Absolutely the best Automotive Repair experience I have ever had. Honest, fair, and competent. 3…read morethings that are hard to find these days. I recommend the Greenville Transmission Clinic whole-heartedly.

I didn't hear anything so I called at the end of the day on Wednesday (no one called me) and I was told that there was a back up and my car hadn't gotten on the lift. I then called on Thursday to get an update and was told that someone would get back to me. Someone finally called and said that I would have to pay an additional $100 for "more testing", and that they didn't "think" it was the transmission and was probably the catalytic converter. I agreed and then called back on Friday and was told that it hadn't happened yet and that someone would get back to me. The following Monday, I reached out to see what was happening and was told that the shop had just opened (it had been opened for almost an hour - and it's Monday, the day the 2 work-day-a-week diagnostician was supposed to be there, but whatever) and that someone would get back to me by the end of the day to give me an update. Once again, no update by the end of the day and no call on Tuesday morning. So I ended up going down, found out that the "additional" testing hadn't happened (they obviously didn't charge me for that). I ended up having the car towed somewhere else. The gentleman at the front desk explained that there was a back-up, etc., but the fact that there was almost zero communication is pretty unacceptable when you've had someone's car for a week. Communication is key and I honestly would have been happy with a text notification - the customer shouldn't be the one reaching out constantly for information. BTW, the new shop called me about 20 min after I dropped the car off and will have it ready at 2pm.

This was the third bad transmission in my 2000 Odyssey in 241,000 miles. Hearing you have a bum transmission are words I have gotten used to with my Honda. Great van! Poor transmissions. Honda covered the first 3 under warranty but at 241K they would cover it no longer. Anyway Cain's was first rate. I always seemed to speak to the same person, Adam. When I brought my van in naturally my question was "you rebuid these, what is wrong that cause them to fail?". Adam took me through it. He brought out the parts to show me what was going wrong and he was also able to tell me WHY. Now he was not only going to install a Cain's rebuilt tranny he was also going to fix the problems that caused them to fail. He showed me the new 5X as large cooler they would install. He showed me the in-line filter with magnetic trap that they would install. Then he told me something I never read in a manual... Replace the Honda Tranny fluid each 15,000 miles. They repaired my van in record time, a couple of days (better then their estimate of a week). They were nice. Adam did not try to rush me through, he took the time to explain. He inspected all the parts like; motor/transmission mount and CV axles. There were no other issues with my van. I don t know who much other shops charge for repair. Cost was $2K plus tax... Hey that is only about 4 car payments! We have driven the car about a hundred miles. No issues so far. Cain's has an A+ rating with the BBB. Hard to beat that esp in this business. I am a person who likes to do his own work but in a case like this, that is just not practical. It s nice to know there is a place like Cain's (and DJ's) where I can bring my car and trust the folks repairing it. you've made ours a Merry Christmas Cain's!

Here is a personal and verifiable story. Without sending Me any photos of the "work" he did, he sends the picture I attachedon my Google review, as well as other pictures, to my wife and insist on immediate payment. My wife didn't catch the trick and she paid him. I have irrefutable proof all the photos he sent to her were fake. After finding out he tried to pass off fake photos as proof of work, I took my car around and got other opinions. Most shops didn't want to open up the engine understandably, but every mechanic I discussed the issue with was positive he couldn't have worked on my engine. Their evidence was either based on the state of the seals and fasteners, or just by a description of the original symptoms. This wasn't enough for me to think he did me wrong, so I kept looking around to know for sure. The fourth person I went to finally took a close look and I knew for sure he is a liar and took my family's money for doing nothing. I approached Josh about this peacefully in case he was desperate with a sick child or embarrassed, or any reason at all. I would have understood and worked it out with him. Instead he disparaged my character, masculinity, and threatened me. He told me he would tell the police that I threatened his life and his children, which couldn't be further from the truth. It's been over 2 weeks since I brought my knowledge to his attention because I was hoping he would make the situation right, but he only made it worse. I was scammed out of enough money to make it worthwhile going to court. It wasn't a small ticket transaction and I have a few dozen photos of proof and screenshots of our communication. Josh found multiple times in our conversation to tell me how good his heart is, which is weird because it's one of those things You observe and remember about people. People with good Hearts don't find it important to tell you how good their heart is. When I called Josh I had just moved to the area and didn't know anybody, but after this ordeal with Josh I now know almost a half a dozen shops who I wish I called. I didn't originally get suspicious when I watched him pour engine oil in like a total rookie. He poured it in with the spout on bottom so it glugged and splashed everywhere, instead of with the dipstick as a guide into the engine opening and with the bottlespout on top to allow airflow to prevent glugging. I also wasn't suspicious when I picked up my car and it ran and sounded as horrible as it did the day I brought it to him. My car ran fine after simply switching a single ignition coil, which was not worth the sum of money I paid him. He did what all dishonest mechanics, contractors, doctors, and politicians do. He told me it was way worse than it really was, he lied about what he did, and he insisted on being paid for doing nothing. Very disappointed in Josh and how the situation played out. Also disappointed in myself for ignoring several red flags up front. I didn't approach Josh with my knowledge of his dishonesty when I found out his photos were fake. I didn't approach him when several mechanics told me my symptoms in no way warranted the work I had done. I didn't approach him when multiple mechanics inspected it and concluded there was no possible way my engine could have been taken apart to do the work. I only approached Josh when someone went in and I knew for sure. After seeing the side of Josh I saw when I told him what I knew, I'm anticipating retaliation. I would not put yourself in a position to be taken advantage of by Josh. Maybe it was his first scam, maybe not. My suspicion is at a significant number of his Google reviews are paid for by him after unverifiable and uninspectable work. If I was the first one he took advantage of I don't think he would have responded so aggressively. Seems like he would have been apologetic and embarrassed. I wrote this using voice to text so pardon errors. I can provide more details or photos if needed. My Google review has an example of a fake photo he tried to pass off as proof of work, but I have several others Best wishes Chris Edit, just found out I can attach photos
