    Eastern Bank is a disaster. This not the first time I have dealt with their inaccurate transactions…read moreand their poor customer service. I would advise everyone to check their statements every week, as Eastern Bank works to slide in illegal hidden fees. Most recently, I was checking my account, where I saw a $10. Debit charge to my account for insufficient funds. I was a bit perplexed, as I have ALWAYS had enough money to cover my mortgages every month, with always a little extra left into the account. I went down to the bank on 6/7/26 and reported this inaccurate finding. No one in the bank could tell me why they had debited the money, but filed a report and said that someone would get back to me first thing Monday morning. Of course no one did get back to me,and I was unable to get through their AI animated system. So, once again, I had to take time out of my schedule to go into the office.(3 days later) I met with a manger, who also could not figure it out and then she met with another manager who also didn't know what was going on. Then some mystery person from one of the branches said that the $10. 00 was for a late payment in 2024. Totally not true, as I have NEVER had a late payment in my life relative to my mortgage. They were still going to investigate, holding on to that $10.00, that the bank had illegally debited from my account. Then, word came they were going to give me back the one time courtesy of a reversal and put the $10.00 back into my account. I have demanded an explanation of the 2024 false claim with documentation. It is not the $10. 00 that is important, but the fact that these big banks and corporations can debit your account and get away with it. Just think how much money they are making doing this to their customers. I have had several issues with Eastern Bank relative to poor customer service. No one gets back to you when you submit a complaint......they only send their survey with no personal contact. Everyone check your statements, as it looks like AI is going through accounts and debited money illegally.

    The worst branch, I want to tell all the customers to be very careful when you make a cash deposit…read morewith the tellers in this branch 320 Central St, Saugus, MA, 01906. I had the worst experience, I had made a deposit in cash, the teller counts the money on the machine a couple of times, and he told me I was short of money, I told him to give me my money back, I counted it, and I was missing money. I have asked the Assistant Manager to balance the teller's money and she just checked his computer she did not count his money to make sure he balanced. I have requested the video when the teller was counting my money to the assistant manager, branch manager, reginal and district manager, I was told they cannot show me the video. I am very frustrated; I trusted this branch with my money and in front of my face my money disappears and now the bank does not want to help me by showing me the video. Also, in the past I had made a cash deposit and the teller told me I was missing money, I told the teller to give me my cash back and I counted it, and I found the missing money. It seems that tellers are used to telling customers they are missing money, when making cash deposits. This branch cannot be trusted.

    I have to say, how thankful and personable it was to me when the manager of the bank takes time out…read moreof her day to call with advice on protecting and ensuring the future of my account. Advice that she didn't have to take the time to give, but it meant a lot because it shows that she values me as a customer... it's the little things that people do that are huge, helpful and very appreciated by others..... I have to say this is the third time Rosemary has helped me and whether it was question or an issue, it was her mannerism and professionalism I encountered every time and was taken by... I have to say the customer service in this branch is simply exceptional.... I have always dealt with Felisha and MaryEllen who are so caring and always go above and beyond for me and will spend as much time needed to resolve any issues even if it meant staying late. They are truly genuine and I adore both of them. It's not often you find a small local branch where everyone including tellers, customer service , managers etc.....know and value you... They all call me by my first name and greet me upon entrance and I now know why the bank is so well run and so professionally managed....... and that is because they take after their manager Rosemary.......
