I came here like 3 years ago my first time and as soon as we were leaving they were asking for a tip even tho we clearly left it on the table and came back again and they were so rude, they told us to get moving to our table in a rude way and i was on my phone texting my sister that I haven't seen in awhile and the waitress decided to yell at me to get of my phone and pay attention to see what drink i wanted and never again will i come here, by far the worst chinease place i have been to. read more

This is the closest Chinese food buffet to my brothers place. I've been here two times and I really do like this place. I will say it's a buffet so typically you get buffet quality food. The price is decent at around 9 bucks and during the week I believe it's a little cheaper. Anyways when I go there for lunch the food is always hot and I enjoy the different dishes. At some buffets when you have one dish it taste like all the other ones but it is not the case here. Personal I will come back but you make that call. read more

These chinese buffets all get their menu from the same source. The food may be good, but they cater to a generic audience. There's very few wheat or gluten-free options - most things are breaded, dredged in flour, or slathered with soy sauce. This is true here as well. But there are enough non-wheaty items that I can make a meal, and they are tasty. So I won't starve here, but it would be nice to have more variety. Also my wife asked if there was any vegetarian protein and before she could even finish her question the rude surly waitress said "No!" No explanation. The male waiter was okay, but she was back when I paid and she acted like she would be happy if I were dead. How can they run a place in this way? I did like the fried potato chunks.... I didn't do the buffet but I did do the take out order, it's a great place to order, the call in for the takeout was kinda difficult but after 5 mins, they got my food and it was pretty decent for a Asian restaurant in around Ark City, and the price was okay, would eat again the takeout menu again! read more

We have been eating at this restaurant for years. Once the restaurant was packed and we walked through the door and a blonde haired waitress asked us how many. I answered five and she looks around and turns to us and rudely tells us. "You Need Wait!" It wasn't her telling us that we needed to wait it was the tone and the look she gave that gave us the unwelcoming feeling. We left and didn't return for a year. We decided that we would give them another chance after a year. Now every time we go to that restaurant she gives us terrible service and complains about us giving her a tip. Keep in mind this is a buffet and tips are not required at buffets as far as I am concerned but we give her something every time. Today we went in there, finished, and paid. I told her, "Your tip will be at the table." She mumbled something in her language and ended with $2 as if she was complaining about receiving a tip. Then one of my kids said, "I am going to get ice cream." She was cashing out another customer but when she walked past. Once again mumbled something in her language and the last two words that came out of her mouth was ice cream. It was as if she was listening and mocking my children. My wife and I have agreed that we will not be returning until this woman that has blonde hair leaves. I ate here around 7pm on Saturday. Being in a smaller town, I was concerned about the quality/selection (since buffets are dependent on high 'foot traffic'). In this sense, I didn't need to worry. Many of the traditional Chinese buffet items were available (soups, noodles, rice, shirimp, etc.) and some other touches that cater to those who enjoy kimchi, seaweed salad, small octopus, rice roll ("sushi"), and lychees. The quality of the food rivaled the quality in buffets I've visited that were two or three times the size. The foods were generally soy sauce/fish sauce based. I appreciated that approach (over some buffets that I have seen who use a lot of butter/mayonnaise to try to cater to perceived local preferences). Temperature was neither hot nor cold, though it is more difficult to regulate temperature in buffet food than individually prepared meals. As pleasantly surprised as I was with my ability to be satisfied with the food options and quality, I was equally disappointed with the customer service. It lacked the formal service of a larger restaurant and the friendly service of a small town restaurant. There is more to serving (even in a buffet) than placing customers in seats and clearing plates. I was not welcomed, rather asked "how many" and given a negative reaction when I said I that I was the only one in my party. The same reaction was given to the gentleman who arrived after I arrived (also a party of one). Each of us was "seated" by having a silverware roll thrown on the table (not placed pleasantly on the table or any question to see if the seat "suits the needs of the customer"). The drink order was accurate (I received a large/oversized glass of iced tea), but the service lacked the hospitality taught to servers in larger establishments (or tends to happen naturally in smaller town eateries). There was a little congestion at the buffet that I didn't expect as the staff slowly collected called-in 'To Go' orders from the buffet. It probably helps turn-over the buffet foods, but did make popular items difficult to access for a while. Plates were collected efficiently. The bill was brought at an appropriate time. Environmentally, the room was a bit dark and warm (reflecting the hot, humid day), but not unpleasant. The review (3 stars) was an average of the 4 (I rarely give 5s) I give the food and the 2 I give the service. Hospitality, however, can be a day-to-day experience. On the day I visited, the person who appeared to be the main server, seemed to be very involved with whatever she was listening to in her headphones. We customers seemed to be an unwelcome disruption to whatever she was doing on her headphones. Perhaps, it was a bad day to visit. Since I am local and can cook many of these dishes, in the future I will generally opt to cook these dishes at home. However, I do appreciate the restaurant's contribution to the diversity of the food scene in the area. I was impressed to see kimchi and other less common buffet dishes (even uncommon in larger buffets), giving the place a uniqueness that I appreciate. I just hope to see improvements in the hospitality. The food was good enough for me to have hope and the hospitality I received was tolerable in a pinch. read more

I have been eating here since they opened. Food is good, service leaves a lot to be desired. The last three times I was there, no effort was made to refill our drinks, and they slammed dishes around as they picked them up. Last night I was talking, my plate with a couple of bites of jello and my fortune cookie remaining, was literally jerked up and taken before I had time to protest. When Cindy was there, if one was lucky enough to get her, service was great, but since she left, it has gone downhill. One lady in particular seems to be mad all the time, beginning from the time one walks in the door, and it makes me very uncomfortable, there's a lot of yelling in their language between the employees. Although it use to be my favorite place to eat in Ark City, I only go there when I have a strong craving for Asian food, and I can't make it to Ponca City. Service and attitude is reason for only 3 stars. read more
