Bert Powell is, as I had been told by everyone who I'd spoken to that knows him, a self serving…read moreperson without integrity or character. My experience with him occurred one week after I moved to Tyler. While I was back in Austin bringing another load of household items, he took it upon himself to have his handyman begin chopping two feet off of my backyard Stone Fence. I drove in and caught the man doing it and motioned for him to stop. He spoke no english, so I had to give him hand signals in order for him to understand. He left, but about two hours later, I heard the chopping again and had to go out and make him get off the fence again. Evidently Mr. Powell had ordered him to continue anyway.I went over to Powell Properties office around the corner to find out who had given the order to do that to my fence. After a few days, I spoke with Mr. Powell and he proceeded to ask for money from me to finish off capping the top part that they had left jagged and ugly. I thought about it a while and eventually decided that it was his responsibility to cap it off, since he had not even asked my permission to begin with. I called and told him I'd like him to cap it off and he said that I would have to chip in some money because he had already spent $200. chopping it down and told me that a "decent" property owner would understand that the cost should be split. I told him that a "decent" property owner wouldn't make the decision to chop someone else's fence up without prior agreement that there was a need and prior agreement to split the costs. It seems Mr. Powell doesn't care much about his neighbors and has gotten away with throwing his weight around a bit too easily and quite certain of getting his way. He really is a man without character and out for himself only. In the past year,I have referred two different workers to him, who did work for him and left unsatisfied with the money he was willing to pay them for their labors, as well as the way they were treated by this man. My advice is to rent or purchase with him with your legal advisor because it seems he is the only one who wins in his world.

I scheduled a tour and basically got my time wasted I was shown absolutely nothing the office…read moremanager or whoever she was and her employee said little to nothing to us. They asked us only one question which was "what's your budget" and gave us nothing no print off of the apartments' square footage or the fees of the unit. She was very unprofessional and uninterested in trying to help us. She didn't offer to show us what she had opened, and more or less gave off the impression that, since we weren't moving this month, our interest in looking at any unit was irrelevant. After this experience, I would hate to be one of their residents.

The pool was down for the majority of last summer. The clubhouse is subpar, with a pathetic computer room. The woman in the office to the right of the receptionist is a bitter hag. She's not old enough to be this bitter! If you want to get high off the devil's lettuce without having to buy any, you've come to the right place! There's so many on their patios smoking a big fat doobie that you'd better hope your job isn't drug testing! I'm glad I'm out of here. Deuces!

They have a big size pool (open year around!), playground, and even a tanning area. Closed gated community in a great location, with good schools and shopping close by. You can tell this management company takes pride in keeping their communities clean and beautiful. Great job!

The property manager Matthew is an exceptional person! He personally took care of having the boxes returned to the store and alleviated a huge headache for me as the store was not as cooperative in allowing me to change the address nor cancel the order. He cares so deeply about people and the property and is the most conscientious and helpful person. This is customer service that goes above and beyond!!!! My son loved living at this complex during his time in Tyler, because the complex was well taken care of, management was supportive and prompt in taking care of problems and the location is centrally located.

Our units were modified illegally with substandard wiring and plumbing that was not inspected by city inspector. behind the building the leaves, garbage, and old carpet were left there creating a roach problem and they were coming into two of the units. The fire alarms was disabled by management. There is only on poor light on parking making it unsafe at night. The office staff and manager are disorganized and the woman in the front office is unhelpful. In our opinion this company should be avoided at all costs.

BY FAR the nicest and quietest apartment I have ever lived! My apartment is a corner unit on the…read moresecond floor. It is very clean and the two bedrooms and baths are spacious and modern. The front office management ladies are VERY friendly and willing to help you. Being legally blind, the steps are a bit treacherous but I've learned to manage them. My pets are happy here too. My only suggestion is to remove the tennis court that is falling apart just a tad and put in a pet park or a joint park/grill area. The laundry facilities work great--I haven't had to re-wash or re-dry anything like I used to at other apartment complexes. Maintenance is prompt and friendly. We moved from Ohio to Texas and couldn't be happier with the amenities in the area we chose. Don't listen to ANY bad reviews of this complex on Yelp or elsewhere as people who write such reviews tend to have very specific negative issues that are usually problems only in their own little world. I don't think I could start to adjust to Texas if I chose a different apartment. I will definitely be renewing my lease--this place is so cozy and peaceful, just what my wife and I needed. A++
