I had them come out to my house before with American Home Shield and they said they had to order apart and would be back once the part came in I found out after a week and a half that the part had been in for over a week but they did not call me back and set up a time to come out and install it. After reading the reviews on here, how is this man still contracted through AHS? I submitted a claim yesterday with my phone number as the contact. He called my husband, who told him to call me. He called my husband again and TOLD him he was coming out tomorrow. He was told a) we are unavailable tomorrow and to b) call me. He called me and TOLD me he was coming tomorrow. Again, he was told to come next week. He told me he was coming tomorrow and when I said no, he hung up on me and canceled my service call. Worst service ever, upstairs shower faucet broke. Home owners warranty sent out this plumbing service, pretty sure he was not a plumber, job order sent out 07-20-17, today 07-31-17, still unresolved, as he first said he had to order the part, as of today he is still doing research. He took my part with him, research is not his strong suit, he also never went to look at the actual shower. Today after 8 phone calls, three straight hours on the phone, being hung up on by a female who claims she works for the plumbing company, got a new plumber, different company, who can fix it in two days time, knows the part and has one. Final words, do not use this company, Rude, Unprofessional, I will file a complaint with the Texas Board of Plumbers, hopefully justice can be served. read more

I WILL NOT BE USING THIS COMPANY AGAIN. Home buyers warranty 2-10 sent this company to repair my hot water heater leak. Plumber arrived and was somewhat terse and stated it had to be replaced. Arrangements were made with warranty company and new hot water heater was scheduled for next day-FRIDAY. Installation- the plumber was not courteous at all, told me RUDELY they can't take questions and interruptions because they have to get the hot water heater installed. I had only advised about the water shut off valve to his assistant. I left the room. Not sure what I did but not long after that I overheard the plumber flat out say VERY LOUDLY to his assistant in my front yard that he wouldn't deal with interruptions or he would come back Monday. I walked outside and told him I would not interrupt him again- I stayed in another room the remainder of the installation. Once installation was complete and plumber had left, I found gray substance on my new vinyl flooring that smeared into the grooves when I tried to clean up, solder remnants behind the hot water heater, there are unknown black thick tar like marks on my brand new carpet I could not get out, along with a crooked vent pipe, and what looks to me like a leaning hot water heater. There could be a good explanation for the vertically challenged hot water heater however I wouldn't know what it is because plumber had clearly indicated that he did not want to speak to me and did not want me speaking to them. Plumber stated he would come back for the trash and old hot water heater when he got a chance and left it in front of my house. Plumber never discussed any of the installation details with me at all and I did not see the hot water heater in place until after the plumber left. How does one explain this hot water heater to a future buyer of this property???!!! I notified the warranty company however they said that the pics I sent of hot water heater are fine but that I could make a claim for the carpet and vinyl with the plumbing company. I'm not dealing with this company ever again and will have to hire a plumber to inspect the hot water heater installation. On a positive note- the trash and old hot water heater in front yard were gone by that evening. The hot water heater does heat the water so far. read more

We were forced to use this company through our home warranty. Guy came out for a second opinion and was so rude to me. I opened the door and first thing he said was "so where is it?" Showed him our tankless wter heater, and he said it was not a plumbing issue but rather an electrical issue because there is no electricity going to the water heater. An electrician comes out and shows me the power on/off switch to the water heater that was turned to off. Please tell me how a plumber doesn't see/know about an on/off switch that is literally right in front of your face when you open the panel. read more

Joke of a company. The only reason we used East Texas Plumbing Company is because our insurance company recommended them. Here's a list of issues we encountered while using this awful company. 1.First the plumbers truck broke down while he was on the way to our house, he had to cancel. 2.We were expecting them to arrive Monday, with our new toilet. Instead they called and said they didn't have the toilet, and needed pick one up. What happened to the toilet that was on the truck when it broke down? No idea... 3. Fast forward a week, the plumber shows up at 8:00am (without a phone call). He then proceeds to sit in his truck for 30 minutes. After finally coming inside we realize his company quoted on the wrong price on the deductible. My wife gets on the phone with out insurance company to straighten things out, they tell here to pay the $75 and they would bill us for the rest. When my wife tell's the plumber what the insurance agent said, the plumber declines and says he's not coming back because he lives 45 minutes away. He was being extremely rude to my wife, assuming she was alone. As soon as I interjected, he fled like a coward. read more

I was shocked to see all the negative reviews on here because I had a very pleasant experience. I called my home warranty due to my hot water heater was broken. I was contacted the next day by East Texas Plumbing and my hot water heater was replaced within 24 hours of the call. Very fast and got the job completed and I had a new hot water heater. No complaints from my service on 1-11-2017. I know people are more apt to write negative experiences and wanted to share my positive. read more

This was the absolute WORST service I have ever received!! A complete joke!! He was sent out by our home warranty company. When he got to our house, after a night of thunderstorms and heavy rain, he wouldn't walk through the water in our front yard to get to our front door.....(he's a plumber, he should be prepared to get a bit wet if needed). Then he refused to access our clean out valve because of the rain water accumulation in the ground around it. My husband began to dig out the water and dirt to allow him easier access while he sat I. His can and watched. But instead, he decided he didn't want to handle the service call and left. Please don't waste your time or money on this company. And if you have to deal with a home warranty company, request another vendor!! There is a reason these people have to rely on warranty companies to get business. Their reputation precedes them. This is the worse experience I've ever went through the owner of this company came to my home on a sink stoppage call also a broken pipe call. They were selected by my home warranty company. He came out very unprofessional he was rude from the time that he got out of his truck.I showed him where the broken pipe was he instantly started to make excuses not to fix the pipe. UPDATE!!! I am sad to say that I have to change my FIVE star review to a ONE star review. At the recommendation of Tim from East Texas Plumbing, I called the city. The city did come out and very graciously scoped the drain after I was very insistent they came look at it. What we found was horrendous. Not only did what Tim do just put a quick fix to the solution, but I also learned that he did not use the correct tool for the job once he identified that there were some roots in the line. He did the absolute bare minimum to get my money and leave. I had called to talk to them about this and he was supposed to come back out this morning after I asked about this. I just got a call from them saying they weren't coming back out because the home warranty cancelled the work order because they said they don't cover roots. I am extremely disappointed that a small mom and pop type company would not do the best they could to ensure that the job was done right the first time and then wouldn't come back and fix what they did wrong when asked and pointed out. I would not recommend East Texas Plumbing to anyone and would HIGHLY recommend that you find another plumber no matter how small the task is. It appears they make all of their money from the home warranty jobs and just want to get in and out as fast as they can. Original Post: We have a home warranty and were pointed to this company through that. I did my research after everything was scheduled and was shocked to see such negative reviews. I immediately called my home warranty company back to see if there was any way to switch to another company that I trusted. While I was on hold (5 to 10 minutes with my home warranty company), I got a call from East Texas Plumbing. They were going to be able to squeeze me in right away. Tim arrived about 10-15 minutes after I got a call that he was on his way. He asked some basic questions, then I showed him the cleanout drain. He asked if there was a plug that he could use for his bigger roto rooter thing. He got all hooked up and went to work. He explained how far he was with the snake and answered all of my questions. Once he was pretty sure he hit the spot about 50' out, he brought the snake back. He brought with it a lot of stuff. He did everything he was supposed to do and cleaned up. I had told my home warranty about the tub leaking too but he said it wasn't on the work order. He called to see if he could also do that but was told he needed to get to the next job since he had already squeezed me in and it wasn't authorized from the home warranty people. I also called his company and confirmed this. I then called my home warranty people and they confirmed that they did not authorize this because they alleged I didn't tell them. I have submitted another ticket through them and I'm waiting to get that fixed. I was a little irritated that Tim couldn't stay and look at the tub leak, but understood his position. I wanted to write this review though to let everyone know maybe there was a bad employee or something, but Tim was quick, knowledgeable, and got the job done. Thanks! read more

We had a water heater that worked fine for three months. Then one night it started boiling from the pressure relief valve. We turned our heater down to the lowest heat setting and made a claim for repair to our home owner company, Home Warranty of America. They sent out East Texas Plumbing, who only tested the water temperature and collected $75 for the visit. They never tested the pressure relief valve or the thermostat. When Owner Tim Cowley was called, he was exceedingly rude to my wife and then myself. He used, what I suspect are the only two big words he knows, thermal expansion to say everything was fine. When thermal expansion could not explain the concern...he just stuck to his two words and said look them up on the internet. Tim could not explain why the water heater started boiling out the pressure relief valve after three months of working as designed at a medium setting. When asked why the water heater could not be turned up past just above warm, he said how manufacturers decide to build hot water heaters is not his problem. East Texas Plumbing Company has a D+ Better Business Bureau rating and will not even provide you piece of mind. Save your money and use a different plumber! read more

WARNING, DON'T USE EAST TEXAS PLUMBING. HORRIBLE SERVICE AND HORRIBLE EMPLOYEE ATTITUDE. Our 2-10 Home Warranty sent East Texas Plumbing to replace our Water Heater and they are the Worst company ever I have dealt with. They installed it but did not hook up the electrical wire to it, he claimed he did not have the correct tool to strip the existing wire to connect the green ground wire. All he kept doing was yanking and pulling on the thick wire with his hand and he even cut the top plate in half, what a moron, now what you moron!!! Also a big rip off because in our claim we stated a small leak on pipe above heater and it was so supposed to be included and still charged me $250.00 separate rate for that which was included in claim and 2-10 said it was approved. Now have to go through the warranty process to get my money back. And still no hot water because of this moron that did not finish the job he was hired to do. He also cut the top plate in half and left wires exposed to it with nothing to cover the live wires once someone that knows what they're doing does it right. read more

After reading past reviews on this business, i cannot believe that what i experienced with them resonate so true! My home warranty assigned them to do a plumbing job on my house. This guy named tim showed up in a bad mood, not listening to my concerns, demanded cash only(that should have been my first tip), flooded my laundry room, did not listened to my other concerns since i had more that one problem, instead he began bashing my home warranty company saying that they usually do not cover more than one issue at a time(not true), made the wrong diagnosis on the problem, took my sixty bucks cash of course, and all of this happened in a matter of no more than half an hour. I still have a problem and im sixty dollars short but thanks to my home warranty company i will never see this dude again as he has been removed from their list of plumbers. Please do not do business with this people, all of the reviews you see here and on the better business bureau are true, run the other way! I would give this company negative stars but that's not an option. Our garbage disposal started leaking on Saturday and they had someone out on Wednesday to replace it. I wasn't happy about the wait time but I understood this wasn't an emergent leak and knew I would have to wait. My husband was present when the plumber came and replaced our disposal. He stated the plumber switched it out and tested it within 45 minutes, everything appeared to be working right. That night as I was washing dishes and using the disposal I noticed it was still leaking. I immediately called the company and left them a message, because they don't have an after hours line. No one called us back the next day and we were left chasing them for someone to fix their mistake - this is now Thursday. On Friday we finally got a call back from the company telling us the soonest they can get someone out to fix what they didn't do correctly from the beginning, is Wednesday. My husband called Monday morning (today) and is now being told we have no one scheduled to come fix their mistake at all. I'm done with this company and have been more than patient with their unprofessional behavior. Don't give this company your time or money...you will be ripped off. read more

Hoo boy! I don't know what this guy's problem is. he only answers his phone from about 8am to 5pm. After hours service is non-existent. I am working through a warranty company to get two issues fixed: toilet handle and under-house pipe leak. He showed up promptly and fixed the toilet. When I told him about the leaky pipe under the house, he looked out the window at the rain. He said he wouldn't be able to do that now because it was muddy. ok. fine. I said, let's try later in the week. Please call me when you can. I work 5 minutes down the street. No call back. From there, I called him at least three times. He would call me back and leave me a message. Finally, after three weeks of missing each other, I asked him to please just set an appointment time and let me know because playing phone tag wasn't working. After another two weeks, I didn't hear back, checked with the warranty company. They said the plumber called and closed the order! I had them re-open it. I tried calling him again today and got a hold of him! After he heard my name, he talked really loudly and said he wouldn't help me. I'd have to call back in and open another ticket(Another $75 fee). I told him no, he needed to fix the issue. He said no, and started arguing with me. So, I ended the call. After 2 months, I still have a leaky pipe. Go elsewhere if you can!! read more

It has been 9 days with my shower/tub out of commission since the water is gray! LIke I said day 9 and I've talked to the company 3 times, and they have not even been able to put me on the schedule, and not because they are too busy but they just like to dick you around and say we will call you back to schedule!!! Like not even 2 weeks out or anything, the secretary said she is unable to schedule services and that her boss would have to call and schedule. Blows my mind, who operates like this!!! My home warranty company initially called East Texas Plumbing Company on our behalf about three or four days ago. The story below is about the interactions between my wife and I and the office manager at the plumbing company. I received a call from the office manager of the plumbing company on Tuesday, and she told me she cannot schedule me yet because... well, I wasn't really clear on why. Anyway, she said she will call me back on Wednesday. I got a call from her on Wednesday, and she asked me if I was available Thursday morning. I said I was not -- that I was teaching. I asked her if Thursday afternoon was available instead. She told me she doesn't schedule afternoon appointments on the afternoon before, and that she would have to call be back on Thursday morning. I reiterated to her that I would not be available on Thursday morning, because that was when I was teaching. She responded by saying something like "let me work on this. When are you available this week?" I replied that I had time available Thursday afternoon 1-3pm and Friday after 11am. What I meant was that I COULD be available during one of those times IF she told me when (she may not have understood this). Anyway, she responded with something like "let get back to you when I make the schedule." My wife called East Texas Plumbers again Thursday morning, and spoke the same office manager. The office manager told my wife that she had already talked to me that very morning (Thursday morning) and that the office manager and I had agreed the plumber would come some time either on Thursday afternoon 1-3pm or on Friday after 11am. My wife told the office manager that it was impossible that the office manager had spoken with me Thursday morning, because I was teaching the whole morning, and besides, my discussion with the office manager had been only regarding POSSIBLE openings, and that nothing definitive was settled on. The office manager hung up on my wife. My wife called her back from a different phone and asked her, "why did you hang up on me?" The office manager responded, "because you were calling me a liar." My responded by saying "I don't think you're a liar but I think your scheduling system stinks." Tim Cowley is the owner of this company and is without question the most disagreeable person I have ever dealt with. If you cannot schedule an appointment when he wants to come do the work you can forget it. He was scheduled to do work for me through American Home Shield. He wanted to come to my house between 6:30 and 7:00 in the morning before daylight!!! I run a dog rescue and cannot schedule appointments first thing in the morning. He proceeded to tell me if I couldn't meet then, it would have to be the following week. He lied to me. He canceled my work order. When I contacted him in the middle of the next week, same story. He is going to come when he wants to no matter how far in advance you are willing to make a appt. RUN from this guy!!! American Home Shield needs to get rid of this contractor. As a new resident in Whitehouse, I searched for local service companies that I may need at some point. The reviews of East Texas Plumbing were alarming and I looked elsewhere. Sure enough, first thing Monday morning, the hot water heater stopped heating and since I have a home warranty policy the seller bought, I called them. It was no more than two minutes of hanging up with the home warranty company, I got a call from East Texas Plumbing. I was told that they had the work crews already assigned, but that she would try to work something out. She called back later and said the technician would be at our house by 11:30 AM. The gentleman showed up on time in a very nice company van. He was prepared with parts to fix the problem, which he did very efficiently. He was not real chatty nor rude, but rather very efficient and professional. The lady that helped me on the phone was very helpfull as well. I recognize that this was a simple operation, but given this experience, I will call them when I have another problem. read more
