I didn't like my massage at all l. The only other times I had 3 massage was in Puerto Vallarta on the beach which was supposed to be full feet but ended up turning into a full body massage. It was the old lady who sits behind the desk who did my massage. I was going to cancel because had a seizure 2/2 a brain tumor but how can you explain that to a woman who speaks no English. I told the lady I wanted a full body massage to mainly concentrate on my shoulders. 15 minutes into the massage she hadn't touched my shoulders. So I had to point exactly where my shoulders were. Then she only went to down to my left butt area. Oh and her nails ended up scratching me . From the moment she touched me it was pure hell and unfortunately it only got worse I was ready to walk out of there after 20 minutes. But she gave her best effort for someone I'm thinking didn't even go to masseuse school and the constant interruptions (we offered to come back the first week of January). My back is still hurting as I'm writing this review. I am guessing this was the lady who sat on someone's back. My mom had a totally different experience. She got a full body experience and actually had the chance to fall asleep on her massage. I guess it depends on the masseuse you get but for me they lost me as a customer. read more

Feeling super confused about my massage? Didn't see like the masseuse had any direction, she just kind of was doing whatever, in an unbalanced way. No one spoke to me or made me fill out paper work, which I thought was strange and I didn't have an opportunity to talk about problem areas or what I wanted done. A couple other red flags, the women pulled my underwear all the way down, which I never had someone do during a massage and she also sat on my back with zero heads up. It was 60 dollars for an hour which is a good price but I'm not sure, it felt just off. I'm going to call tomorrow for a refund. read more

Yan is excellent for the reflexology treatment. I highly recommend his skill in this. Each time that I have been to Eastern Relax he performs the foot massage and it has made a positive impact in dealing with my plantar fasciitis. I've been to other places like Footy Rooty but Yan's skill is far superior. He is also easy to talk with and explain your problem to. I highly recommend him if you're dealing with foot pain. read more

I have been coming here for about 7 years now and can tell you it's fantastic. If you are looking for a quick pick me up you can stop in for a chair massage or you can lay down for a table massage. They also have foot massages, however I have never done that. Note...this is a no frills place. This is for a good deep tissue massage. I leave here feeling loose and a little sore, but all my knots are gone. There is nothing like getting the crap kicked out of your back by small Asian ladies who have the strength of men 10 times there size. If this is what you want look no further, they have got you covered and cheap. Tip well though, they earn it! read more

This place is amazing. The therapist gave me a really deep massage and worked out all my knots (there were many, it was painful) which left me feeling completely rejuvenated and relaxed. They have the usual ambient, dreamy spa playlist, and the massage stalls are definitely not luxury but get the job done when it comes to modesty and keeping your bits away from plain view. There's definitely a language barrier, but the therapists are good at communicating otherwise with keywords and hand motions. The studio is above Mehek, the Indian restaurant, and they're open 7 days a week! I'm definitely going back, but I'll take my own oil. They use mineral oil/baby oil, and I'm not a fan of the scent....just a personal preference on my part. read more

Yes. minimum English language skills but oh so spot on massage skills! No joke. My first visit was a Male, excellent work on my poor shoulders, neck ,back, you name it! 2nd visit, got a woman therapist, spoke less English than my first visit and she walked on my back!!!@!! It was weird, but good. I'm not a large person, @5'3" and not heavy. Obviously, she didn't crush me as I'm able to write this! I didn't have the chance to look up at how she held herself up with the ropes or pipes but after I got used to it...I didn't care. A new experience of therapeutic massage! Pretty much the only place to get a reasonably priced (about $1/minute) massage near Princeton. I like that it's conveniently located across campus and the extended hours. Usually you can pop in here on a whim and be served quickly, if not right away. Not much ambience, though; it feels cluttered and mildly sketchy (even though it's not). The massages are pretty good, though there's some variability between the different ladies. Some of them are pretty good at recognizing repeat customers. If you have specific demands, you might find it difficult to communicate them, though. They have a frequent flyer card -- 100 minutes gets 10 minutes free -- which is nice. read more

Formerly I would have given them 4-5 stars, and they do give a 4-star foot reflexology treatment which is worth a try. I've had the reflexology about 6-8x, Chair massage about 5x plus and full body table massage around 10x plus. So I'm definitely not a stranger or newcomer to Eastern Relax - have over time had three or so of their punch cards fully filled up. Cost wise chair massage and reflexology are bargains IMHO. Table massage is pricier than the ton of Chinese massages place you find in all the strip malls, but not much more. My own private therapist is WAY more cost effective ($120 for three hour package) and she does way more effective deep pressure and doesn't follow a canned routine like in most of these professional Qi massage places. Location convenience is perfect for the university crowd. But for the chair massage - what gives? It seems that they just want to elbow you for duration of it and elbow not just the space between your neck and shoulders but EVERYWHERE even the soft of your back and SPINE??? - yesterday they chatted for 5min with no other clients while I waited, which is OK no sweat - but it seemed like they (well at least ONE of the female therapists) is maybe pissed about something and taking her aggression out by beating the shit out of you with her elbow. I had to tell her twice to go 'medium' not hard - but she got back to aggression pressure after a few minutes - the next time I will avoid this particular therapist, and I had concerns with her before but always give her a shot as she IS fairly effective with the foot reflexology. The worst massage I've ever had. There may be people here who are very capable but the guy who did it had no expertise, training, or natural ability. That shouldn't happen at any massage place. The tactic here is to do one half of the body so that you'll have to get more time to get the other half done. This guy demanded a tip and kept demanding. Highly unprofessional. read more

Amenities are BLEH... but the massage with Amber was GREAT. I would go back. BUT, she spoke almost no english. so it was hard to describe what i needed AND, it was rather cold, no bathrobe, and she had to run out during the massage to greet another customer. As a female client, I need to feel comfortable to receive a massage, and agreed to the elderly Asian woman who was expertly trained in shiatsu and tuina. However, there was no consultation, no oil, no lotion. It was dry, hard, stabbing, and aggressive. Don't get me wrong -- I like hard acupressure, but this was not nuanced, or caring -- and then I was abandoned halfway through for another client who walked thru the door, for a male practitioner, who I was not comfortable with -- and my body left unbalanced, having not received treatment equally on either side of the body. I cannot comprehend why a practitioner would stop working on a client halfway through and assume so many things. I am grateful this place exists, however, this place needs to do better. read more

Don't expect a soft robe, slippers or lemon water. No new age music either. But if you want immediate relief from your back pain, this is the place. I suffer from chronic myofascial back pain (muscle knots), and I walked in on a Sunday afternoon without an appointment. I left 45 minutes later feeling better than ever. I agree with the other comments about the language barrier, but in my case it was not a problem because the therapist new exactly where to concentrate. Very reasonable prices as well. Ive had two massages here. The masseuses are not properly trained. They will put a lot of pressure in small areas - you should have a larger surface area when you're doing a lot of pressure. At one point today the woman pushed down so hard on one spot in my lower back that it basically strained my back - it hurt the rest of the session and it still hurts now, 6 hours later. I feel worse than I did before I went in. Sad. Won't be back. read more

Went here for a 60 min back and foot massage and it was great. The lady that took me really did a fantastic job and she massaged all the areas of my back I never even knew were needed. She did use extra pressure which left my neck stiff for a day but after a while I felt so good. It's such a deal for the quality they give you so I recommend this place totally. The person converted it to two sessions of 30 minutes each - charging me $75 instead of $60- 30 for table massage and 30 minutes for feet. I thought that was not a nice thing to do. One of the best little massage shops in the area!! Nothing fancy - little ambiance - but the male therapist is amazing. He doesn't speak much English - which is fine by me - he's polite, highly skilled and knows how to dig into to sore and tight muscles! The price is right ($1 per minute) - no membership, no hard sale, no chatting, just a good, solid massage. I had a solid 60 minute, deep back massage here. The masseuse used her elbows and upper body strength to push my tolerance levels to the edge. The price is a little bit less than other places. The environment is clean and casual, not spa-ish, but functional. My only underlying concern is the split that the masseuse receives.
