Nice selection of meats, fish, and canned goods. Shelves were neat and full, and they lady behind the counter was extremely helpful.

In Kenner, Louisiana there is a small Eastern European Grocery store. There are some nostalgic items I don't see very frequently around the big box retailers. They have salami, jams and preservatives, coffee beans and loose teas. There's also honey, chocolate, candy and snacks. Their prices are much higher than what similar retailers charge. I did pick up a few jars of the apricot preservatives. I wanted to get some Kinder Egg Surprises for some kids, but they were $4.99 each. I've never seen them for more than $3. The owner was very short tempered and not at all pleasant in answering the most basic questions about the products in his store. This is a huge turn off. If I was in the area again, I would stay clear of this little store. read more

The only Eastern-European store in the South Louisiana probably, and it is so bad. I wish it would be better, and it has so much potential. It was doing okay when Leo was the person managing this store for his parents, who are the owners. Now Leon is gone and his brother is working the store. This place had problems before, but now on top of having very bad business hours, no online marketing, is now having bad customer service, empty shelves where the food is still in boxes next to the shelves. Lots of food is expired, but I have to give kudos to the current manager, because he did warn me about the date and I didn't get the mayo. Thanks for that! Not a lot of items, but since Leon is gone it is even less. They used to have tvorog, pelmeni, even baked goods like Oreshki...it is all gone now. Nothing to go shop for anymore, since most of the items this store carry I can get online for probably same or even less price. Store not working on Sunday and Monday don't really care for doing good in my opinion. I understand about not having money to hire somebody, but that is the business. I wish somebody would buy this business and revamp it. People living on Northshore come there to shop, so the demand for this store is high, but current owners don't care about their business unfortunately. read more

they are overpriced. The shelves are barely stocked. It's a little dirty inside. I recommend them to clean maybe update the store there pricing need to be adjusted and they need to check their products and not sell expired goods. I was very excited to try the store but I could not do it because the food I bought afterwards was expired so I could not enjoy it. I was born in Ukraine and when I moved to New Orleans two years ago for graduate school I resigned myself to only occasionally eating the food I grew up with when I visited my parents. Thankfully a class mate told me about this place and now I can get most of what I crave whenever I want. This store has an excellent selection of Eastern European foods - for anyone that grew up with a polish/Russian deli they'll find their favorites and for anyone that wants to try something new you can find some great stuff here. I recommend picking up some herring, picked tomatoes and pickled mushrooms. The store is hard to find - it's behind the Taco Bell (in the back of the closed Rite Aid) if you're going down Williams Boulevard but it's worth visiting. The owner Leon was incredibly nice. I've had first discrimination experience in my 21 years life in this store!! I shocked because there are still some people like that in the world!! Today, I went with my family this store because we would like to buy and find some Turkish foods. There was an old lady in the store. I explained three times we are looking for from Turkey foods but not chicken one, the country foods which is from the mixed country in between Eastern Europe and Middle East! She was very rude and very angry and she said that "What do you want? Some Turkey foods? Follow me then." I followed her because I thought that she will show me some traditional food but she showed me turkey-chicken foods! And she said "there you go, take it Turkey/turkey." I'm very sorry and I've cried for couple hours, why people so hateful to innocent people because of just their ethnicity? read more

Food in this store is not fresh or is not stored properly. Always check for expiration date if there is one. I bought red smocked fish for the holidays. After eating very small piece I was sick Thursday thru Sunday. Honestly it was the worth food poisoning I have ever had. Thought I will die. Very happy that my family did not eat it.k read more

I have no idea how long this place has been open -- I've lived within three miles of its location for most of the last 31 years and just noticed it. Owner is very personable. Much of the merchandise is labeled in Cyrillic. And I'm no expert, but the selection of Polish, Russian, Ukrainian, Croatian, etc., foods is about as good as I know of in the New Orleans area. read more

Really nice little grocery store with a good variety of Russian and eastern european groceries. I especially liked their selection of fish. The place is a little hard to find though as they don't have a big sign out front. I recommend it as a great place to get some hard to find imported foods. Good prices too. Yelp is saying they are closed but they were definitely open today when I visited. read more

I visited the store in order to inspect a new item: Stuffed red pepper. Leon mentioned that there is a yellow pepper as well. Since I have experience with it and like more because of its hot taste - I got the latest. Yes, it is my old love. That day we were unable to make salad for dinner, as usual. We have been going to this store for many years. The phone number is incorrect on Yelp, it is 504.466.1982, otherwise, it's a great place if you like Eastern European foods. It's a little difficult to find, tiny signs once you find the building, but always nice folks working there and very helpful. Yummy meats, veggies and sweets along with other treats.
