Don't even get me started yall if you even open a bag of chips bugs will spawn. the school is dirty! omg there vending machine be taking the children's money unbelievable Then some of the 8th grade Teacher are rude, mean for instant there was a fight n they just let it happened! like omg do better. like really in the big 2025? but overall its good but its also not great so and there is some working they need. East Cobb was a little hell-hole, a training ground for the dumpy part of life. There was a lot of violence here. There were fights almost everyday. I saw brass knuckles more than a couple times. This is in the suburbs. This is in a community where families are above average in income. They also bring in kids from smaller communities. Kids can fight. My mom is still friends with the a teacher that was here when I went. She was nice. She left East Cobb because there was so much fighting. She had to pull snarling brats off of another all the time. She started to feel uncomfortable even though she'd been at the school for a long time. She likes where she is now much better. I did not like East Cobb. The gym teachers were all supreme dicks. One of them got hit in the face with a golf club once. He was a sassy dude and he one time gave me 3 detentions because I was running in the gym. If I let my kid go here it would only be because I'd want him/her to see how jacked people can be. I would worry about him/her all day while he/she was at school. I would probably prefer he/she went somewhere else. Behind the school there are fields and kudzu. read more

My experience here is not quite first hand, but not second hand either. My son has attended this school since K! He is currently in 4th grade. The teachers and staff are amazing friendly and staff turn is low! We have had zero issues with the school, buses, no bulling, and consistently performs well on academic standard testing! I wouldn't hesitate to do it all again here! read more

They don't have a enough fit the supplies they had a bring your parents to school there are to many kids they can't keep the in control and they called the principal it's a school I don't want my kid going to I pulled my kid out and there's to many kids in a class and the teachers aren't the nicest read more

ECMS has the #1 PTSA in the entire state of Georgia. They also have the honor of having the Cobb County Schools Volunteer of the Year as this year's PTSA President - Cindy Davis. We have a vibrant and thriving school with endless opportunities for parents to stay involved in their children's success. ECMS is open, accessible, and has many opportunities for every child to succeed where their talent guides them. The ECMS Foundation works with the school to help bring an incredible Challenge Day program every year. ECMS has one of the best music programs in the state of Georgia. Children who have never touched an instrument in 6th grade, by 8th grade are performing and excelling in the Large Group Performance ensembles. They have been receiving "Outstanding" for their music programs for many years and the music class continues to grow and thrive. It shows true dedication from the teachers, students, and parents. This continues through to the great program at Wheeler High School. The STEM program started by our incredible educator Fred Stillwell is still going strong. We are one of the few public schools who compete in the national Future City competition and our teams win many awards. The students work after school hours to create a city with different criteria every year. This is just one of the many incredible offerings from the science and STEM programs which include Robotics competition and Science Olympiads. A group of current Wheeler 10th grade girls started a Formula One competition team at ECMS in 7th grade - they were a worldwide sensation and travelled to Asia to compete. They placed in the top 5 worldwide! ECMS also helps struggling students achieve their academic goals. ECMS houses the ESOL program for students from all over Cobb County who have been in this country less than a year. Many have never spoken English, much less read or write in our language. By the end of their first year, these students are speaking, reading and writing well enough to transition into the mainstream academic curriculum. ECMS also houses the Special Needs classes for students around the county. What is important to note is that both these groups get tested with the same criteria tests that every student receives. This keeps ECMS overall test scores from being the top of the county's. Other schools don't have these specialty students. But we are proud to have them at our school! My daughter is now a 9th grader at Wheeler High School in their Magnet program. While at ECMS she formed an incredible circle of friends, helped found the ECMS Drama Club, learned how to play the oboe, was one of the ECMS ECTV crew where she learned how to work every part of a TV news show - editor, producer, anchor, etc. , and had great academic success. She had a great well rounded experience and learned about different cultures, customs and languages just by meeting new friends. My son is now in 6th grade and also decided to play the oboe for the ECMS band. He is thriving academically and is happy. Time for middle school! Oh no, where should we send our child? What a fabulous decision we made....not to mention a huge savings by not going the private route. We gave ECMS a chance and the last 3 years have been tremendous. The quality of the teaching has been superb and leadership has proven to be exceptional. The diversity of the children as well as the curriculum offered have made this a wonderful experience. We clearly made the right choice and look forward to Wheeler High School next year. I realize now that the only people who have bad things to say about ECMS are those who have never sent their children there. What a shame and a waste of a fabulous opportunity. Both of my children attended ECMS. It was wonderful to have them in a place where the staff really loves middle schoolers. And where the academic work prepared them well for high school. read more
