We have been bringing our son to East Lake Pediatrics consistently since the day after he was born. He's two years old now and not always in control of his emotions. Sometimes it escalates into breath holding. After a recent breath holding experience, we decided to inform his doctors so they could establish a record of it. Unfortunately, due to miscommunication between the triage nurses and doctors, it led to a very bad experience that put our family through a lot of heartache. Instead of clearly communicating to us that we needed to bring our son in for evaluation, they called Child Protection Services! Unfortunately, once you've been reported, you have to go through with a whole investigation. We had to have our son evaluated by the CPS medical staff, who agreed with our assessment of breath holding, but wanted to differ treatment to his regular doctor, and so we scheduled a follow up examination with East Lake Pediatrics. We met with Dr. Trudi Rash who was completely rude and unprofessional. She came into the room and introduced herself like she was a stranger who never met us before! She confirmed that she did receive the message about breath holding and that she was the one that directed the call to CPS be made.  We questioned why she wouldn't have called us first, or why the practice would not have reached out to us, prior to taking such a drastic step.  We have been going to this practice for two years and have a clear record of bringing our son into the office when needed and following the doctor's recommendations. Instead, Dr. Trudi continued insisting that they did contact us and that the medical note confirmed their version of events (she was unable to find the note, and it was omitted from the medical records when we later requested them). After examination, Trudi agreed that it was indeed a breath holding spell and our son did not need to seek further medical treatment. We have since received clearance from a neurologist, who also confirmed that our son has breath holding episodes. According to the neurologist, there is nothing to be done at this time and he said that we demonstrated the knowledge and ability to handle these episodes. We are appalled at how this was handled. We are NOT neglectful parents! We would certainly have brought him in. The practice took no ownership of the miscommunication, took no responsibility for casting aspersions on our parenting, and felt no remorse for failure to acknowledge the impact on our lives. Dr. Trudi was clueless about a patient she'd been seeing for two years, was defensive about how they handled it, rude and unprofessional, and uncaring about what we'd been through. In addition to the frustration, humiliation, and time off work for CPS meetings/appointments and medical evaluations, my wife, who is a teacher, was unable to return to work until CPS satisfactorily closed the investigation because her school understandably has a strict policy regarding employees undergoing CPS investigation. Our family has left this practice for another one where we receive more individualized care from a doctor who is more communicative and personable with their patients. read more

I had a bad experience with my child at this practice. The service is very impersonal and they don't seem to care for the kids. They once left me in a room with no toys for 1.5 hr waiting with my 2 years old to be seen. And they had no empathy for us. All they did was talk down to me, because my son did not want to stay in the room any more. After that I decided to change to a more personalized practice and when I did I found out that Eat Lake Pediatrics had put one of the only two shut I had my son done there in the wrong timing. So my new pediatrician told me it would not count and I have to vaccinate him again. That is unacceptable mistake. They only had to make sure there were 4 months in between shots but they didn't. To make matters worst they said their financial department was going to call me to give me back the money of the vaccine but they never called. No surprise there read more

We've been seeing Dr Jordan for over a decade. We are always treated with kindness and respect at every appointment. Dr Jordan takes his time listening to all of our concerns and respects our decisions. He is also quite hilarious which puts our children at ease. read more

I recently moved to the north portion of Pinellas County from Polk County which meant finding a new everything. We have been coming here for 2 years and I have never had a problem with scheduling. Every single staff member and physician has been kind and accommodating. It's a clean and well kept office. I feel like we've found a gem which we are so grateful for and I LOVE the online registration, I feel like it's so much more efficient. I love I have an option to keep a form of payment on file and the text reminders. I guess you can tell by my review we are fans. Thank you all for running a great practice! read more

My family and I are new to the area. I attempted to make an appointment with the office. The rude office girl told me that they did not accept my insurance at their office. I confirmed the office is in my network with my provider BCBS twice. I am glad I did not take my kids to this medical practice after reading all the negative reviews. It is scary that this office now has all my private information. The negative reviews about the staff are congruent with my experience attempting to make an appointment. The incompetent staff is an indication the doctors only care about money and not patient care. They probably do not pay their staff enough to attract competent employees. I would stay away from this practice and Doctor. read more

Stay away!!!! They misdiagnosed my son more than a few times. Had to take him to another doctor to actually get accurate medical diagnosis and treatments. Their lack of caring is incredible!!! Every time you ask them a direct question, you get the run around. They always act like they are just too busy to be concerned. Would not recommend them, EVER! read more

I brought my two year old daughter in for a routine visit, back in June 2022. She had a little head cold.. sniffles, fever.. no big deal. The visit was completely normal.. they had me in and out of the office pretty quickly. Less than twelve hours later, two CPS agents showed up to my door and claimed that my pediatrician had reported that I walked into their office with a black eye. As the agent was standing right in front of me at that point, she could visibly see that that there was nothing wrong with my face, but regardless, I lost custody of my three children. I have been fighting for a year to get them back.. I have lost my entire life and everything I ever had over this. I can't thank you enough for being such a DISGUSTING human being to make up a vicious lie like that and completely ruin someone's life. I would not wish what I was going through on my worst enemy.. I have now watched that same child that I brought into your office suffer gross medical negligence in state custody.. to the point where she ended up in a coma. Perhaps you should consider the consequences before you make false accusations about someone. You sent me on my way with a reassuring smile and enabled child traffickers to steal my children. If you want your child to be a number rather than a patient, you'll love this place. My son had gone (past tense) to this office for 3 years. A couple of weeks ago, he fainted on a plane headed home. There was a pediatric nurse on the plane who said he seemed fine, but to take him to his doctor to he sure. These fine folks were booked for the day and refused to take 5 minutes to see him. Today, while waiting for the doctor, we were informed that our insurance (which they have accepted in the past) is no longer part of their plan. This office is a joke. We have been twice now to see Dr Jessica in the sick side and she has been wonderful and personable and not stuffy. I really enjoyed our visit even though my 8 mo son had the flu, they took us right in and answered all our questions. Highly recommend them! read more

Both of my boys go to this pediatrician's office. Typically we see Dr. Jessica. She is very sweet and gentle with the boys. Very easy to schedule appointments and someone is always available for non-emergency situations to answer any questions or concerns you might have. Typically always on time at this location. I've had to wait at their trinity office but this one is fairly efficient. read more

My boys have been patients for several years. The office is clean, the staff is friendly, and I have always been happy with the care provided by the doctors. I am a divorced mom of 2 boys. Both of which have ADHD. Dr. Jessica recommended medication that has helped significantly. My youngest went from a C average to straight A's and is now in advanced classes. Recently my ex husband had an argument with Dr. Jordan. I received a letter letting me know that they are withdrawing care from my children since the doctor and my ex husband have a difference of opinion. I had no knowledge of the argument until I received the letter. I have always been the parent that primarily takes the children to the doctor and I've always complied with their recommendations for care. I feel like it would have been appropriate for the doctor to call me to discuss the problem before withdrawing as caregivers. I have had a long standing, positive relationship with both Dr. Jordan and Dr. Jessica. Children can not advocate for themselves and a pediatrician should be willing to advocate for them. If it was a continual problem that had tried to be remedied, I would understand. I hope in the future they can be a better advocate for their patients. Dr. Jordan is an excellent pediatrician with a very welcoming bedside manner. I'm sure any mother can relate to the fear and anxiety experienced when a child is sick or hurts themselves. Dr. Jordan has always provided extremely competent and compassionate medical service in emergency and non-emergency situations. His staff is always friendly and the clinics are very clean. read more

We just started coming here a few month ago, our child had a physical that went ok. I had to call this week my child got a bad sinus infection. When we got there the nurse practitioner Rosie said because we didn't wait a full week (it was already 5 days) that it was only a virus and she will not prescribe anything, we told her that our child was prone to sinus infections but she would not give us anything. We left very unhappy. They collected a copay for no results. The next day my child was much worse and missed school I had to now go to the walk- in clinic where they diagnosed it as a sinus infection. Another expense that should have been diagnosed properly in the first place. He finally got the antibiotics he needs a day later. Be very careful with this practice they are very hesitant on prescribing any antibiotics when the child needs it. Not every patient is a textbook case. I was not happy. I will not be going back for anything serious. The walk-ins do a better job. read more

Took my daughter here when she was extremely sick and lethargic and with fever. One of the female doctors/ARNPs saw her and refused to prescribe her antibiotics, stated it was viral. I called later on and begged this doctor/ARNP for a prescription for antibiotics and she refused and laughed at me and said you live in Westchase and take your daughter to East Lake Pediatrics? Took my daughter to the ER and they did an X-Ray and found she had pneumonia. East Lake Pediatrics uses scare tactics on your kids to try and get you to give them the HPV vaccine. They told my young daughter when she was sitting right next to me that she was going to get STDs since I was refusing to give her the vaccine. Unbelievable and unprofessional treatment for a ten year old child. The nurses are not very bright and are very rude. This place is full of idiots and assume sicknesses are viral and push vaccines that are not mandatory. Terrible office, I do not recommend it and have found a great pediatrician since then. read more

The staff is excellent. Great Practice. If my daughter is sick she is always seen the day I call. They are so caring and thorough. I highly recommend East Lake Pediatrics!!! read more
