I honestly really like Eastern Dental. They have treated me very well, and have done a fantastic job on my teeth/mouth thus far. They always take great care of my son as well. Yes, prices do vary and a few things might be pricy, but this is your mouth we are talking about. If you want to want to go cheap and mess up your mouth then go somewhere else to regret it in the end. But if you are looking for quality, come to Eastern Dental! Pros: I find the staff to be very professional and friendly. Everyone has their up and down days - I get it, but for the most part they have not been rude only helpful. Their facility is very clean which I love and I never have to wait for a long period of time to be seen. They are very quick which makes my life easier because I am always on the go, and have a lot to do. I love the fact that they text/email/call me when I have an appointment because it is a great reminder. Cons: The reason why I did not give them 5 stars was for their parking lot. The only con is that parking is very scarce and tight which is not good because if I am on time for an appointment but am searching for parking and am late because of it, that is not fair. I believe it would be beneficial for them to expand/update/modernize their parking lot. It would not only help their business but also give customers a piece of mind that they do not have to worry if parking will be available. read more

I appreciate the staff and treatments I have received at this office. One thing I noticed is that you don't need to worry about arriving early. I've never had a wait less than 30 minutes from my appointment time, even when I come first thing in the morning. It's a little frustrating when I have to leave work early to get there or go back to work afterwards. If they could inform me I'd be waiting longer, I'd like to be able to wait to come in. Some of their doctors only come a few days a month too so that can make it hard to get in appointments. They are quick for general services though (like getting fitted for partial dentures) and their dentists and techs are kind. read more

I only went there because that's where my company had their insurance with ! total nightmare only went to get a cap that had come loose reattached they told me they couldn't do that that the tooth had to come out because there was decay up under the gum and how lucky I was that the oral surgeon was there that day !! reluctantly, I let them do it and the woman surgeon punctured my sinus cavity when extracting my tooth every time I took a drink water would come out my nose! Have been coming here for years due to it being one of a few options in my dental plan. Beware: I have been told I needed dental work by them. When I consulted with other dentists, I was told differently. I requested an appointment for today. First appointment of the day, so I would not have to wait for hours which is a frequent occurrence. Despite confirming this appointment yesterday with me, I arrived to find that I needed to contact my insurance company as "I was not on their roster". I called only to have the representative confirm that I, indeed, was. She stated she would send a fax within 3 minutes confirming this. After waiting another approximately half hour, I was given x-rays/saw doctor; who, no surprise, recommended dental work. I was then told to wait in the waiting room because patients who arrived after me were to be seen first. Excuse me? I had a first of the morning 10:00 appt. Had to re-schedule. Also, when you leave, you get to sit and wait for " your highnesses" to stop chatting amongst themselves to tell you you can leave and will get a next appointment reminder. Exceptionally poor, questionable service. read more

I am normally hesitant to leave a negative review however this company's policy's and office manager Stephanie is an absolute joke. First time appointment made (5 weeks out). During the time of scheduling the appointment I specifically asked for any new patient paperwork to be mailed or emailed to complete before hand to make sure everything was taken care and was advised that was not necessary to just show up 10 minutes before the appointment. Today I arrived for the appointment and was handed a stack of paperwork (impossible to complete in 10 minutes). I start filling out the paperwork only to be told the insurance information that was taken by the scheduling agent was incorrect. I was told I would need to get my wife's SS# in order for them to verify the insurance. She stated I had two minutes to do so or I need to reschedule. I contacted my wife and within 10 minutes had her SS# for them to verify the insurance. They refused service because it took more than the two minutes they requested (completely unrealistic). I offered multiple times to pay for the appointment in cash until the insurance was verified, only to be ignored. I respectfully requested to speak to the office manager to explain my experience. What a mistake, clearly she has had no official training in customer service interactions. She decided to escalate the situation and direct all blame on me. I respectfully asked for her name and if she was solely the one in charge. She became visually angry and rude at this point. She would only give me her first name which I was totally fine with, but became extremely irritated when I asked for her last name like that was an absurd question.) After asking two-three times if she was the one solely in charge, she finally answered her director was here but he was busy. I asked if he was a dentist and again rudely responded with "OF COARSE!". I didn't want to take any of his/her time if they were seeing patients. I advised I would be leaving a review of my experience and she said go ahead I will fight it. Was a new patient and came for my first appointment. I brought my daughter with me nowhere did it say you could not bring a child to your appointment. Once there i was told if it was not her appointment she couldn't accompany me due to covid restrictions. What covid restrictions? they don't even require you to wear a mask there so I was confused on what covid restrictions they had. I had rescheduled three times due to them canceling my appointment due to the "dentist not being there." I finally switched dentist. Would not recommend. The last time they called to cancel my appointment 1 1/2 hours before it after I had already taken off from work. Worst dental place I've ever dealt with. This place in nothing but a chop shop,,,make you wait 1-11\2 hrs after you're appointment time,,The office in Northfield closed so this was the closest place 1 HR away that my insurance company had directed me to go, once there they would not do my scheduled cleaning and wanted to do a full scaling. I was super nervous coming to the dentist as i haven't been to one in years. i read the reviews and was even more nervous because some of them weren't that great. However, a lot of the reviews are more than 2-3 years ago. I must say i was VERY comfortable. The office is CLEAN. The x-rays were quick and not bothersome. I was brought into a room very quickly as well & the dentist spent a very good amount of time going over all my concerns and options. He was very charismatic and empathetic. He assured me I was in good hands and would get everything taken care of. Looking forward to my next appointment and i never thought i'd say that! read more

I get that healthcare workers are stressed out, but even before Covid and all the other things, the office staff here are not nice. The dentists and hygienists are quite nice and good at their jobs, but unfortunately, your first line of contact is with people who are so rude and generally miserable that you're not sure if you should feel sorry for them or hang up on them before they hang up on you. In all the years we have been coming here (for reduced costs over other plans) we've had to wait months for cleanings, and the dentist actually drilled my husband's tongue during a root canal. When he told them about it, they were quite nonchalant about the whole thing. Thankfully he didn't get an infection. I feel the only time they give good customer service is when you are new. I just tried to make an appointment for a cleaning. The first available is 2nd week in February 2018. I was invited to call back and check on cancellations. Not worth the lower cost. Yes, they cover more than other plans, but it's just not worth it. Shame on you Eastern Dental for taking our money and not being able to provide services in the year you are paid. read more

I really loathe this place... First, let us begin with the parking lot. For having such a large clientele, wouldn't it make sense to have a parking lot to accommodate more than twenty odd spaces? Secondly, the front desk reception area could use a serious prescription of Xanax; talk about overwork and underpaid. Never have I ever seen a group of women look more depressed day in and day out in my entire life. You would think they are around children all day, that would bring some type of joy in their lives... but alas, the sterile walls of being in a dentist office forty hours a week or more but have gotten to them. Next, the turnaround rate of orthodontists is appalling. In the years I was a patient there, I have seen about two come and go, making three orthos in just over six years. If that doesn't say something... Finally, their customer service is terrible. From back room gossip to blatantly speaking about patients in front of other patients.. this place is a mess. Whomever does the hiring needs to seriously reanalyze these women and do some.... cut-backs. Maybe then this place will get better reviews. read more

It was my first time here, not my usual dentist but my insurance company scheduled me here. I arrived 15 minutes early because I knew I needed to fill out paper work. I waited 40 minutes after my appt time for my first X-ray. It was another 20 minutes until I got back into a chair and then after over an hour and a half total I left because they couldn't do anything that day. (Granted, the only silver lining is that the hygienist and the dentist that were in my room were actually happy and kind). A gentleman that arrived the same time as me with the same appt time ended up leaving before I even got into a chair. One person in the waiting area also had an appt at the same time as myself and asked why the wait was so long but wasn't given a clear answer. I ended up looking up their reviews to see if this long of a wait was usual or not just to find horror stories. After reading what was shared, I don't even want them to touch me now! In addition to that, when I first arrived the lady working the front desk said nothing to me, didn't greet me or even look at me. Once I got back to the smaller waiting area I observed the employees' interactions with each other and none of it was good. It was either rude/hostile or disorganized. I am reaching out to my insurance company and hoping I never have to go back! Not sure why an X-ray had to take over an hour and a half of my day. read more

Go anywhere else! The customer service is awful and unprofessional. The dentist was rude and could care less. He never even introduced him self. Most unprofessional dentist I ever had met in my life! So disappointed, I took a day off from work for an emergency appointment because my tooth and filling cracked and broke off. It took 3 days for me to get this emergency appointment. I finally got in and they took xrays and said to come back to have the filling and tooth repaired. They couldn't give me an appointment for 3 months later to repair my cracked tooth and filling! No empathy and could care less for their patients from the time I called for an emergency visit to the dentist up until I tried to schedule a return visit it was a horrible experience! And by the way they expected me to pay for my filling that would have been scheduled 3 months ahead! Avoid at all cause!!!!!! Don't waste your time or your precious sick days!! I saw a different dentist every time and even had to had a tooth re fixed, because of the horrible job done in the first place. I also witnessed a dentist sleeping in his car in the parking lot... very professional! Needless to say I will never go back and let them practice with my teeth, after all I only have 32. While my first couple of visits were alright, things quickly began to go down hill. First, the appointment scheduling was insane! I had mostly fillings and routine dental care that I needed to do to keep doing my fillings. I had to wait up to four months at a time for each visit(orthodontist was also only open one day out of the entire week); including rescheduling. I started going there in the summer of '14 and didn't finish my eight fillings till '16! Unless you are in a real emergency, you won't get inside any time soon. The staff were okay at the start. Making a phone call appointment was terrible; it's like the person only searches for key words in my voice, instead of listening to my entire speech, and was in a rush to get off the phone as quick as possible and give me appointments I don't want when I'm asking a specific question. Then there was the dentist that I was working with. My first one was alright. But, suddenly something happened and she was not working there anymore. My second and now regular dentist was not good at all when I got my back teeth filled. It felt like she wasn't doing something right and I had so much silver I had to spit out after. There was one experience that make me dread going there ever, again with this dentist. It was a filling for my back teeth on the bottom. For some reason, they had two patients at the same time including me for the same person in the morning. I was first and the other person was there for something simple. So, I had the numbing injection out into my gums. I started physically shaking and had no clue what was happening to me( I have panic attacks with invisible shaking. But, this was not a panic attack.) The feeling made me accidentally knock the drill out of my dentists hand and I was scolded for it even when I had no control over my actions at that point; When I complained that I was shaking and the feeling wouldn't stop, they looked at me like complete idiots! Instead of doing something about it, they left me for the other patient until I "calmed down!" I would of called 911 if I had the choice. Anyway, I had to wait with a nurse(who was sweet) till they finished working on the other person. By then the effects were wearing off and they finished my fillings. I later searched up that the shaking I felt was when the numbing shot was injected into a part of the gum that it shouldn't be at. My dentist didn't know that! That took the cake. I hated how unprofessional these people were in emergency situations. The only reason I have to go there was because I still live with my fathers work insurance for financial reasons, and this was the only place that would accept his insurance. If you need to go somewhere for dental work and have a choice, go somewhere else! read more

As the others on here have stated, if there were a negative star for this place they would get it! We have been going there for years and have never really "liked" going there but it's only once every 6 months and only for routine cleanings and x rays. Luckily our family didn't have major tooth issues.. My husband is a corrections officer for the state of NJ. Once during a regular exam the dentist Ann Jeffers stood there pointing her finger in my face telling me "it's about time you state workers had to pay for your benefits".. This same dentist is consistently RUDE!! I always thought it was just toward us due to my husbands occupation.. Well.. Recently I witnessed this same dentist speaking so rudely to another pt I was appalled!! I could not believe the way this woman was speaking to this man and his wife (who may I add was in a wheelchair and barely could move or speak)! The husband only said the reason they were late getting there was because their appts had been rescheduled a few times. That's when she started flying off the handle at them, the tone in which she used along with the words she was using was so unprofessional!! I work for an eye doctor and couldn't imagine him or any of our staff speaking to one of our pts like that! I even said to the hygienist (hopefully loud enough for the dentist to hear it) my boss would NEVER speak to a pt of ours like that!! Nor would he put up with an employee speaking to someone like that either! The hygienist just looked at me with an I'm sorry kind of look and shrugged.. I can only imagine how this woman speaks to the employees there.. I wouldn't recommend this place to my worst enemy!! To top this off the same dentist told me I had two cavities!! I am a very anxious and nervous person when it comes to dentists and anything to do with my teeth. I have had some bad past experiences. I recently started coming to Eastern Dental of Vineland knowing that I have a lot of work that needs to be done. I was told that I needed 4 extractions to be done together. Dr Stewart made my visit very relaxing. The worst thing to me is the needles they give to numb you, but Dr Stewart did this to where I hardly felt him giving me the needle. Also when he did my extractions I felt nothing and was very pleased at the way he did it. I would highly recommend this Dr for anyone who has fears with the dentist. He takes the time to sit down and explain things to you and does not make you feel rushed. I am very happy with my choice with Eastern Dental of Vineland and also with the courteous and friendly staff!!!!! read more

I went to this facility for a year. I hated everything about this place. The head dentist is so mean and judgmental, she made me want to stay home rather than get my teeth fixed. I had quite a few cavities, and she didn't believe me when I told her that I genuinely take care of my teeth and that it could be genetics. She didn't want to hear it, she just scolded me every time I went. I have very bad anxiety as it is already and she made me hate dentists. Until now...I go to dental care of Vineland on Lincoln avenue and everyone in there is so nice. The dentist I have now counted the number of cavities I have and the number didn't even come close to the number that Eastern Dental told me I had. I think I have about 8 or 9 and Eastern told me I had about 14. Also while I was there yesterday, my dentist told me a few of my fillings were poorly done and contoured wrong. Needless to say, I will never go back to Eastern Dental. read more

I never had issues with my teeth. First problem, they tell me I have 6 cavities but can't fill the first for 7 months. My fault there, should have been a sign. So 3 1/2 months later I get 2 cavities filled. My nightmare began there. Since then I had to have one cavity filled 3 times because of extreme pain and they didn't do it right. Had to have a root canal, but had issues through the temp crown. Permanent crown I hope is healing finally. However, they messed up 2 other teeth that were healthy because they said my bite was off on the one side and filed down the teeth. Had off and on pain since. I have to wait for a new dentist next month. Hoping they can fix my problem. DO NOT GO TO THEM! Only positive thing I can say is there are very polite and nice people. Other than that they have no idea what they are doing. Oh yeah, got a second opinion, they said I had no cavities! read more

I always keep up with my 6 mos. cleaning and checkups, so I was shocked when I was told by Dr. Ann Jeffers that I had 9 cavities! I went to my regular checkup, had xrays, a cleaning, and fluoride, an was told I had no cavities based on the xray. 6 mos. later, I came back and had a cleaning and fluoride, once again being told I had no cavities. 6 mos. later I came in for routine checkup and was told I had 9 cavities! I told Dr. Jeffers that I did not understand how I all of a sudden went from 0 to 9 cavities in 6 months. She said I had really deep grooves in my molars, but I still did not understand especially when I was getting the fluoride treatments. Also, when she said I had the cavities, she looked referenced an old xray which she previously told me I didn't have cavities from that xray and she just eyeballed it! I made an appointment to start the process of having my so called cavities filled. The day of the appointment, I called the receptionist and said that I was nervous because I felt that something was not right about how Dr. Jeffers determined that I have all these cavities all of a sudden, and I wanted to cancel. She put me on old and came back and told me that Dr. Jeffers said she determined I had cavities from my xray. That was a boldfaced lie because clearly Dr. Jeffers eye balled it, and looked at an old xray which previously showed I had no cavities???? Something is not right with that doctor, I don't know if she was trying to get over or not, but I do not trust her. read more
