The city's bureaucracy was already difficult, but SoFlo Tiki made everything worse. They tore the structure down, left the pole stumps sticking out as a tripping hazard for months and kept delaying the project with the excuse that they were "in the Bahamas working on other jobs." When they finally decided to show up again, they raised the price on the spot and demanded immediate payment without providing a revised contract. They created a brand new contract as if the original one we signed did not exist. Communications were unprofessional. John acted like a bully, insisting on payment even though they had been holding $2000 advance payment of ours since March and it was already October. He promised the job would be done in one week, it took two, and they left their trailer with palm leaves in the middle of the road long enough for the police to come and threaten to tow it. To make things even more questionable, when John demanded payment he gave us multiple different payment personal numbers that did not match the company we originally hired. In the end the final payment had to be sent to "Big Daddy's Tikis LLC," not SoFlo Tiki, just so we could finally get this ordeal over with. I would not recommend this company to anyone who expects professionalism, honesty, or basic respect for a client's time and safety.

Of the 6 contractors I reached out to, Asiel was only one of two men that took the time to come out and look at my property before providing a quote. He knew the correct set-back requirements and size of dock that the city would allow. As soon as the city passed the permitting plans, the company was ready to start. The barge he has easily fit into the narrow canal here in Lauderdale Isles without impeding boat traffic. His men used a hydraulic jet to accurately place the pilings and then used a pneumatic pile driver to drive them straight down until it stopped at the rock below. All of his men were skilled, efficient, and friendly. The workmanship, materials, stainless steel fasteners, and engineering were all top notch. The job was finished 6 working days.
