Best ham and cheese omelet and delicious hashbrowns, instead of toast you can have a pancake!

Wellington is a very small town about 1/2 hour away from Wichita. We were camping at the nearby KOA and decided to stop in for breakfast. It definitely looks like an old time diner both on the outside and the artwork inside and the well worn booth seats. We were there around 10:00 a.m. on a Thursday so it wasn't too crowded at that time. Our server was friendly and food didn't take too long although it seemed they do a big take out business. The cooks were great, they would break out in a dance every now and then while preparing delicious food. We have so much leftover, we have enough for breakfast tomorrow! I'm sad we're leaving so soon so no time to try it for dinner and dessert!

Kansas 01-2024 Tony and I stopped in Wellington Kansas on our way to see Laura Ingalls Wilder's home and we stopped at Penny's Diner for lunch. Qe both had tea to drink no beer poor Tony. I ordered a Regular Cheeseburger with fries and he ordered a Chili Cheeseburger with Fries. His was very interesting that was for sure!! He liked it very much My burger was good but I put too much mustard on it.i would eat here again if in the area. Staff was very nice

Better than average diner! Not far off I-35 at Wellington. 24 hour, breckfast all day, small selection but pretty good. Service was average. Locals eat here.

genuinely such a cute and retro diner, it's also open 24 hours. food was pretty good, standard diner food and the wait time was surprisingly speedy considering they only had one worker.

I discovered this place over 10 years ago. First time I've been here since I got the app. Not much changed. Feels like you time machined to the 50's, which is great ambience. Now, to the food. It's cooked right in front of you, so you know what you are getting. Blue plate special was meatloaf. They were out. Hubby ordered a burger with avacado. They were out of avacado. Other than that, the burger was delicious, according to hubby. Excellent onion rings. I tried one. I had the chef salad. It was huge! Full of ham, turkey and all the promised veggies. They provided a small bowl of dressing and 3 packets of crackers on the side. I was impressed, as it looked like the plates they made in my childhood. I've never been disappointed there. We had a coupon for buy one, get one free. We tipped both the cooks for a job well done. We will be back!

Not bad. A little run down, but has potential. We all enjoyed the food. A nice 50's diner vibe.

Love these old style diners. Food was great and service was very good. If you're in Wellington it's worth a visit.

They just gave us medium which is a higher cost. Food didn't take too long to arrive. Gal had a "I can't get away from you" fast enough vibe. Order was $17. Paid her a $20. She didn't have bills for change. ?? Had to go in and get that. Asked her for ketchup, salt and pepper. She went in to get that with the dollar bills for change. Came back. Had to ask her for a receipt. I wanted to check the order. It felt fishy. She said she threw out the receipt inside. Did we still want it? Yes, please. She came back out with ketchup and the receipt. The ketchup had a long hair stuck on it. My partner gave the $2 tip to the gal because we sent her back twice. I didn't know Sonic employees need a tip. I figured they make minimum wage. My partner thinks that she hadn't brought the change the first time because she wanted the $2 tip. I think that's tacky. The receipt looked accurate. I was relieved. Because he had been suspicious about it - the total was more than it should have been. He looked at it and realized it the medium tots instead of the small tots. The pickles on both sandwiches were all in a pile. This means 1 bite = all pickle in 1 bite. The trash can on the way out is situated that you can have your car tire on the curb and you can't put your trash all the way in. A trash can with a chute lid would solve that problem. The food all tasted fine. So that's good! Hopefully we won't get sick from it. If we do, I will update this review.

Order here semi frequently. The food is good but don't expect any marinara sauce with your…read moremozzarella sticks.
