It has…read more32 open classrooms (most don't have all 4 walls and instead have rolling pods and bookshelves for dividers) for K-5th with one class for pre-K. They recently built a new playground and gym in the past ten years - when I was there we had to do chair aerobics in the cafeteria on rainy days because there was no gym. The teachers and administrators continue teaching here for years because of the great support from the parents in the area. Classrooms are never overcrowded, and I can't recall a time when they had to use trailers. It's my dear alma mater and there is nothing bad I could say about this school; most of my great childhood memories took place here - the spring festivals, field days, sock-hops, and fall carnivals.

Most of the staff is EXTREMELY…read moreamazing, especially the science department, the librarian (Mrs. Rubin), the fine arts teachers, the lunch ladies (except from one that is rude to her coworkers), and a few of the math teachers. Some of the staff, however is not that good. The Literature department teachers for the most part are extremely rude, and they don't seem to care about if you learn anything as long as you pass the class. One in particular is obviously not suited to be a high school teacher at all. She would fit much better in a middle school, where she worked 2 years ago. One of the science teachers, whom I myself have not personally had as a teacher, is known for being a terrible teacher that doesn't know how to teach to where the students can understand the process. She is an on level Chemistry teacher. In all honesty with the way she teaches, students would be better off in honors chemistry or earth science. The coaches are mostly rude and pick favorites, and ignore and mistreat everyone else, even if they are doing everything they can to respect them. The school cares too much about their sports teams. So much of the funding has to go into them for the equipment and courts they have. The sports teams are terrible, and I know that without paying any attention to sports in general. The science department is under appreciated and under funded for what they put out. The electives are also under funded and under appreciated, especially the fine arts department. The kids at the school aren't great over all, but there are far worse nearby. The administration is amazing. They keep things under control. They are very LGBTQ+ accepting. They even allow a transgender man use the boys bathroom without much of an ordeal at all from what I've heard. A few teachers and quite a few coaches aren't as accepting as pretty much everyone else, even the student body.

I'm leaving this review because I don't want this to happen to any other parent…read more  I was running about 10 minutes late with picking up my daughter, so I had to park my car, go to the door, show my ID and inform them of who I was picking up.  They buzzed me in, I went to the office and told Janna Moore again who I was picking up.  I proceeded to try to check my daughter out on the computer (which never works properly) and she told me to wait for a minute while she continued working on the computer and making announcements. Then she took down some notes while I was still standing there.  At this point, I could tell she was being rude and she started running down the rules about being late.  She was somehow lecturing me.  I told her I understand I was late.  At this moment I saw my daughter in the hallway with her Teacher.  So I turned and looked at Janna and said oh never mind there is Mckenzie right there.  I left the office and she didn't say anything to me nor did she run after me.  She let me walk out office, greet my daughter and her teacher, and leave the building.  I want to be clear about my daughter's Teachers. I love them and this review has nothing to do with them.  I looked down at my daughter and saw both of her shoes were untied and when we walked out the school door, I bent down to tie her shoes.  No one still did not say anything to me.  We walked to the car and drove off.  Twenty minutes later, I got the most disturbing phone call that a mother could ever receive.  I was told that I had trespassed on school property, broke in and kidnapped my daughter.  I was like what???  The officer was short and direct with me and told me to be on standby to see if the principal wanted to press charges because she had the final say.  The officer did ask for my side of the story and I told him. Then he said well they said, you didn't show ID to come in the school.  I said YES I did, it's on camera.  He never called me back so I waited and waited for hours so terrified all night.  Me and her father started sending emails to everyone trying to get answers. I was so scared I kept my daughter home the next day. I couldn't believe, as a devoted mother of two kids, I was going through this.  My daughter had been going to the school for 3 months with no issues. I believe I was profiled because this was the first time they saw me with braids in my hair and I had on a hoodie because it was raining.  The next morning the principal Timeka Cline responded at 7 am to my email and then gave me a call. After a restless night of anxiety and stress, I am still emotional and in disbelief.  I told her what happened and started crying because of the false allegations made about me.  She said she would look into it.  Before we got off the phone I asked if she looked at the cameras and she said" Yes".  I asked did you see me show my I. D before coming in the school and she said "Yes".  When she called me back she was very matter-of-fact and cold. She never showed any compassion nor offered any apology to me. She informed me that Janna told and the assistant principal Mrs. Harmon made the phone call.  She informed me that she would not be moving forward with any charges and that she would respond to my email. Which had a lot of questions.  When she responded, she was making it clear that the highway is not a place you can get your kids from. She wrote down step-by-step instructions on what the procedures were.  I don't work for the school so I can only do what I was used to doing or allowed to do.  No one ever said anything to me. It was never a hostile situation.  To immediately call the cops and have the police call me was very aggressive.  If I was in such violation of a procedure, why did she allow me to leave the building with my child in the first place?  The principal told me that this was their normal procedure so I asked her how many parents have you guys called the police on within the last year?? I got no response. I also asked why the lady Janna at the front lie and say I didn't show my ID and I kidnap my daughter. No response  It became very clear that she didn't care. Didn't even care my daughter missed school or anything that day. She never followed up with a second phone call to check on us, just No compassion with what happened. I wasn't treated fairly and what happened to me was uncalled for and I hope it never happens to any other Mother.

This location is off of South Marietta Parkway and Technology Parkway.Nearby businesses includes the Greyhound bus station. It's not as big of a campus or as crowed as the main KSU campus which is actually a good thing. The main campus can be a complete zoo and parking can quickly become nightmarish very quickly. So we found this Gem..great study rooms and free visitor parking makes this place a fantastic place for medical students! Opens 8-10 M-Thurs, 8-6 Friday, and 1-8pm on Sunday CLOSED Saturday NOTE: My friend got a parking ticket today.. 25 bucks. do to the fact she didn't get a visitor's parkng sticker.. they can give you one for lik 3 weeks but you gotta go and ask for one. I lucked out and didn't get one.. LUCKY ME!!
