It's a huge branch, 2 floors building. There is a security guard by the entrance. There are special playroom for children, activity room for teens and a meeting room for adults . I have seen posted programs and activities for each level. I maybe a frequent guest here, an hour stay to browse or read is a plan. Will check again later.

Absolutely They also offer notarization, which is a very convenient service to have. I also really appreciate the variety of programs available. I've been taking my son to one of the children's programs, and he really enjoys it. My main concern is the cleanliness in the children's section. I think that area could use more attention, especially around the Lego area and the kids' toys in terms of regular cleaning and disinfecting. The carpets in the children's section also seem like they could be deep cleaned more often. Honestly, I think more frequent carpet cleaning would benefit this location and many other library branches across Long Island as well.

Only problem is the parking lot is on the other side of the street and the traffic is so bad on Hillside Avenue. Cars drive very fast on Hillside Avenue and I feel scared even when standing there to wait for the traffic light.

I came to this library for the first time for toddler open play and I thought it was great! It took…read moreplace on the 2nd floor and the area is next to a bunch of windows so you can see outside facing the library parking lot and street. A lot of natural light comes in and it's a big space for open play with a ton of toy options and a table just for coloring. The one negative is once open play is over (about an hour), they put away all the toys. I've been to other libraries where they leave the toys out for the children to play with as long as the library is open. The parking lot is very big and there were plenty of spots when I went, which was a weekday at 4:30pm. I liked how the open play was in the middle of the day as early times don't work for my family's schedule.

Broadway quality shows for a fraction of the price. The Plaza Organization had humble beginnings in the early 80's. They have provided countless shows, workshops etc. since then. Working with various organizations across Long Island. The new venue at the library opened in January 2021. The 7000 square foot space houses a 420 seat theater and various offices. It puts on fully staged Broadway performances complete with a live orchestra! My friends and I had the pleasure of seeing their production of South Pacific on Friday 10/15/2021. It was spectacular! There are three other plays slated to run to complete the entire season. Each production runs for four weeks. I am currently gathering more friends and family to see their next production, Man Of La Mancha!! I was contacted by the Freeport Memorial Library to participate in National Author's Day. Since I…read moream an inspirational author of course I accepted. Upon arriving there was amble parking behind the library. I then proceeded to enter the lobby and the circulation desk. Everything seemed up to date and everyone was very efficient. I told the receptionist I was there for the Author event and she contacted Maryellen and she told me to go upstairs the event room. There 6 tables set up, a stage with a big screen monitor, computer at the podium and a microphone. Chairs were setup for the audience. There were six authors in all and we each had an opportunity to speak about our books. The event was well organized and well attended and I was able to meet the other authors and some members of the audience. This library always has something going on. The community is fortunate to have such a library in the area. At some point I would like to return to speak more about my work. Thanks to Maryellen for all ran smoothly.

She loves her job and the kids of valley stream which I appreciate so much. My father uses takes my daughter and we always raves about how fun the events are with Ms. Kunz. I went for myself and was so impressed. She gets all the kids involved and happy. In the summer they have the story times all around the neighborhood such as firemans field, village green, green acres mall and more. My daughter absolutely loves the Valley Stream childrens program and as a parent who couldn't afford summer camp I appreciate this program so much. It helps us keep our children busy and entertained. Ms Kunz, please keep doing the children's program because you are a blessing to Valley Stream and it's residents!

I currently have my youngest niece enrolled at Hofstra, who also had her HS graduation here, and my other niece had her college graduation held at Hofstra. I've been to the university several times, for graduation ceremonies, and to help cousins move into their dorms and moving out. The school is very easy to navigate. There's clear signs all throughout, and the parking lots of heavenly lit at night. There's always onsite security cruising around, which is a plus and gives that extra layer of protection that you, and your family who are attending are safe. The events, and student get togethers that I so often hear about are all planned by the student council, and they always seem well organized and though out, and fun might I add! You can always find something going on at the campus, planned and hosted by the students themselves. Emily, loves it here. She's forever ranting and raving about the events, meetings, after school events, bake sales, culture nights etc. All of which she helps to plan as she's the head of the student council. If you're a parent thinking to send your child here to further their education, no need to think twice. It's a great private school. The beautiful and historic Dutch estate has been ranked as a top schools in the US for many years in a row. You and your child will love and appreciate the history Hofstra has.
