She is always on time with her appointments, her manner is most welcoming and calming, and her treatment rooms are clean and neat. I went to Dr. Hu over six months ago because I could not get relief for the pain and numbness in my leg that was caused by slipping on black ice in February of 2015. I tried chiropractic treatments, but the numbness remained. Before I resorted to the opioids and nerve blocks of traditional medicine, my sister (a functional medicine specialist) suggested that, if I tried acupuncture, my numbness might go away.  I did; it did. It was like a miracle. I am able to walk again without discomfort. Dr. Hu's skill in using the appropriate treatment regimen has been so satisfying that I intend to continue working with her to take advantage of her skill in using acupuncture to promote overall well-being.  While I still don't know how those needles work, I do get the point--pain relief, renewed energy, and overall well-being.

I was not worried until I had a big bruise on my face for about 9 days! Everywhere I went people asked me about it. Freaked me out. Also bad: Office is unable to provide easy way to submit to Flexible spending accounts (FSAs). Patients OOP is separate from the superbills, and they email the Superbills separately, creating a huge job for patient. I had seven visit and had to make 3 calls and deal with 14 different emails in order to submit. I gave up. Seems like a healthcare company could do better given the expansive use of FSA/HSA reimbursement. Also bad: When looking at the superbill it said I was there for the treatment of pain. I did not seek accupuncture for pain. I did not have much pain, I suspect they did this to garner insurance coverage. Pain was only a very small part (or no part) of the reason I sought care. And while I was happy they got the treatments covered, it made me uneasy Also bad: A provider called me to speak to me about the hematomia after I reported it (oddly not the provider who gave it to me) When I called back, they never returned my call.
