Shawn did a project for me that initially looked like a long term fix. After I saw some settling a year or so later I reached out to Shawn and he agreed to come out and take a look. After the meeting Shawn said he would be out within about two weeks to come take care of the issue with a little more lifting. Now a year later after texts, phone calls and emails that have all been ignored I am sitting with an issue and no warranty repair. Shawn was eager to talk about his warranty and his website boats of an industry leading 5 year warranty but do not believe it! It is just sad because my fix is so easy and he is still has no follow through and does not care about honoring our contract. Look elsewhere for your project.

If you have had siding installed from Elk River Exteriors beware. You may have been told there is…read morea warranty on it. They do not warranty due to their faulty installation. This is a complaint for siding issue that I filed with the installer July 28th of 2022 for what are called nail pops on my siding. They are visible on three sides of the house. East, West, and South. No nail pops on the North side of the house. When I contacted the installer, they told me that I needed to file a warranty claim against the maker of the siding. (I also sent Elk River exterior photos of the siding.) Elk River Exterior claimed it was a problem with the siding. So I filled out a warranty form and sent pictures to the manufacturer (PLY GEM). Also the owner of Elk River Exterior came and took pictures of the problem and sent to Ply Gem. After much time of going back and forth with the manufacture (Ply Gem) and the Installer (Elk River Exteriors), the manufacture of the siding (Ply Gem) finally sent a Technical Service Representative to inspect the siding in April. His response to the (Nail Pops) was found to be the direct result of improper installation techniques or practices. Some of the discrepancies noted but not limited to include *Nailing at end of nail slots *Nails protruding * Nails from nail hem causing heat buildup/water retention between the panel and fastener. * Nailed to tight, nails at opposite ends of nails, and /or panels that were not given proper clearance to expand as temperatures varied. Ply Gem encouraged us to contact the company that installed siding. But Elk River Exteriors still insist that it is a manufacturing issue with the siding and as of June 19th, 2023 I received a voicemail from the Owner of Elk River Exterior that they will not be correcting the issue.

The drivers do not have heat in the trucks during winter nor do they have air conditioning in the summer. Comfort wise my vehicle was very hot after parking in unshaded parking lots for 8 hrs a day. I researched and found window tinting as an option. After asking many questions on tinting, the owner gave me a fair price and didn't try to upgrade me from the 3M tint vs ceramic. He recommended ceramic for people who are always on the road vs just a daily computer like myself. The price was about a $200 dollar difference. I scheduled my appointment and dropped my vehicle off for 3 hrs. The quality was great and 3M has a lifetime warranty. I noticed a 10 degree difference in my vehicle within the first few days. It was totally worth it to get all my windows tinted.

Restoration work is more difficult than new construction, since it involves walls and surfaces that may not be straight, antique cabinetry, more abundant and varied millwork, and much already in place that has to be worked around. Neither job was simple, and our current job has presented extra challenges in fitting stone (and a weird sized sink) into existing original cabinetry. Measuring and fabrication was more difficult, and they had to return to adjust a piece due to a very tight fitting issue. We have been so grateful to work with a family company with experience and the determined perfectionistic commitment to getting things right no matter the unique challenge presented to them. The results have been beautiful.
