Today I had the pleasure of having Witkowski & Sons Tree Service come to my home to clear away several trees that were damaged during a recent storm. Quite honestly, I am speechless. I have used several tree services over the years, and while I have had good experiences with all of them, none have been as efficient, professional, and impressive as Witkowski & Sons. The crew today consisted of Joe, the leader, along with Abel and Willy. From the moment they arrived, they were friendly, professional, courteous, and extremely careful--especially around my septic fields, which was very important to me. I watched them from my window, and I couldn't get over how hard they worked--and yet they made it look almost effortless. They worked as a team, knew exactly what they were doing, and took great care with my property. When they were finished, everything was cleaned up beautifully. My only advice to anyone considering Witkowski & Sons is this: If you have to wait for them, they are absolutely worth the wait. I will definitely be calling them again in the future. In fact, I already want them back to do some light pruning of several rare ornamental trees in the front of my property. I trust them completely with my trees and my property. And a special word about Joe: he is stellar. His work ethic, professionalism, politeness, and genuinely friendly manner make him a tremendous asset to the company. I had them out to take a look at three Spruce that are not looking well. John suggested that I find someone to do some deep-root fertilizing and for him to come back and cut out some dead wood, and do some trimming and pruning. I agreed verbally to a price. He told me Tiffanie would reach back out to schedule. In the meantime, I arranged for the deep-root fertilizing. After more than a week passed and I had not heard back from Tiffanie, I reached out. My message went completely unanswered. So, I was ghosted by this company. I don't waste other people's time, and I take exception when other's waste mine. It's a total lack of professionalism and common courtesy. Moreover, it's a hell of a way [not] to run a business! I see from reading through other reviews on here that I'm not the first and only customer to complain of this specific issue with this company. Beware! They will steal YOUR time! Update 6/7/26: They just proved my point by responding to this review 10 months after it was posted. It would seem that timeliness escapes these folks at every turn. Too bad their recall of the facts faded so much with the passage of time! I left my original review after a week elapsed between my reaching out via phone and text to both Tiffanie and John. The following morning at the start of business, Tiffanie began psycho-calling and texting me, leaving hysterical voice messages and sending repeated texts. Amazing experience starting with the estimate by John, communication with Tiffanie and then the crew led by Josh. Three man crew showed up exactly on time, very personable, took down a diseased part of a 65 foot copper beech climbing with ropes and cleaned up nicer than when they came. I don't leave reviews normally but this experience was out of the norm. read more

I got a call pretty quickly after putting in a quote for 5-6 trees to be removed and even got a discount (likely because it was winter). J. Witkowsky & Sons was the lowest quote of the 3 local companies I compared. There were 3 guys who came to do the work and they knew what they were doing. They made sure to remove all my lawn lights before driving in and asked to make sure they wouldn't be working over my well or septic tank. I watched them strategically cut the trees all day and was really impressed by how they did it! They picked up the logs a day or two after and later finished grinding the stumps once they got the machine fixed. I will say that they left all the wood chips on my yard after stump grinding, but maybe that service wasn't included. I would not recommend this company. They do not know how to drive and speed through residential areas. They have no care for the rules of the road evwn with huge trucks. You would think they would be extra careful with big heavy loads. read more

Bought a cord of firewood in Oct 2021. Since I'm now using the wood, many pieces, about half the cord, are huge and really needed to be split once or twice more. They are difficult to manage when loading in to my insert. Also, original estimate was 250 and later increased by 50 when they found out I was 28 miles away. And much of the wood was dark and dirty. Very professional at a very reasonable price. They showed up on time, worked quickly and efficiently removing 5 very large trees, two of them dead and all of them along the street and power lines. They directed traffic, cut the stumps low, did no damage to the surrounding plants and were done in 4 hours, along with a very thorough clean up. Total disgrace. My neighbors hired J. Witkowsky and Son to remove a tree and they needed access to the tree through my driveway and backyard. Being neighborly, I agreed. I was told John Witkowsky Sr. provided the initial quote but when they called to schedule the tree removal this past spring, the company sent John Jr. He came to my property to discuss details of the job and my neighbors were both present. John Witkowsky Jr. told me, "I've been doing this a long time and my guys will leave your yard exactly how they found it" and he went on to say that he had "special tools and equipment" to correct and pull up any sunken in pavers on my patio. He also said that "SOME" of the pavers in my driveway "MIGHT sink in a LITTLE." To which I replied, that is fine, figuring he said he would leave it exactly as he found it and he had tools to correct this. I learned a great lesson the hard way. Get a certificate of insurance before allowing anyone on your property. And have they put everything in writing. Needless to say, they did the job and collected $3,500.00 from my neighbor. And they left my yard a mess and my driveway and pavers damaged. I had just power washed my entire patio and driveway 3 weeks prior to this, so I knew very well the condition my yard was in before they drove the bucket truck on it. My driveway is definitely older and it did have a few existing cracks, however, it was in NO WAY crumbling and falling apart, as it is now. When I went into my yard the day after the tree removal my entire driveway was covered in a layer of tiny crumbled asphalt. There was literally a layer of tiny, crumbled black asphalt stones completely covering every surface of the yard. It was everywhere. Again, I had JUST power washed a few weeks prior to this and my driveway was completely smooth. I remember John Jr. joking the day they did the tree removal that he would have to "make a 16 point turn" to get the bucket truck out of my driveway. So it makes sense then that the tires of the bucket truck going back & forth over the asphalt again and again was just too much for my driveway to handle. They did put a few rubber mats over the pavers on my patio, but this offered no protection. I still have areas where the stones are all sunken in from the extreme weight of the truck and now water pools up in these spots when it rains. They did nothing to protect the asphalt in my driveway. I am told that sheets of plywood laid down would have prevented the damage they caused. All of the pavers along my driveway are totally embedded into the ground. This was a far cry from being "a little sunken in" as he stated "might" occur. I reached out to the company the following day to report the damage and I was told by Josh that it would be taken care of and he gave me John Jar's number. I called John Jr and he too told me, "I will send my guys over to take care of it." I have to say, Josh was extremely polite and apologetic whenever I spoke with or texted him. He said, "I am so sorry and if my brother doesn't make this right for you, then my dad and I will." Several weeks passed and nobody ever came back to see, or repair the damage. I reached out to them once again and this time I got a totally different reply, "Not my problem" and "Don't bother me." Absolutely disgusting to take full advantage of people for the sake of making a fast buck! I spoke with John Sr. who shifted blame to his son by saying it was his "son's company" and not his that did the work. They all need to seriously man up and be honest with people from the start. If John Jr. had given me any indication there might be damage to my driveway I NEVER would have allowed them to do the job. THAT is exactly why he DIDN'T mention it. He would have lost the job. The only way to access the tree was through my yard. I am posting the photos of my driveway BEFORE and AFTER because they speak for themseves. Both companies were unprofessionally and untrustworthy. Hired j Witkowski to remove two trees and trim. One red oak was threatening the house and over 100 feet tall. They did a great job - had to use a crane for it - yard left unscathed and aside from the trees gone you'd never know they were here. Definitely would recommend them to anyone read more

Friendly and efficient team of 5-6 guys took down 5 trees (4 of which were quite large), cut up and took away all the logs, and even raked and blew the leaves out of the front yard to leave things spotless, all in one day.
