Easterbrook painting is worth every cent! They are experts who turned a poor neglected house into a beautiful brilliant home. Jim's crews were reliable, on time, very polite and hard working! They arrived in the mornings and quickly got to work to perform their magic . Thank You!

The ceiling, stairway railing and walls were pretty beat up. Everything went well from estimating, scheduling, to the actual painting. We worked with Mike Crandall for estimating the job and the initial estimate. We worked with Erin and Lauren in the office and they were very responsive and helpful. Sean did all the paint work. I would highly recommend their services.

Although most of the paint job is holding up, I can't recommend the company because it appears they did little to no prep work on a house that definitely needed prep work in only a few places. Furthermore, once the job failed within the first year, I asked them to fix it and learned that they offer NO warranty on their workmanship so they were unwilling to do anything for me. In particular my front porch, which is sheltered from the sun, had a solid red stain on it that still had some of its original glossy finish. They did nothing to prep the surface (a quick wipe with some liquid sandpaper would have done a lot at very little effort) and instead just sprayed it with a topcoat of standard house paint where an oil-based primer followed by floor enamel (since much of the surface is flooring) would have been the better way to do it. It only took one good Truckee winter with water penetrating underneath for the paint to shrink and lift from the surface and expose bare wood underneath. It ended up far more ugly and unprotected than when it started. Since they did nothing to help remedy the job when I asked them, I had to fix the job my own expense and at great effort to make sure it was done right. I expected more from professionals who had experience dealing with the harsh climate.

Larry and his company recently painted the interior of my place in Tahoe Donner. I am thrilled…read morewith the results! The whole experience with Larry was excellent from the start. As usual, I asked for bids from three companies. Larry was by far the easiest to work with on details and color consultation. He had great advice on accent wall location and color. His crew had good attention to detail, stayed on schedule and labeled all the extra paint very well. All this at the most competitive bid with no surprises or changes to the bid. Thank you Larry!

Our family has counted on Sierra Rainbow for almost 40 years to protect our home in Alpine Meadows…read morefrom the ravages of sun, rain, snow, and cold. Larry and his crew have cheerfully embraced a family dynasty of nitpicking perfectionists and they ALWAYS do it right the first time and every time. Larry is an encyclopedia of paint chemicals, proper preparation, and application. He should have his own TV show: The Paint Guy. But he doesn't just say how it should be done, he does it. Two years ago, Sierra Rainbow stained our 1969 built house for the (sixth) time in October 2015 and it literally just glowed and even today, still glows. Literally, you stop at the road and everyone goes "whoah!!!" Sierra Rainbow stains our decks every two years and that is the only reason we still have the original deck. They just completed the latest staining in September 2016 and the deck looks fantastic. Sierra Rainbow has also refinished the interior of our house five times. I would emphatically recommend Sierra Rainbow as the one and only source for your Tahoe painting needs.

Paid $40,300. Work not completed. Licensed contractor was in Hawaii…read more I want to be factual and specific so this is useful to other homeowners. The license: Contracts are signed by Kipp Cooley, License #564864. He is the licensed contractor of record. He lives in Hawaii and operates a separate painting business there. He was not present at our home at any point during the project, and we did not speak with him until we reached out ourselves -- two months into the job. Who ran the job: A man named Colton Morgan handled all communication, signed our contracts, and directed all payments to his personal Venmo, Zelle, and wire transfer accounts. Colton Morgan is not a licensed contractor. He does not hold a CSLB license of his own, and he does not receive a W-2 from High Sierra Painting -- he is not an employee of the licensed business in any legal sense. Despite this, he operated as though he were the contractor throughout the entire project. The subcontractors: The actual painting work was performed by subcontractors we were never informed about and never consented to. Those subcontractors did not hold a California contractor's license and had no workers' compensation insurance -- the same situation as High Sierra Painting itself, which carries a workers' comp exemption by declaring zero employees to the state. When we confronted Colton about this, he told us they worked for him. California state records confirm that is not possible. What we paid: $40,300 of a $53,475 contract -- paid through personal Venmo, Zelle, and wire transfer. Not one payment went to a business account in the name of High Sierra Painting. What wasn't done: Exterior painting on all four sides of our home was less than half complete. Inside: no caulking on any window trim, door trim, or baseboards. Wrong-color nail hole filler on all alder trim -- white filler visible throughout. Staircase uncaulked. Wrong paint product applied to Trex composite deck caps -- actively peeling. The deadline: We received a written text commitment that everything would be done by June 12. When we spoke with the actual licensed contractor in July, he told us it is "nearly impossible to set a completion date" on a project like ours. Those two statements cannot both be true. Where we are now: Formal CSLB complaint filed. Exterior contract terminated after discovering the undisclosed subcontracting. I am not posting this out of frustration. I am posting this because the structure of how this business operates -- an unlicensed individual signing contracts and collecting payments, a licensed contractor living in another state, undisclosed subcontractors with no license or insurance -- is something every homeowner in Truckee deserves to know before signing
