(Unfortunately it took 10 yrs for me to me meet them; during that time I begged numerous contractors to take the project or at least give me a quote. Jim and Schumack are truly a rare breed. It was a joy to watch them love a challenge for about 8 wks during last Aug-Nov. The whole team was exceptional; really committed to fixing my complicated mess. Really smart and good natured about my unusual ideas and very particular style-after all, I had ten years to plan and learn about what i (and then we) was/were taking on. No mansplaining from these guys!! It truly felt like they were my partners. They "owned" (in the best possible way) the project, right along with me. i never felt like what was a huge project for me was just a minor project for them (though it certainly was). Three excavators (1 huge, 1 medium, 1 "small?") from 7-3:30 everyday removing 480 tons of material (so my property is all over CT now)-it was an insanely noisy experience. But I miss them all. You will love them, too.

Interior design charge/work was unneeded at the end of the day. I don't need to be escorted to select tiles and lamps. They have much bigger gigs and didn't need our business for smaller rooms. Before we knew about the roof issue, we tried to engage them in further work but they said they were too busy. I suspected it was because I tried to negotiate what needed to be done because I had learned from the first experience that we didn't need all of the bells and whistles. No service is requested in this post. I think they have rebranded under a different name since we used their business.

Nate gave a detailed written quote and timeline from the start, which was reasonable and correct. The contractors showed up on time, cleaned up well each day, and were easy to have in our home. We have 3 small children, I felt that they were safe, respectful and considerate. They stand behind their work. The wood work details and tile work were excellent. Attention to detail, very fine work. I would highly recommend Cacique and will use them again in the future.
