surprisingly great, short stay! the service at the check in with Ladd was a sweet start since he was hospitable, friendly, and funny. my boyfriend and i got a little lost originally because we had to check in at the quail lodge down the street from the location of the actual studio hotel. but, minutes after checking in, Ladd scheduled a quaint breakfast for us this saturday morning, which i thought was a very unique touch to our stay. they drop off a cute little breakfast for you! the room was cute and for the most part clean.. however, we did find and old cereal box and pasta in the cupboard of the kitchen next to a dried up yam... that was a little daunting to see, which made us avoid using any of the kitchen amenities aside from the microwave and fridge. the dust on the blinds were not wiped when we got there either and my boyfriend had some issue with that when we were getting ready for bed because he could not stop sneezing after closing the blinds. wound up wiping them ourselves to an extent. found a couple beetles/bugs on the bed, but nothing to freak us out to an extreme since we are near wildlife and the national park. however!! despite those small cons, the service overall was super friendly! the room was quaint, but comfortable for our weekend getaway. honestly worth it for the price point. this was only an hour away from zion national park which was our primary destination. i liked the overall setup of everything. we would definitely consider staying here again based on hospitality and modern amenities! great price for substantial quality! only critique really fell on overall cleanliness.

MICE! It's midnight and my husband and I can't sleep. Probably not the ideal time to write this review, but I'm not very happy right now. Before 9pm tonight we would've given this place 4-5 stars, but since our dog discovered a mouse scurrying along the baseboards towards the kitchen, we've been on alert. We tried to contact the front desk (possibly change rooms, or ask for options on this?), turns out they're closed. No phone in rooms. Thank goodness for our cellphones! Called the number on the website, but got the run around by the robotic answering service. Called the restaurant (since they were open), and they said, "we have no capability to help, sorry." REALLY?! What if there really was something worse, and it's truly an emergency? Who do we call?! Finally dozed off and the bastard came back a few mins ago and went through our empty box on the floor that had chocolates in it earlier. Started making squeaking sounds. We also doubt if there's only one. Ugh. Great...perhaps we'll move elsewhere for our last night tomorrow.

If you're ever looking to come out to Zion National Park, I would strongly recommend this place. Very impressed with this place.

Simple amenities--nothing fancy, but it was perfect for a place to crash after a day of adventuring.

Best Friends Roadhouse - The dog bed was a nice touch my dogs weren't a fan of the dog beds, probably too many smells.

This review is based on my two-night stay from 10/17/25 - 10/19/25…read more I had heard great things about this place so was really looking forward to checking it out. I was also hoping to "rent" a pet from the Animal Sanctuary for the duration of our visit, but alas, checked in too late for that. I'd advise anyone who wants to "rent" a pet to call in advance to understand the process and time cut-off. I loved the room. It was super cute and well-appointed for guests with pets. There were two bowls waiting near the front door, and two adorable sleeping areas - one in a cut-out in the wall, and another a pull-out trundle-style bed. The mercantile/ store was stocked with cute apparel for pet-lovers as well as items for pets. Breakfast was also served in the store in the morning - with lots of interesting and yummy options - like vegan egg bites and chia seed pudding. 10/10 recommend this place!!

The Best Place For Travelers With Or Without Pets…read more.... For our final 5 nights across the Southwest US, we stayed at the Best Friends Roadhouse. The BF Animal Sanctuary was on our schedule (at least 2 of the 4 days) and both reviews and their website looked great. Pros: - Location: Convenient, especially is you're visiting the Sanctuary. On the main road in the north part of Kanab. - Exterior: A newish looking hotel with nice views to the north and west. - Room: Excellent. Our king suite was spacious. One VERY large room included a big bedroom, a good sized kitchen and a spacious bathroom/shower/vanity. It also had plenty of space for storage and large closets. All done with contemporary Scandinavian furniture which minimizes clutter and convenient controls for lighting, ventilation and automatic shades. - Employees: Helpful. People at the reception desk and in the breakfast area/"Mercantile Shop" were all very friendly. - Breakfast: Vegan and very good. Included with the room. While it wasn't a buffet, you could order as much as you'd like. Much of it was homemade and I especially liked the "Overnight Oats". Unusual Pros: - Cats and dogs are encouraged to stay with accommodations in the room and across the property - "Barn Door" to create privacy between the bedroom and bathroom - Free laundry - Free iPad to use while in the room - Nicely equipped kitchen - Plentiful towels - Choice of full daily housekeeping, partial or none - Attractive high desert landscaping - If you'd like merchandise from Best Friends, the Mercantile Shop had everything Cons: - Bath towels for our first day were luxurious. The next 4 days were like a Holiday Inn. - Toilet paper was 1...maybe 2 ply and quite scratchy - Tissues were a bit rough - Parking was tight, especially on weekends and after 7 PM There are many places to stay in Kanab since it's a busy stop for Zion and Bryce Canyon National Parks, but the Roadhouse would be our only choice.

We drove 4 hours from Las Vegas and booked through Super.com. I'm a Choice Hotels member and was hesitant about Choice properties to begin with -- I usually stick to IHG, Hilton or Marriott -- but a great experience at the Comfort Suites Moab a year ago gave me confidence. The 4.5 stars on Yelp sealed the deal. Big mistake. The phone call before arrival -- called to notify them of a late arrival and the front desk lady answered with a flat "Hello," never pulled up my reservation, couldn't add my Choice Rewards number since I booked third party which is fine, but when I was done with my questions she said "bye" and hung up cold. I work in hospitality. That's not okay. Check in -- the overnight guy in a fedora was genuinely great. Friendly, fast, no complaints. Wish the rest of the staff had his energy at check in. The room -- rock hard queen beds, square couch-style pillows with zero support swimming inside oversized pillowcases, and a pull out sofa mattress with serious visible wear. All four of us on the queen beds woke up with back and neck aches and had to make a grocery run for pain meds before we could function. Breakfast -- both mornings were identical. Cold eggs, rubbery sausage patties, broken juice machine on day two. The make your own waffle station was the only thing worth touching. This is what your $5/night resort fee gets you. The afternoon front desk lady -- sat behind the desk on her personal phone both times we walked through without a single acknowledgment. Asked to switch rooms due to the beds -- flat "No," sold out, zero apology. Later came back from a bike ride with a potentially broken arm and asked where the nearest hospital was -- she pointed without looking up and went back to her phone. My friends had to connect to the hotel WiFi just to pull up directions since T-Mobile is spotty in Kanab. Ended up with a broken forearm and wrist. Now in a cast and sling. I don't expect a front desk employee to be a first responder but basic human decency isn't too much to ask. The A/C -- stopped working at 2am. Called the front desk and the overnight guy answered in silence with his phone playing in the background. After I said hello he responded with attitude. Told him the A/C was out in room 105 and he literally asked me "what should I do?" Requested a room switch, he said sold out and hung up. Five guys trying to sleep in a heatwave with no air conditioning. Pool area -- advertised as open year round and heated. Pool was covered. Spa was open but the gate to the entire area had no lock -- anyone could walk right in. Real safety concern for families with kids. At $146.24 for two nights the price seemed reasonable on paper. In reality this was one of the worst hotel experiences I've had. The area is 5 stars -- this property is not. Stay elsewhere.
