but thought it was worth mentioning since others had the same experience. In the end, my wife and I were pleased with EAS, later hiring them to perform an inspection on the house we're in the process of buying. I have already recommended them to others. read more

The roofers did a great job on installing the new roof. They used satellite to look at the roof and to give an estimate saving me a call-off from work. That worked out well without any issues. The work was completed in a timely manner despite the rain and flooding in the Pittsburgh area. The office and foreman contacted me enough to let me know when they would be completing the work. The price was reasonable and I was informed of any additional charges that would be added before they added something. All of the workers were clean, professional and very respectful. The foreman arrived exactly on time and made sure that I was satisfied with the roofing and gutters before accepting payment. The transaction from financing to installation was smooth. Very disappointed with the work completed & customer service. EAS Roofing did work on my home to fix a leaky skylight this past winter. After completing their work they assured me that everything had been fixed. I was skeptical because there was some obvious cosmetic damage that I pointed out to them. They mentioned that they don't fix cosmetic damage but I shouldn't worry because the important stuff was fixed. I reluctantly agreed and paid them for the visit. The very first rainstorm we experienced shortly after backed up my initial skepticism. Rain was leaking through as much as ever! Frustrated that they hadn't done the job right the first time, I called them back to come take a look. They refused to do so without charging me again for an extra visit. They don't guarantee their work beyond 30 days. Since it had been approximately 60 days since their visit, I was out of luck I was told. Can't say that speaks well for the quality of their work or the way they treat customers. AVOID. read more

Second question worker asked was about billing me...before he asked what the problem was. The first roofing company I ever hired that did not want to see the interior damage to help assess the leak. They were there from the knock on the door to exiting the property approximately 45 minutes but charged me a full hour at $350 and $50 for sealant. They were on the roof for about 20 minutes. Very poor communication. They then emailed an invoice within 2.5 hours and called my cell 2 hours after that about the invoice. Wow are they great at collections. I pay my bills, even for poor service. They are a rip off!! Do not use. I have multiple roofers for different properties I own, this company was the worse and won't use them again. read more

Zack also provided a recommendation on my current ridge vent, which I appreciated. Our roof was damaged during a storm so we called 6 roofing contractors for quotes. EAS Roofing was not the least expensive but was very reasonably priced and the references we checked all were positive. There were challenges to doing the roof, such as the back of the house being 40' high and requiring scaffolding for safety. Our insurance company initially was going to cover about 50% of the cost to replace the roof but the sales consultant, Ryan, was able to have almost all of the cost covered, which was quite amazing. The entire job took 3 days, including new gutters and fascia. We highly recommend EAS. Many of our neighbors have commented on how nice our roof looks and we are very pleased with the end result. read more

I would not recommend this company and warn with caution before wasting your time. I called them back in July to get a gutter estimate, they came out quickly and got me a total. Their price was cheaper then anyone's and they had good reviews online so I decided to give them the job. I spoke to the rep who came to our house and he said for me drive down to their office to complete the paperwork. I told him that they should be emailing or bringing me the paperwork and that I shouldn't have to drive to your office location to do so. So he said to call his office which I did to make the 1/3 of the payment and have them email me the contract. The rep at the office told me that I needed to go back to the sale rep because it had been almost a month since they quote, I explained that I've been leaving messages with their rep for weeks before he called me back which was on them and we were not going to renegotiate the price. They have a deal where if you agree to the service the same day they give you 5% off, well I'm pretty sure they tried to get out of that by trying to blow me off then pretend like I'm the one who waited. At this point I'm heated so I called and spoke to the manager and she apologized for the inconvenience and said she'd make sure the rep would come out to my house that Monday with the paperwork and to have me make the payment, well Monday came and nobody ever showed up. If a company can't even have show up or return phone calls then I'm pretty sure their work ethics will be about the same. If you do call them, have fun with the run around games, it's a good way to waste of a month of your time and still be at square one with your project! read more

When I made an appointment about repairing siding I stated the house is three stories and may need a long ladder or scaffolding. The previous EAS repairman (last year) stated that a long ladder or scaffolding would be needed. I had to pay a diagnostic fee in advance. EAS cancelled my appointment six times. To be fair several times the cancellation was due to weather. When the tech finally arrived he stated that he could not do the work because his ladder was not long enough and he did not have scaffolding. EAS would not refund the diagnostic fee. read more

Timely, professional, accommodating! I recently moved into an amazing home, but unfortunately discovered a leak during a recent downpour. I called EAS and informed them of not only the leak, but my need to return to NYC by the end of the week to finalize my moving arrangements. They had a man out here the same day and addressed the areas in most need of attention. The roof will eventually be replaced in the Spring, but I feel more confident there will not be issues until that occurs. We had the same experience as a previous reviewer. The owner came to our home to give us an estimate, showed a a pamphlets with the dumpster that lifts up to the roof and told us they use it on all of their jobs. We loved this idea because we live in a townhouse, so it was nice to know that debris from our roof wouldn't be getting in our neighbor's yards and because we have dogs, so we wouldn't have to worry about them getting hurt on debris. They did not use the lift. A dumpster was delivered 2 days before they started and they never brought the lift. They use subcontractors, which no one told us beforehand, but apparently it is on the contract that you sign. They workers got tar on our deck and our back door that no one cleaned up. We found nails on our deck and neighbor's front porch. Their air compressor left oil in our driveway on the first day and on the second day (when they did the gutters) the van left truck left oil on our driveway. I was promised someone would come and clean up once the dumpster was removed. They never showed up. We cleaned up nails and a utility knife blade from our driveway. After I complained again to our project manager, I was promised he would personally come and clean the oil up from our driveway and a week later no one has come (2 weeks after the work was done). I am now under the impression that wan they have your money you are no longer a concern to them. I would not recommend using them. read more

Great company with great repair men, I had an issue with a skylight leaking and eas roofing came out and provided me with a reasonable price and fixed the skylight the same day, Ryan and Dean showed me photos of the before and after and even emailed them to me.
