What's great about Annie is that the process of designing the tattoo is more collaborative. The shop itself I find good. They usually have great rock/ metal music playing, they have a tv that plays a slide show of all the artists past works. I think that's cool because it gives you the sense of what to expect. James and Anna consulted with me to get an idea of the work I was looking to have done, and provided their insight on the designs. Biggie was your piercer and he was so supportive and understanding! He was very knowledgeable, and answered every question we had! Biggie is the only reason why I have a nose piercing in right now LOL. He used sterile tools, and the process went by so fast. I barely even felt it! Fast forward through 42 years of life and becoming disabled a few months ago--I realized it's time to step into the new me. No more excuses. It was time to JUST DO IT! After tons of research and contacting multiple studios that couldn't quite catch the vision or do the very straight lines I wanted, I found the perfect artists. So I contacted Richard and Maia with Electric Shark Tattoo Studio, and calling them amazing is an understatement. Walking into their studio felt like stepping right into high school art class, with Maia as the cool art teacher guiding the way. The studio had very chill and laid back vibes and for someone getting their first tattoo it was the perfect place to not feel over overwhelmed. I think its also important to to say I thought the studio was way clean and I noticed that Maia set her area up like a hospital room. She had everything all in order and the place all sterile. This made my OCD, germophobe self so happy. Personally I wasn't even thinking about any of this stuff until I saw how much work goes into things. And I can't forget to say she worked with me as I am in a wheelchair. I was hoping I would not be difficult and she made me feel not a burden at all. And on that point the shop is very accessible from a disability standpoint. Maia captured every line and detail I've had in my head for a quarter of a century. The amazing thing about it all is she was able to do a better job free handing everything instead of using a stencil. Her steady hand was like a surgeon at her craft. This was hands down the best experience. I highly recommend anyone who is looking for a tattoo weather it be your first or 100th to check out Richard and Maia. They say you can't stop at just one tattoo. So If that's true and I end up wanting another one I will be going back.

The person on the phone was welcoming, patient, and informative (I had a few questions). Second, the venue is beautiful and very clean. Third, the customer service was impeccable. If you work in a place that provides services to people then you know sometimes unexpected things can cause delays. They were running late on my appointment. I was kept informed of the delay, they made sure I had what I needed, that I knew my options, and apologized to repeatedly. Fortunately, I was able to move another appointment so I could stay but if I could not They would have rescheduled me and made it right. Here is the thing... they don't run behind typically AND if I had a service that took longer than expected I would want to know they are willing to take some extra time so I could walk out happy. They more than made right the delay and it helped me feel I was in good hands. Lastly, the wax and steam service I recieved was fantastic. Very thorough and relaxing!!! It is far from my house but they've got a loyal customer in me.
