Both of my children have gone here and we have loved each one of their teachers and are consistently impressed with the quality of early education provided here. The JCC has set my kids up so well for grade school and I am so, so thankful for them. We have made lifelong friends here and it truly feels like a second family. Highly recommend. read more

I had a great time at the Klezmer Fest Sunday January 13th from 12-5 pm. The cost was $15 for all day entertainment 3 bands and a trio playing music. It was a lovely day to be charmed outdoors. I enjoyed the fresh food, priced well at the kosher kiosk. I liked the Israeli salad and mushroom bureka. There were various classes offered I. The classrooms. Our 3 year old daughter (and other kids) were being hit by another student on multiple occasions and after multiple calls with the school. We started going to the J about 4.5 years ago right after my son was born. My 2 year old daughter attends now as well. The staff is excellent, they have some of the best student/teacher ratios, and I love their strong education focus. It's obvious they really care about the kids. Everyone on staff is great with communication. I'm never worried that I won't know what's going on with my kids. I've been really pleased with the COVID response that EVJCC has been doing as well. Not just the communication but also all the different steps being taken on a day to day basis.  It can't be easy doing it with kids who don't always get why things have to be different. I know they probably get grief from some families on the (extremely few) times they've had to close a classroom due to a positive case.  However,  I work in Healthcare and I'm seeing on a daily basis how bad things are with this pandemic.  I have to say thank you to their team for working so hard to keep everyone safe (even if it means quarantining kids). They're already the best people I could have caring for my kids during normal times. Shout out to them for being the best we could have during the pandemic as well. read more

We have been taking our 2 year old daughter here for preschool care since January. We searched for the right fit for months, and our little girl just wasn't happy. Well, we finally found our home at EVJCC. It really is a family here. Everyone from the front desk staff to the teachers are welcoming and friendly, and the education and care is exemplary. My daughter will be staying here until she begins Kindergarten, and we would highly recommend to anyone looking for a high level of care for their child. read more

Our experience at the J for 4 years has been amazing. This is professional childcare facility with experienced staff and leadership. Due to moving we won't be able to attend any more and my first visit to check out a highly recommended preschool was so disappointing. At the J the large classrooms are always clean and organized with a great environment to learn in. There is ample indoor space for when the summer hits vs an extra classroom that is re-purposed at other preschools. We will definitely miss having such a great spot for our child. read more

Our child has been attending the JCC infant program since he was 5 months old. The school's ratio of infant to teacher 4 to 1 which is below the state requirement of 5 to 1. The facility is clean and the teachers are friendly and communicate with me whenever something is going out with our baby. Also what I like about the school is they offer a lot of enrichment classes. Right now I am taking our son to the Music and Me class, which is $5 each time but it allows me to spend quality time with my son. The JCC is structured differently than other daycares, it is more of a school which I am very impressed by because they stress in teaching and good habits than a daycare where someone is just watching my son. Also each month the cost of care is based on how many hours I scheduled. If our family is planning to be away or have grandparents visiting, I am able to adjust my hours so that we can pay less than a full month's attendance. read more

If this is the place I think it is, then this is the place where I went to pre-school. I still remember Haddassah (she scared me with her gruff Israeli demeanor, but you knew she was the real deal), Lisa, Wendy, Alan (the director of the summer camp), Cindy, and probably some other teachers if I thought about it longer. OK, I admit it, Haddassah. I stole those dominoes that you asked me about. But they were awesome, they had pictures of Superman and Batman on them! So I went home with those dominoes and hid them under my shelf because I felt so much SHAME and GUILT. I never looked at those dominoes again. Now that's some good JEWISH education. read more

The facility is incredibly clean and safe. The staff are friendly and the police are even friendlier which helps with feeling safe. CAMP SHEMESH however is a nightmare. If you are ready to send your children to an unorganized and even dangerous envirnoment then pony up some heavy money and lack of support. My family places a high value on education, so I did a lot of research and toured various schools in the valley before deciding on a private school. I was comforted by the secure location and welcoming environment of the EVJDS. Emily, the school's director, is very responsive and has always welcomed parent feedback and involvement. She and the teachers work very closely to ensure that all instruction is catered to the individual student's learning style. Even though I was not specifically looking for a religious school, my children benefit from the history, culture, foreign language and traditions they're learning at the EVJDS. The staff and families at the school respect and welcome the diversity of others, so varying religious beliefs have never been an issue. It's amazing how different our school experiences are when discussing education with friends whose children are attending large public schools. The expense of private school can be intimidating; however, there are scholarship and tuition assistance organizations that can help. Regardless of cost, watching my children develop into bright, confident, ambitious individuals is priceless and knowing that they are in a warm loving environment with others who care about them as much as I do is a true gift. Our son has been attending East Valley Jewish Community Center for just over two years (since he was 6 months old) and my husband and I couldn't be happier! We picked the JCC primarily because they are accredited with the national accrediting body called NAEYC and are also a four star center with Quality First, both of which gave us assurances as to the quality of learning and care. We have stayed because not only has the JCC been such a rich learning environment but the teachers and leaders truly care about their work and the children. Our little guy loves going to 'school' here and has truly learned so much! Their staff to child ratios are also incredible - especially in the infant room where as a parent, you want low ratios. Every day I know he is in a safe environment. I highly recommend the JCC to any parent considering a child care setting. read more

I give JCC 100 if possible :). I am forever grateful for the benevolent staff and all that JCC has to offer. I am incredibly amazed every week. I have a 4 year old and a 5 month old, they seem to love JCC as well. The care JCC provides is like no other. Trust me, I know, I've had my 4 year old in Tutor time, Kindercare and tots unlimited and I have to say JCC blows all of them out of the water. Even if you are happy where you are I suggest just touring JCC when you get a chance. It's a beautiful private school. (Kindergarten through Sixth Grade that offers Preschool and Infant Care as well as great summer camp programs). We are not Jewish and have never been pressured into the Jewish religion yet we still feel like family. Our family loves the EVJCC! We couldn't have asked for a better school for our 4 year old and 2 year old. We feel lucky to have found a place where our children are cared for and educated by a team of genuine and passionate teachers. The entire staff looks out for the best interest of all the children at the J. They are in safe environment where they can have fun, learn, and just be kids letting their imaginations run wild! The classrooms are clean and filled with lots of wonderful activities and toys for our children to enjoy. We also love summer camp which is filled with fun, field trips, and great bonding with children who will be lifelong friends. The EVJCC is a family and we couldn't be happier being a part of it. Our family cannot say enough about how wonderful the JCC is! From the fantastic administration and leadership, to the dedicated teachers, and the amazing desk staff, the EVJCC felt like a home from the moment our daughter started attending at around 11 months of age. We stayed with the J from that time, all the way through Pre-K. We went from another daycare, where she was sick daily, to an environment where her health not only improved but became strong and her education thrived. The J has curriculums and our daughter learned to love music, science, books, and more. She developed, not only an appreciation for her education, but a yearning for it! When COVID hit, the J was a safe haven, a place where we did not have to worry about leaving our daughter. She was safe, happy, and always learning. I will never run out of good things to say about this organization! We will be sending out daughter back for fall, winter, spring, and summer camps - not only because it's like returning home, but because our 5 year old ASKS us when she can go back to the J! Great afterschool program. They pick-up from Conley Elementary. Rates are great!! Staff is excellent. Josh the main afterschool teacher is awesome! Same with front office staff. They are very secure unlike YMCA, Boys and Girls Club, or ICAN program. You need a pictured badge to get through two secured doors. Plus this place is more affordable as well. read more

Our son had been attending the EVJCC since he was two years old. He is now in kindergarten and adjusting extremely well to his new environment. Much of the transitional success is contributed to the JCC. We were so impressed three years ago with the structure, staff and flexibility in scheduling. On his first day, I never thought I would have been as emotional as I was on his last. There are not enough words to describe how fortunate my family and I were for acting upon a recommendation offered three years ago. Our son absolutely loved his classes (2 yrs., 3 yrs., PK and camp). The center is so much more than a "day care" or "child care center." It is a "community!" A place where the children feel loved, important and safe. The teachers and staff are always responsive, open and welcoming to all. Our son was always greeted warmly by the front office staff in the morning, by his smiling friends within the classroom, and his teachers with their warm hugs and sense of security. The programs and classroom structure was meaningful and fun. His cubby was always full of a new art project, peril bead creation, drawing or something uniquely special he couldn't wait to share when I picked him up. Our son developed a strong sense of confidence, an increased awareness of other's faith and the value of being a "good friend." Although it's only been a month since our son attended the JCC; he often asks when he can go back to his "old school." He loves his "new school," but there will never be an "old school" quite like the EVJCC. My family are I are eternally grateful to the staff, teachers, follow "campers" and lifelong friends we've meet! You ALL will FOREVER have a special place in our hearts! read more
