My college bound daughter and I were on a National Park tour. We lucked out to find this gem on…read more'air bed and breakfast'. The owners, are a 40 something couple, who have really put a great deal of effort into the aesthetic details of this place. The home is a 2 bed, 1.5 bath, aprox 1200sqft. Every room is remarkable, The kitchen was stocked with basics like coffee, tea, sugar, creamer and spices. The living room is large and comfortable. There is a large flat screen tv apointed with netflix and cable....lots of options. The master has a flat screen fireplace in addition to a tv. Master bath, has a large modern soaker tub, and a walk-in shower. I had the opportunity to chat with one of the owners, he expressed knowledge in guiding game hunts in the area. Additionally he solved my lack of fishing license problem by allowing me access to a couple of his private trout ponds to introduce my daughter to flyfishing. It may not seem like a big deal, but its experiences like this that create warm lasting memories, thanks a bunch! All in all a great experience, I would definitely return.

No need to spend loads on a nice place when I'll hardly be there! And that's exactly what Hidden Valley Cabins offers. I love it. The small town of Alton is located exactly 45 minutes from Zion to the west and Bryce Canyon to the north. The tiny cabins had everything my husband and I needed. Running water, plumbing, heat and comfy bed to pass out on after hours of hiking in the Utah heat. Everything else was a plus! Our tiny abode came with a good-sized mini fridge, microwave, coffee make (coffee provided!), toaster and plastic utensils. There was a tiny table with two fold our chairs as well. For 3 nights we paid a whopping $180.00! So much better than a Motel 6 or Super 8...on God. (*shivering at the thought of ever staying at one of those motels*). Bear in mind when I say this place is tiny, I mean TINY. No more than one person in the bathroom at a time. If you're travelling with someone you will bump into them more than once, and maybe knock your dinner off your table (oops...). The hosts are a very nice Mormon couple who do not live on site. However, their communication is on point. We had an issue with getting the heat to turn on. Within minutes of alerting them someone arrived to fix the issue. You can book your stay through Airbnb, which seems to be the only place Hidden Valley Cabins are listed.

Living near the beach has it's perks but one thing we don't experience at home is snow.  During our stay we experienced light snow flurries.  It was magical walking through the snow and watching the farm being snowed on.  It was like the scene at the start of Citizen Kane with the snow globe shaken up and snow landing everywhere.  I loved feeling the light pieces of snow landing on me. Very nice cabin.  I loved how well insulated it was.  I noticed the temperature went down to 11F at 6am.  Inside the cabin was toasty with the portable heater set on low. Kitchen had a mini-fridge/freezer which was able to hold 3 of my ice packs plus a quart of ice cream.  I might have gotten a half gallon of ice cream in but then none of my ice packs would fit.  There was a microwave, plates, and utensils. Lots of farm animals to check out.  We saw chickens in the chicken coop.  Goats in their pen.  A donkey.  Cows.  A few cats.  A very friendly dog owned by the staff. Found this gem whilst searching for places to stay in Utah along our roadtrip route. Usually they…read moredon't open until spring, however their open date just happen to overlap with my itinerary. Even though we stayed during the last week of March, the temperatures were in the teens at night and the 30's during the day. It lightly snowed which was so beautiful to see, while not really affecting the roads. The cabin had two space heaters, one for the bathroom and one for the remaining area. They have a total of seven cabins, a gift shop (with wonderfully handmade scented goat milk soaps, lotions and more) small restaurant, pool/spa (open only when warm), a farm with goats, cows, mules, chickens (one duck), miniature ponies and one cat. I just don't know where to begin as it's obvious every detail has been well thought out and executed. The gift shop is just full of lovely handmade items. The goat milk is sourced from yes you guessed it, the goats on the farm. The breakfast that is included with your stay each morning is made with eggs from the cute chickens on the farm. Plenty of extra blankets and pillows are provided. The bed has a nice extra pillow top, making it super comfortable. A mini kitchen comes with; a small refrigerator/freezer, coffee maker, dishes, glasses, microwave and plenty of towels/washcloths. The shower (in the garden cabin) is huge and wheelchair accessible for those who need it. Towels, soap and shampoo is provided. There is a small table inside as well as outside by the front door patio. I really appreciated the thoughtful binder (found inside the cabin) containing loads of information about the surrounding area. As it gave me many ideas of how to plan my day. They are located near the east entrance to Zion National Park and close to Best Friends Animal Sanctuary. You can walk around the grounds and say hello to the farm animals. I chatted with the chickens, goats and the friendly cat. The chicken coop is huge with an automatic door (so they can go in/out) that closes at dusk. Keeping them safe from pesky predators. The goat barn is cozy with heaters. They were a bit reluctant to come out, that is until they thought I had food! The birds visit the grass area in front of the cabin, hopping around and pausing now and then to gaze back in my direction. I'd love to see this place in full spring bloom. With all of the trees and plants blooming. This place feels like home. Definitely will plan to visit on my next trip this way.

The room is super nice, which we had a patio view overlooking the golf course, which I didn't even know they had one. Also super cheap to get a round of 18 holes in if you happen to spontaneously hit a few. I also loved the wooden furniture to give it that rustic vibe, which I guess goes well with the national park theme. The room itself was very spacious. They had a 24 hour pool and a hot tub, which we definitely took advantage of after a tiring hike through some of the national parks. There's a gift shop as well as the Thunderbird Restaurant, which I recommended getting food there. The staff that checked us in was super friendly and helpful. He was also very knowledgeable on Zion as we were trying to figure out parking and how early we needed to get there, along with renting hiking equipment, and other advices on making our Zion trip less chaotic.

It's got everything you need to rest your sore body after a long day at Bryce and hop in a pool before you continue on to Zion only 45 minutes away. There is a restaurant (see my other review for deets), pool/hot tub, gas station and golf course right on the property for you take advantage of for all you need to recuperate! The king size bed was so comfortable and the showers had great pressure and super warm. The room was very spacious and the AC was quiet but really pumped out cool air! Loved that we could access from the front our the back patio that faced the pool so we didn't have to go all the way around the complex. Only bummer is it's really close to the highway and sometimes you'd hear the occasion noise of cars but other than that it was a perfect stay.

So my son has been itching to ride ATVs for the longest time. Due to his not having a license or…read morecosts, we just were not able to pull it off. He got to do it finally at scout camp, and has been wanting to go again now that he is of age and has a license. While here on vacation, American ATV Rentals fit our needs and the almost full day trip was quite the experience. Owners David and Tina were most professional and helpful with every step of our excursion. We had a lot of choices to make. First was what kind of vehicles were we going to use. They had the ATVs, 2 and 4-seaters, and some were meant for those over 200lbs which we all needed (slight extra charge for that). We also had to decide what length of "tour" we wanted. We had three drivers and four people, so we went with a two-seater and two ATVs all with the upgraded suspension for the weight. We then chose the 4 hour tour which for most should be the right amount of time for the 44 or so mile loop or back and forth from just about the midpoint. The course was explained and different points of interest and also points of reference to not get lost. I'm glad my wife was our guide on this trip! Next was the safety equipment. We were all provided with helmets and goggles all of which fit well and snug over glasses without any problems. They also provide gloves. All must be worn 100% of the time you're riding or else. They also will provide backpacks and bungee cords. They sell water if needed. We then went outside and got acquainted with our vehicles. How to start them, put in gear, brakes, and rules of the road. We were then on our way! David brought us to a point, gave a more detailed explanation of the course and what to look for. Only at the time we left did our "4-hour tour" time start. We were expected at the end to top off all gas tanks (high grade fuel only) and come back to the business. The trip along so many different views and geological points was awesome. And then almost right at the start I rolled my machine on the side. The gas tank cover came off and I was spilling fuel. Thankfully I wasn't seriously hurt and got up quickly to put it back on four wheels. It drove just fine and I didn't have a flat. I just had some brush burn and a small cut on my elbow. The other negative was just past the 3/4 mark. My son's ATV just stopped and would not move in gear. It revved up but would not engage in gear forward or backward. We ended up pulling out the tow strap on the two-seater and towed it in neutral the final few miles. I had to apologize to my kid for all the dust. You are allowed to stop anywhere for pictures and if you want a souvenir you can take it as you're not in the State park. We did not see any others on our whole route...just some cows. We finally made it to the gas station almost next door to the ATV business, topped off the tanks, and made it back. I was pleased as punch that the ATV I rolled made it back. My wife and I changed at the midpoint so I drove and eventually towed the broken ATV in the two seater, and my wife drove the rolled ATV. Once back (about 25 minutes late due to the issues) I explained our problems on the trip and David was understanding. I did have to pay a 20% depreciation cost for the damage I caused to the ATV. We weren't charged for the issue with the other ATV. This was within the contract we signed and waivers. It was less than I expected, and we just made it work. Overall, my whole family had a great time driving even with the issues we experienced. Some pointers I highly recommend: wear long sleeves, pants, and boots (not sneakers). You will get very dusty. Bring a lot of water and maybe snacks or sandwiches. Remember, however, time stopped does not extend your tour time. The sun beats down and you will get sunburned. There's very little shaded areas. We were told when we asked that the routes we took were classified as mostly beginner to some intermediate level driving. 25mph maximum based on Utah laws, but you're not doing that on these trails. My family and I highly recommend American ATV Rentals for a fun time. It's not cheap, but it was worth the experience! $1000 for the two ATVs and two seater for a four hour tour, safety review, map review, and you have to gas them up before returning them with premium fuel. I also paid a bonus $175 for the 20% of depreciation costs of the damaged parts. Oh well. The shower once we got home and two Tylenol was awesome.
