The Spanish immersion program is at no extra cost and my daughter started kindergarten fluent in two languages able to hold conversations in Spanish with complete strangers the same as she could in English. I have never doubted for a second that my children will be safe and loved when they walk through the gates each morning. They use an app where we get updates with information and pictures every day of what the children are learning and working on in class. I didn't realize how spoiled we were until my older child went to kindergarten and we realized that we had to ask at dinner each day what she had done and often were faced with a shrug in response instead of a detailed breakdown. I cannot recommend any early childhood experience more than this one! Two of our best friends have now sent all of their friends to the JCC as well and we are all so happy to get to attend family events together. We will be so sad when we are all too old to attend this school because it truly has been a home to our family for 4 years and counting!

The staff feels like family, the kids love them. Every teacher I've met is very nice to us and to the children. We also like the diversity; we have made some really good friends in here. It's very easy to communicate with the teachers/staff, they're very accessible and flexible with schedules which is a plus. I've never doubt their capacity to take care of my children and teach them good values. The facilities are well kept, my kids love the playgrounds there and the toys they have. I recommend this school 10/10!

It is seriously Escondido's best kept secret for parents/caretakers of toddlers. Children must be potty trained to attend and min age 3. The dedicated staff encourage parents to shadow and volunteer 1x/month which really gets all the families involved. There have been 4 class sessions per school year (m/w or t/th for 3-4 year olds) or (m/w/f or t/th for 4-5 year olds) and each session is about 2-3 hours long which is all my son can really sit through. HIGHLY recommend you being prepared to sign up your child day of registration opens and the school year follows a regular academic calendar. They don't publicize this program enough, so keep an eye on the escondido rec page for registration or call the city rec department. My son has participated in this program + summer program last 2 years and I am so grateful for the affordable and fantastic preschool community. He has developed leaps and bounds socially and academically. Miss Kathy has been teaching here for 24 years and miss Nicole , her classroom assistant is also so patient and awesome with the kids. My son didn't qualify for the income based free city preschool nor did he meet age requirements for preK through EUSD. This was a great resource for parents who fall "in between."

They look lazy and not involved with the kids. I've seen 3 different teachers over a period of 4 months, that let kids cry without checking in on them to know why they are crying (ignoring them) on many occasions. Ive reported a teacher that was temperamental, ruff/forceful and mishandling a 1 yr old and the california state told me they can only take my complaint for being temperamental forceful/ruff and mishandling a kid. And theres no ''law'' that says that a teacher needs to attend to a crying baby, they can leave them to cry as long as they want! Well this was shocking to me bc 1yr old cannot talk, they cry when they need something. The teacher i reported was moved to another class room and not fired! With her temperament she should not be in contact with any kids. When i immediatly confronted the director of the program, ive told her to watch the camera's to see exatly what the teacher has done, she said that the camera's do not record!!! What the use of having them??? Be cautious!

LJMS is truly a best-in-class school. As a first-time mom, this was my first experience with a school for my son, and I had as they say "all the feels". From day one, though, I felt nothing but peace of mind dropping him off. I knew he would be safe, cared for, and getting an incredible education. A few things that stood out: * Safety: LJMS takes security seriously. From drop-off to pick-up, every detail is thoughtfully considered, and I really appreciated that. * Education: I knew my son was getting a strong academic foundation, but what impressed me most was the focus on the whole child. The school goes beyond academics and teaches kids how to be respectful, independent, and kind. * Care: The teachers, aides, and staff genuinely care about the children. It never felt like people were just doing a job, it felt like they truly wanted to be there. We were greeted with warm smiles every day and my son came home with a smile on his face every day. If you're looking for a school for your child, I can't recommend LJMS enough.

She takes kids as young as 2.5, and is absolutely amazing. Brenda provides a warm, gentle and loving environment, and it was common to hear my son say how much he loved her. I always felt confident and safe leaving him in her care, knowing he'd be well taken care of no matter what extra support he may need on that particular day. In addition to the wonderful environment, the generous amount of outdoor playtime was appreciated, and the fact snacks and lunch are provided. The educational component was phenomenal - he learned so much and was guided to build on his natural strengths. I can't say enough wonderful things about this preschool. The only thing that was a challenge for us was the late naps, as the children nap from 3:00-5:00, making the standard preschool bedtime of 7:30/8:00 impossible (for us). Brenda graciously helped accommodate by waking my son up early at 4:00 to help make bedtime a bit easier, which was appreciated. I look forward to sending my 2nd son to her when he's old enough!

On vacations, she regularly talks about how she misses Mrs. Brenda and can't wait to see her again. A few months after starting at this school, my daughter suddenly became potty trained and started to read and write on her own. It is possible that is just a coincidence and was going to happen anyway, but I'm pretty sure that Mrs. Brenda had a lot to do with it. I'm amazed at how much reading and writing my 3.5 year old can do now. She independently sat down at our dining room table one day last December and wrote Santa a letter. I was blown away when she showed me all that she had written. She also learns to clean up there as it is a Montessori and all the children are taught to only play with one toy at a time and then put it away when they are done with it. The school is in Mrs. Brenda's home and is very small: there are usually about eight kids there each day. Many of the kids are international and many don't speak fluent English. In my opinion that is a positive, as my daughter regularly comes home and teaches me words in other languages. All meals and snacks are included, which is really nice for all of us since I don't have to pack lunches, she gets a variety of new and hot foods, and all of the children eat the same meals. This school is also not picky about drop off and pick up times (as many schools are) and as long as it is open you can pick up and drop off at anytime. Sometimes I drop my daughter off at 7:30am and sometimes I drop her off at 11am and no one minds a bit. It is so nice to have lazy, relaxed mornings when we feel like it, but also be able to drop her off early if I have morning meetings. The one thing I don't like is that the TV is on sometimes, but the positives far outweigh the negatives. In summary, this school is great. It feels a little alternative as it is small and in-home, but I recommend you schedule a tour and check it out.
