Such a life-changing week and it definitely transformed the lives of everyone in my team. We literally lived on their 2nd floor for a whole week through a mission organization called Touch The World and got to experience all the joy and blessings that came through serving the people of Lynn alongside the awesome folks at ECIC :) Their arms are so stretched out and touching everyone in the community. From the Haven Project, the MetroKids, the food pantry, the LOTH coffee shop, to the My Brothers' Table - everything they do have the well-being of the people of Lynn in mind, physically, mentally, spiritually. I highly recommend checking out the Sunday services at 9:45, 11, and 12:30 (dang - I still remember it after saying it hundreds of time throughout that one week). Everyone is welcome and when they say everyone, they really mean EVERYONE. They will welcome you with open arms. There is also children program called "All City Kids" and youth program called "All City Youth" if you got kids of those age.

I was surprised by the diversity and acceptance of all that were in attendance. People of all ages and backgrounds just appeared to be at ease. Everyone was all smiles and very welcoming. Being in my twenties and not knowing what to expect, I was super nervous to attend as I have mostly been to Catholic churches in the past and not regularly. But I was at ease almost immediately. I signed my children into the kid's programs they offer before service started. There are various programs for kids of all ages (Lil' City Babies for ages 0-2, a nursery; Lil' City Kids for ages 3-4; and All City Kids, for ages 5-11). They really interact in such a positive way in all these children's lives. My children left so happy, excited to share their experience, and with a desire to return. I mean what kids honestly say they cannot wait to go back to church????? Well, here at ECIC, your kids will!! The adult service is so refreshing and relatable. There is music, a great sermon, and even good coffee lol. They also have a Wednesday service that follows with small groups so that you can reflect on what was discussed. I have gone every week since and wouldn't have it any other way. For the first time EVER, I feel like I can get close to Jesus in a way I didn't know was possible and it is because of this loving, accepting community. ECIC gives back to the community on so many levels, check it out, don't be shy. There is no parking lot which can be a bummer, but there is street parking available.

My husband and I started attending St Joseph's Church when our boys were six and three years old…read more Although we lived in Stoneham, this wonderful church in Wakefield was perfect for us, because we always took our boys into what was called "the crying room". We were able to attend Mass with two little ones in a glass-enclosed room and not disturb anyone. My sons are now 45 and 42! About 18 years ago, we returned to St Joseph's, after attending St Patrick's in Stoneham for many years, only because my boys were attending St Patrick's School. We felt like we had "come home". Fr Ron is wonderful, and has truly enriched our spiritual lives. There is so much available at St Joseph's to increase anyone's faith! There is daily Mass (twice each morning), along with praise and worship of the Eucharist, Adoration of the Eucharist, Bible classes, faith formation discussion groups, and opportunities to volunteer to help the bereaved, along with knit and pray while making beautiful afghans for those in need. There are dinners for the needy Who welcome volunteers. St Joseph's is a wonderful family parish that is welcoming to everyone. Fr Ron is a holy and faith-filled pastor who will inspire you with his homilies. My husband and I feel so fortunate to be members of St Joseph's Church in Wakefield.

The Vacation Bible School is unparalleled and Caleb, the parish dog, delights all the children (and many adults!) after each Mass.

My parent's were married here…read more One of my sister's was married here. I don't know how to review a church. I'm not a religious man. But this place has sentimental value to me. I have been to masses here once or twice these past few years. They're fine. I guess. I do like the style of this place. Has the old stained glass brick and mortar feel to it. Plus they re-painted it a couple years ago. Looks awesome inside now. Pristine. If you enjoy going to Catholic mass, you could do worse than go here to have your soul saved!!!

The clergy are welcoming to all. The clergy obviously take their job of preaching very seriously and the sermons are usually inspiring and often challenging ... two things a sermon should be! The atmosphere is one of inclusion and welcome and not exclusion and judgment. The religious education program has well over 1000 students. The youth programs, led by a dynamic youth minister are very well attended with hundreds of teens on the membership list. The elementary school is a real gem with teachers who have been there for decades! Get there early if you want a seat ... especially at the 10am Mass. A full church is a sign that they're doing something right!

I read the other review about the priest here not being friendly. The problem is not that he's…read moreunfriendly, but that he seems to be angry ... a lot. And judgmental! Also, I don't "get it" when these younger priests (he appears to be under 40) prance around in cassocks and those funny looking hats with the pom poms (can't think of the name of them). I thought the reforms of Vat 2 did away with all that "finery." I'm sure he "means well," but Father, chill, will ya with the ecclesiastical drag. And it's not the local pastor's fault, but what is it with this new translation of the Mass? I'm sure the sentence structure was fine in Latin, but in English is awkward at best and not understandable at its worst. I see it as a sign of the creeping exlusionary policies of the RC church. We sing "All are Welcome," but we mean "Some, but not All, are Welcome." We used to be regular attendees at St. Mary's back in the 80's and 90's, (my wife and I both went to the school through 8th grade) but we started going to the Paulist Center in Boston when St. Mary's took a 180 degree turn in 1997 back to the 19th century. We go to St. Mary's when we cannot get into Boston or we go to the Unitarian meeting house a few steps away where we know we are not going to get a political barage about contraception and same sex marriage, but will be accepted where we are.

I think it's wonderful how clever it is that it utilizes an office space when finding a church space is scarce. God bless the priestly Fraternity of the Society of Saint Pius X . They singlehandedly through their founder, Archbishop Lefebvre, saved the true Catholic priesthood and thus the true Holy Mass and the Sacraments in their proper form, matter and intent.

This review is for the Chapel bookstore…read more Our search for Archbishop Marcel Lefebvre's books led us to the St. Catherine of Siena SSPX Chapel, that also has a bookstore. Like all Chapel bookstores, the selection of books is small, but the store has an excellent selection of Catholic books. We found many books by Archbishop Lefebvre as well as many pre-Vatican II books by publishers such as TAN at prices comparable to those found online! A few treasures from this store are hard to find books such as: Fr. Francis Xavier Lasance (Blessed Sacrament prayerbook, The Young Man's guide, The Catholic Girl's guide), the highly-rated Catechism by R.P. Bailly (The Catechism In Pictures), as well as the the 3 volume set (hardcover) by Michael Davies (Cranmer's Godly order, Pope John's Council, Pope Paul's New Mass). Parking is outside the Chapel, in a private lot (no parking fees). The bookstore is open after Holy Mass on Sunday (after 10am to around 11am). + In JMJ +

The husband/wife pastor team are a young, energetic couple who have truly embraced the community they lead. The music was passionate and genuine and the people were very friendly. I was amazed at how long the people hung out after the service just to talk and get to know each other. The atmosphere was very low pressure and relaxed. If you live in the area it would be a great church community to be a part of!!!
