We never know what kinds of creatures will show up when Keith gets started.

They host my friend Keith Crocker and his great film presentations on topics like music, horror, classic movies and more. https://www.asoulinwonder.com/post/with-dr-faustus-md-a-k-a-keith-crocker-it-s-not-what-we-see-it-s-what-we-don-t-see We never know what kinds of creatures will show up when Keith gets started. That monster is getting too close to Keith's wife Christine who works at the library. FTI-She made us deeeelicious caramel popcorn!

It was our first time visiting this library and it was part of our Nassau Library Tour 2023. The library was bright and spacious. The children's room was clean, well organized, nicely decorated and lots of activities for the kids to do. My kids enjoyed the scavenger hunt inside the children room a lot. The library was having an exhibit about space / moon right now. It was very informative and my kids had a great time learning about the space by playing with their interactive kiosk machine. It was a fun visit.

I love taking my daughter here for the programs they have for the kids. There is a play area for kids with lots of toys and a sensory toy area as well with a few toys. They have seasonal reading clubs for kids to raffle for prizes. There are also lots of programs for kids and adults to utilize. There are also museum passes available to rent. Some passes now are digital to print out and some are still physical passes. Each have different regulations of how many admissions and rules which are listed on the library website.

Most of the passes you can print from home, but there are a few where you need to pick the pass up from the library. I especially like to use the empire pass to get free admission to beaches and state parks. The library has a good selection of video games, DVD and blue rays. I find myself using this perk less often now with streaming being more convenient, but I will occasionally borrow a series that streams from a platform that I do not subscribe to or to avoid commercials. There are programs for patrons of all ages. Summer reading programs with some incentives are for adults, teens and children. My niece has been enjoying tots at night and story time. She also loves the children's area that has a kitchen, cashier stand, doll houses, puppet theater and Lego table. The staff are kind, helpful and knowledgeable. It's great to see them when visiting.

The negative is that the play area for toddlers is not self contained , so our toddler of course wanted to walk around the corridor and go out. There are some libraries that have a closed play areas, making it much easier to navigate. Plainview and Syosset libraries are just two that have a closed area, which is easier. The librarians at the north merrick library were very nice and helpful

All for fracquets, the Town of Hempstead libraries share benefits. I go to East Meadow library every month for a lecture on gardening. I try to go to all the cooking classes at North Merrick Library. Some you watch and some you make along with the host. You always get samples! If you think your library only offers books, you're so wrong. Support your libraries!

My experience my first visit was very similar to having a space that I could work and not have to worry. Everything I needed for my project was there. I lost track of time working. I was so comfortable in the environment. Printing was easy. Glad I visited it. Kept passing it going to and from class to one day I just said let me go and utilize the time. You can book a room for group sessions or meetings too. Bring your child, books for them too.

If you like solitude but you want to eat, go to the third floor towards the windows. 3. If you need to take a nap go to the 2nd floor (quiet floor). 4. Never put a $10 or more into the copy machine ( witnessed a $50 bill disappearing into the toll and the student still seeing $0.00). 5. Not able to afford to copy your textbooks? Take pictures and transfer it to your computer or iPad (professor friendly). 6. The third floor by the boys bathroom there are outlets connected to the table, it's the perfect place to charge your electronics. 7. Always email your documents prior to printing. Never rely on just a USB portable (Microsoft 2010). 8. During the summer they do ID checks. 9. Never, NEVER, leave your headphones home. Boisterous students will come and act barbaric suddenly. Improvements: The bathrooms, and the staff. In my opinion, I think they need to hire more college students for the secretarial jobs. The women on the "Quick Print" side have such a distinct attitude, and sarcasm to the point I rather ask a dog for help. Also, they were always talking about their husbands, and love life. Hence, #9 the headphones. You're Welcome.
